from the outside it gives the impression of being a hotel of good level, at the reception the treatment of the employees was very bad, I had a debit card and not a credit card and that is why they wanted to charge me 150 shekels more, the shower in the room did not have hot water in summer, a real shame!!!!, and the mattress on the bed was very soft, after a lot of use, I don't recommend it!!

Reasonably well located to the market and city centre but has has a whopping great construction site right out the front-which isn't the hotel's fault of course but but rude reception staff are. If you can't relate to guests what are you doing in hospitality? In other respects the room was clean if small, and the air conditioning an effective respite from Tel Aviv's heat. Breakfast was extensive but kind of bland, little or no fresh fruit or toast, and no eggs other than the hard boiled variety. There is a pleasant lounge area to relax in and a small bar to order drinks from.

The best thing about Ruth Daniel Residence Hotel is not the clean room with a super mattress, or the full buffet breakfast or the very pleasant and helpful staff. It's the fact that you have free parking on site. This is no little thing when you have a rented car. The location is meh, but you're not far from anything here.

This hotel lays a bit south of the old citycentre but near Jaffa. It's half an hour walking to the Carmelmarkt and 10 minutes to Jaffa and the sea. When you want to take a bus to the centre it is possible of course. Dinners and breakfast are more than oke. Rooms are clean. Coffee/tea maker and airco available in the room. In our room the toilet is apart from the bathroom, nice! Service of the staff is good. They are helpful. I would come back here.

I spent some nights in Residence Ruth Daniel, Yafo, last week and had room 410 there. That is a room for disabled people. It is rather big and comfortable. The doors are wider than in most hotel rooms all over the world. In the shower there is a seat. The bathroom is not new but functional. In the bedroom one wall was kind of round because of the special architecture of the building. The minibar was empty, as in every place where I stayed in Israel. Before writing my own review I looked at the photos of Residence Ruth Daniel published on Tripadvisor. They seem pretty authentic to me. The only thing that embarrassed me in that room was a device in a corner near the ceiling because every time I moved in bed a red light went on and off again. Mysterious... Other hotel guests had the same light in their rooms. The dining room was well frequented. The meals were fully okay. There should have been more fruit, also in the morning when there was no food at all. The staff there was very polite, and every time the waitress removed a plate from the table she said Thank you. I found that exceptional. In the immediate neighbourhood of the Residence a new football stadium is being built. The surroundings are not very nice but in a few minutes you can walk into Old Jaffa if you only cross the street at the traffic lights. The traffic was heavy sometimes. I walked up to the vistapoint from where you can look over to the Tel Aviv skyline. From there I also watched the sun go down. That was spectacular. I also advise you to go for a walk along the beach from Yafo to Tel Aviv or the other way round, which will become an unforgettable memory. Judging by my own experience I must say that some of the more recent reviews which give two or even one star only to this Hotel appear unjustified to me.

We were a family group of 12 in 9 rooms - all rooms were well below average. Our room showed signs of neglect on the bathroom ceiling and by the time of the first bath taken, chunks of plaster started to fall into the bath! The TV had very poor reception on ALL channels, and the choice of channels was pathetic. (we changed rooms - ceiling better but TV still bad and new room also in bad state). Shocked on arrival to be rudely told to pay all 3 nights IN FULL IN ADVANCE - now we know why. We would have liked to change to a hotel (this is a very poor youth hostel) but the commitments to our family get-together did not allow for this. One single cousin, on arriving a day earlier, having stood outside in the rain as nobody was manning the electrically operated door, eventually went insde to find hordes of youths, and was given a key to an unclean room. She refused the room and immediately checked back out. We spoke and wrote to the manager, Irit, about all of our family's upsets, and in her written reply she told us how fortunate that cousin was to receive a refund . Irit also said that our complaints were unfounded as we always received what we had asked for in the end, even if it took some time. This is very unprofessional, and is actually untrue. All our family group was eventually invited to a free meal by Irit on the last night of our stay, but this was the night of the big family party. As we were unable to accept this, nothing further was offered, and as seen above, Irit's reply did not even offer any apologies. In summary, breakfast poor. (if you could find what had been there earlier), 'hot' food not even warm, cold bedrooms, refusal to call taxis which meant we all waited over 30 minutes in the cold and rain on the nearby main road to reach our celebrations, noisy groups of youths in corridors until the small hours. ALL of this, and it is not even reasonably priced. WE'VE TOLD YOU LIKE IT IS, NOW YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE.
