A belated review after I came for a couple of days and ended up staying for five. I had read one previous review that said that there was no beach: there is, but it is thin and you wouldn't sit there because the resort is dotted with hammocks and comfortable sitting areas. There is a sign in the dining area... More

This place looked beautiful, but we were never made to feel welcome. For example, a rat chewed a hole through my backpack while we were there, and instead of apologizing, the owner just said that it was our fault for not putting the crackers I had in my backpack in to a special box that was apparently hidden somewhere in... Blissful spot to unwind and recharge. Nothing to do but read, listen to music and make the most of the sea that surrounds you, whether that be snorkelling, diving, swimming or boating. The staff will take good care of you and the food is delicious, not to mention all included! Expect to be disconnected from the world during your stay... More

A friend and myself (mid-20s) visited Via Vacare for two or three nights. We were planning on staying in the shared "back-packer" accomodation they offered for 150.000, but is this was a tall climb to a platform with a few mattresses, and if I remember correctly, little but a mosquito net to keep you from rolling out (and two meters... We had a day trip to Gili Gede and was hosted by Jett from Via Vacare. She was highly recommended by the owner of the hotel we were staying in Lombok. True enough, Jett is a lovely Dutch lady and it was such a delight to be hanging out with her. She took us to one nearby Gili island for... More

We spent just two nights here on our honeymoon. Found so much peace in a short time. Finding the right jetty where you can catch a boat to Gili Gede was a bit of an adventure (we were promised transport from Senggigi, but they got the day wrong, so we ended up waiting at the ferry for almost an hour... Firstly: this is not a party island. If you are looking for nightlife, lots of tourists, stay away. If you want to get away from it all and spend a quiet few days reading and going to sleep to the sound of the waves, this is the place for you. The setting is fantastic on an island with gorgeous views,... More

We stayed at ViaVacare in May and had a superb stay. Everything was very well organised by the staff. We enjoyed the Indonesian style lunches and dinners. Maybe the most authentical food we enjoyed on our trip this year. Our 3 year old daughter loved the mandi shower. Sunsets with a cold Bintang were very beautifull and late at night... More

It's really lovely :-) It's quiet, secluded and has its own reef. The owner Jet is a lovely Dutch lady who gives Yoga sessions in the morning and I really enjoyed talking to her about life. The food was nice and we can totally recommend the place for people looking for a quiet spot to practice the art of doing... More
