Detailed Reviews
Shocking but true. The rooms are old, dirty, and very poorly maintained. The breakfast is plenty, but infested with cockroaches, especially if you arrive to the breakfast room as one of the first guests in the morning. The staff seems unmotivated.
Since hotel staffs of many hotels in Israel begin their training / careers at this hotel, In order to secure the best possible future hotel staffs in Israel, the big 4 and 5 star hotel chains of Israel should make a joint effort (venture) to completely core the building and to renovate the Tadmor into a 5 star hotel. They should also get a Swiss trained hotel / school general manager to run it for them. They should however, leave the building structure as it is, because the Tadmor is a landmark of Israel. It would be a shame just to tear it down.
With good will and extensive renovation work, this hotel has the potential of becoming one of the most charming hotels in Israel.
I give the hotel 3 stars in value for money because the overwhelming majority of the hotels in Israel are relatively poor value for money (too expensive).

My understanding is that Israel, and Herzliya in particular, is a very expensive place to stay. However, I was surprised at the disparity in the quality of this hotel and the cost. I stayed here as part of a conference, and this hotel was recommended as part of the conference package. We payed the standard rate, which was US$160/night, twin share. However, the quality of the hotel was very average. The rooms were basic, and very old and a bit grotty. In addition, the staff were VERY rude and reticent to help with anything. On the plus side, the location was very close to the beach (about 5 minutes walk) and the breakfast was good (included at US$10 per day per room), and the rooms did have working air conditioning and comfortable (albeit small) beds. I am not sure if there is better in the area for cheaper, but be warned that you do not get anywhere near the same value here as you would expect for the price!

I stayed in this hotel for 1 week in early February 2012. Contrary to the reviews I read beforehand, I found this hotel adequate and clean, with a very good Israeli style breakfast selection available from 7:00 to 10:00 daily, including fresh oranges to make your own drink, cranberries, apricots and fresh figs, various egg dishes.
I was on a business trip, so most of the time I was out and about. I found my room clean and tidy, although this, including the bathroom, and the hotel in general, could do with a good facelift. As it was cool at night when I entered the room, I used the air conditioning on HEAT setting and it worked very well. For extra comfort, additional blankets and pillows are supplied in each room.
Also the staff were helpful and friendly at all times. As a frequent business traveller I would rate this hotel as **Star by UK standards.

This hotel is terrible.
On the first night they put me in a dirty freezing cold room, which was 90 USD a night, the room was not worth 50 USD a night, after a heated exchange with Shoshi Yellinek, they moved me to another dirty room with no heating. This so called front office manager is not suited for the job, to build relations with customers, she and the hotel just like to screw customers over.
Eventually they moved me to a so called upgraded room, but in this hotel there is no bar and there are no tea and coffee facilities in any of the rooms.
So one night I came back and I could not even make a drink, miss Yellinek reluctantly gave me tea and coffee and a kettle after speaking to her again.
Breakfast was a disgrace, they have this mentality at the tadmor, that f there are no guests, then they can cut breakfast to the bare minimum and expect guests still to pay full price, what I mean, I got a pesach plate, with a bit of cheese, tomatoe, ect, just like first night of pesach, and oily omelette, very poor, only on Shabbat did they have the most poorest of buffets for breakfast, because they had more people.
Tell me, when you fly British airways, united, ElAL, or stay at Hilton, ramada, best western, basil, they might choose a smaller plane, but both hotels and airlines will not, especially hotels cut breakfast to nothing, last year I had a better breakfast in a hostel in France.
Over all very poor and staff and management don't care.
And this is israels hotel school

Hi to you all,
I stayed at this hotel for three weeks because I had some problems to solve in Israel. I chose it because it was cheap ( by Israeli standards, not by European Standards), having to stay for so long. It is dirty, smelly, the staff is rude, noisy and with no respect for the customers. Everything is dirty, dirty, dirty. The vegetables and fruits you get at breakfast are not washed ( oranges are FULL of dust and dirt and you are supposed to make juice of it!) The juicer is half a century old and half a century dirty ! Breakfast is KOSER and on Saturday you won't get any coffee or oranges or scrambled eggs ( the only hot thing on breakfast anyway). The kitchen manager is very dirty and he often recycles food: he takes it from the table of the people that have already eaten and are gone and is so kind as to bring it to your table as a gesture of hospitality. :( Do not accept it! Actually all food is recycled every morning, you get the one you had the day or days before until there is no more and they have to bring some new one.
The forks, plates and glasses are also very dirty and it takes some time until you find clean ones. Everything is sticky!
The carpets and the bathrooms are full or stains and they smell awfull. Internet you will only find in the hotel lobby, although they say that the signal is very good in your room when you check in ( you will find all guests in the lobby with their laptops as they only have one access point). They give you " Do not disturb" signs only if you ask them at the reception and the cleaning ( if it can be said like this) takes it from your door so you have to ask it back from the reception. If you get blocked in the elevator, the reception will tell you that there is nothing they can do ( after you finally get out of there by yourself),, you have to wait and see what happens ( maybe something happens without anyone doing anything!) Occasionally you will find bugs, in your bed or in the hotel lobby.. who cares anyway?
The pool is old and tiny, not new and shiny like they describe it and they keep it closed probably because it is so difficult to take care of it! You actually have to do something! Move for example.. :))
Except for one receptionist, the only normal and nice lady over there, they are all either stupid or very stupid. And of course dirty so to fit in: their hair, their clothes have not seen water lately! ( I am not exaggerating!)
It is probably like this because the hotel is cheap for Israeli standards: a room in Herzylia is above 200 dollars so they probably think they are doing you an offer! The big surprise is that they have a hospitality school so they will preach dirtiness to as many young professionals as they can!
If you can, don't go there! It is a two stars hotel the most!

the only good thing about the hotel is its location close to bus stops.
the hotel is quite run down. there is a plasma screen. rooms are small and lacking in caricature. staff was not very helpful. cant believe the staff is being trained to serve in larger 5 star hotels. would not recommend

This is a moderate hotel. No amenities but the people could not be nicer. The room was clean and quite. There is wifi access only in the lobby and sometimes reception was not great. An easy walk to a town center with shops and restaurants. Then just a little further to beach, about 20 minutes total. There is a bus in the town center to visit the marina which was great for sitting, having a drink or meal, and watching the sunset.

The room was clean and the reception was polite and helpful. But we were surprised to find that the following day our room was not made up and there were no fresh towels. The desk provided us with new towels.
The maintenance of the room lacked much. The ventilation fan in the bathroom sounded like a tractor when turned on. A few light bulbs burned out and needed replacement.
We booked this hotel for two major reasons. We had a fantastic price through one of the internet coupons and we wanted to visit friends and relatives in the Herzlia area.

Israel is expansive country . We visited it for treatment wich cost heavy . And we were happy to find this relatively cheap hotel . In addition they suggest discount for people having treatment in Herzliya . And although it resembles an old hostel there is pretty good sleeping conditions . Clean rooms . Plus good breakfast . So no reason to complain especially keeping in mind it price .

I have stayed here twice. Once in 2009 for about three weeks and again in 2015 for about 17 days. The two visits were quite similar with a few exceptions. On the first visit the breakfast was buffet style. On the second trip it was brought to you by a waiter with generally no choice of the menu (perhaps this is because of the language barrier - I cannot speak Hebrew). I have only experienced the Standard rooms.
The pool is not working on this trip which is a huge disappointment as there is otherwise no exercise facility on the grounds. A previous reviewer wrote the pool was 'tiny'. This is certainly not the case as the pool is atypically large for a moderately-priced hotel. The pool area is nice when in service thought immediate pool area is now overgrown with weeds and looks terrible. There is a nice deck overlooking the pool.
The wireless internet service has improved since my first visit and I get a clear signal in my room on the third floor.
I have not experienced the worst of the problems mentioned in the above reviews and I have stayed here for about 6 weeks. I did not see a single roach or insect. I encountered no staff that were unclean as a previous review mentions. The place is not spotless but it is not ridiculously dirty. Reception is clean and the lobby off of reception is clean and nicely arranged though the ares seem not be air-conditioned - or it may be because they keep the front door open for some reason.
The staff is friendly and not a single one of them was ever rude to me. A few were not overly friendly but I feel they were shy and/or could not speak English.
The rooms are the weak point. They are a bit dirty (but not disgustingly so) and are very small for the price. The TV is as anachronistic as you will find in the developed world. There are two remotes to figure out and a satellite (cable?) system that is laughable. You are advised to unplug the cable box and wait if certain channels do not work. The front desk will tell you the same thing. By the way, this method never once worked for me. Only one (BBC News) of the hundreds of channels that would have interested me worked. There were a few other English-language channels that worked but these had old and/or unpopular U.S. or U.K. shows. The air-conditioners are very loud and annoying.
For a hotel in one of the most exclusive areas of Israel (the street a few blocks away is known as having the most expensive houses in Israel) that is also favored by tourists for its proximity to a very nice beach, I find it surprising that most of the staff speak very little English. This is especially odd since overall many Israelis do speak English. Surprisingly one of the oldest staff members spoke the best English.
I am here on business without my family so the hotel is fine for me. The price is not great but not bad for a hotel very near the beach and in an exclusive area. I would and probably will stay here again. If you are looking for a nice, no-nonsense hotel near a great beach and are not expecting frills and perks this is the place for you.
I almost forgot - the hotel is quiet. The only activity seems to be early in the morning when people are in the dining area. I suspect they are the students training at the hotel.
