Here you wont have an privacy. We had a room where the guys running the hotel were all the time staying in front of our window and trying to look inside. The manager was following us through town to check out where we were. He was quite pushy to sell his walking tour. The room smells very bad. You better...

We spent 2 nights in Tetebatu, at Cendrawasih hotel.Bungalows are too expensive compared to what can be found in other Indonesian touristic cities, but this is due to a small number of hotels in Tetebatu. The absence of competition makes all hotels very expensive and Cendrawasih seems to be one of the cheapest. Staff was young and welcoming, and our...

Unluckily Lonely Planet writes that is a good place, so many western people chose it, I did the same. When I got the cottage I notice that wasn't very clean, but I closed my eyes thinking "I'm in Indonesia, not in Europe". After some minutes I noticed a Indonesian couple enter in the cottage next to mine, and few minutes...

We made the trip from Gili Meno to Tete Batu and spent two nights at Cendrawasih. (We paid 500,000 including boat to Bangsal which was way too much but everybody has the same price on the islands. Our driver gave us his number. He was really nice, nice car, good driver and has ok english. His name is Elle and...

We planned on staying two nights at Cendrawasih after reading about it in Lonely Planet. Not only was our accommodation dirty, damp and stuffy, but the owner made us very uncomfortable. He was extremely pushy, and we ended up overpaying for a guided tour to the waterfalls. When we tried to re-negotiate the price, he became very angry and lapsed...

Dear reader, don't go to cindrawasi. True, the garden is beautiful. But this place was very disappointing. The owner (?) was really pushy about his overpriced tours. He insisted that shouldn't drive motorcycle but instead take an overpriced car-tour with him, with reasons that were obviously not true ("bad roads", "hard to find", "inaccessible", "you need a guide"). He was...

Cendrawasih Cottages is a very unique hotel in an authentic little village. You get your own cute little cottage, with a bathroom downstairs and a bedroom upstairs. Although the rooms are a bit shabby and not all facilities are working properly, it's perfectly fine to sleep and price-quality-wise reasonable. Even better, there's an awesome panorama view terrace. After climbing the...

I love this place! Tetebatu is a really nice village. Before Tetebatu we have visited Bali, Kuta Lombok and Senggigi. These cities are all big and touristic. In Tetebatu there are only a few tourists. Cendrawasih Cottages is a great accommodation if you want to explore the area around Tetebatu including the Sasak Villages. There is a really nice terrace...

There aren't a lot of accommodation options in Tetebatu, and none of them are great, but Cendrawasih is comparatively lower price than others (around US$15), and the rooms (two-story traditional cottages) have some character. Main reason to stay here is to enjoy the lovely rice paddy and Gunung Rinjani views from the restaurant --- really idyllic. Food is OK. Room...

The warung serves ok food but the rooms are shabby and the bathrooms grubby. I would stay away - try the Wisma Soedjorno up the road, more expensive but looks much better.
