When arriving at the Ruth Rimonim Hotel, one falls in love: in love with the charming hotel located at the heart of the Artists Colony, facing the breath taking view of Meron Mountain; in love with each of the 78 individually designed rooms, equipped with cable TV, telephone, hairdryer and mini-bar, built carefully to retain the style of the old Turkish Khan from the 17th century; in love with the quaint alleys of Safed.

We went there for a long weekend with the family. Driving up the hill, winding through the old streets of Safed /Zefat you arrive at the hotel, it has ample parking both on the street and an on site car park behind a gate. The lobby was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh. The front desk staff were wonderful, smiling, friendly and very efficient. We had arrived early so they gave us use of the pool till the rooms were ready. The walk to the pool gave us the first experience of the amazing gardens and incredible buildings. Absolutely breath taking. the pool is just a little walk through this amazing property, it was clean spacious and the cold water was perfect in the hot weather. The rooms were ready ahead of time. We walked through the clean hallway and across a little outdoor corridor draped with vines, opened the rooms and wow, so nice, so clean, so well laid out and the balcony was fantastic , our two rooms shared the balcony. It was huge, with chairs and a table and an incredible view. In the room all the fittings were in good working order, the TV was new and had a great channel selection, the beds wonderfully comfortable and the pillows perfect. The air conditioner looked new and worked well, the WiFi was free and just fine.We received bottles of water, a plate of fruit and nuts. Everything was just perfect. We went down to dinner a few hours later, to a spacious cool dining room, the food was exquisite salads, various poultry dishes, beef , fish, soups, sides deserts..you name it they had it and it was all delicious, accompanied with a great bottle of wine it was a fantastic dinner with great service. We slept well and the next day breakfast was once again amazing, something for everyone and once again wonderful service. Sadly we only stayed 2 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer at this delightful, perfect hotel with it's amazing staff and incredible views. By the way, everything was Covid compliant. I will definitely go back there. If you are in Israel and need to be in the north of the country, don't miss this gem of a hotel.

The Ruth Tsfat hotel has a lot of character and in a good way. Our room was large, airy and clean with high ceilings and a very large balcony with a view over Mt. Meron. The food was consistently good with some dishes excellent. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great if you want to be in Tsfat and parking was not an issue. They also had Shabbat keys readily available if you wanted for your room. Especially compared to many other hotels in Israel we felt this was very good value for our money. Yes, as you go around the hotel you feel you are doing a series of small stairs but unless you really can't do stairs, it would be a shame not to come because of that. We had a very relaxing and comfortable weekend at the hotel and are looking forward to returning.

We stayed at this property the weekend of Nov 22,2019. Although they were booked solid and we could only get a standard room, the manager upgraded us to a room with a balcony and a beautiful view overlooking the surrounding Galilee mountains.
Shabbat meals were outstanding and a free tour of the Artist Colony on Friday night was a real bonus. The tour is arranged by the hotel and features a history professor with incredible knowledge of the area.
Room was spotless and the service was great. This is our third time at the Ruth Safed and we intend to come back again and again.

It’s beyond me how this place even have business.
We booked a two nights stay and wrote in the comments/special, a request to get a room with a view as it is our honeymoon. Mind you, there are almost no rooms in Tsfat (safed, sefad one however they wrongly spell it..) with no view, I mean, you need to be a magician to find more than a few without.
So we get to the hotel to be greater by a super sweet and very young front desk girl who demanded full payment first (again, I’m not familiar with that after traveling to thousands of hotels all over the world) which would be ok if the room we got was more than a jail cell with a little piece of view. She btw, knew nothing about our honeymoon, this is how much they care about your requests).
To make a long story short, they made an effort to show us one more room in a different building that had old carpets and smelly, kinda like a one star hotel in old Vegas or Reno and that room was worse with no view either.
When we finally left the hotel and went to look for a place to sleep (6:30pm on the first day of out honeymoon!) we realized that almost every other option in Tsfat is a 100 better and you got so much to chose from. The place we stayed is not nearly as famous as Ruth hotel but boy oh boy, it was paradise for itself but seventh heaven in comparison to that sad and insulting place.
With all that says, I must say that the young girl in the front desk was super nice and gentle but that was simply her personality, she couldn’t help because her bosses didn’t care one bit.
To end that review I must tell that in the new hotel we met a couple that went through the exact same experience minus the honeymoon.
Never ever go back there, not even for half the price!

This last Rosh Hashana, our family had a very successful stay at the Hotel Ruth Dan Tsfat. Everything was just perfect. The hotel is particularly beautiful and its concept is very original. You access the rooms in small alleys in the authentic style of Tsfat. There are several small quiet places to rest, a very pleasant 22-meter swimming pool, under the supervision of Aryeh the very friendly lifeguard.
But the strong point of this hotel is, with no doubt the service, at all levels, at all times of the stay. All the staff is in constant care. Room service, during meal, all the staff take care of our comfort. Yoram Revivo, responsible for customer service, does not spare any efforts. For 3 days, we saw him run in all directions, to help carry our suitcases, serve us champagne or ice cream by the pool. We really loved our stay and will certainly come back with the whole family!

I would definitely recommend to stay at this hotel.
Great and extremely nice and friendly staff. Great and comfortable rooms with remarkable beds and large TV sets.
The entire hotel seems to be taken from a picture. Each corner is well though off, filled with green and flowers.
The breakfast spread is amazing and delicious. The pool facilities are pleasant and inviting.
The hotel is located right at the entrance to the Old city with amazing views of Maron mountain.
Too bad that its room cleanliness was way below standard. We had to ask several times to exchange towels because of hairs we found on them and on the complementary robes.
And from the second day we had an ant problem and the room was generally clean but you could detect dust and water marks.

We had stayed here many years ago and had a lovely stay. It is a charming historical property
This time we were disappointed.
First, the young lady who checked us in was very unfriendly, no smile. (Felt like I was at passport control at Israeli airport! ) Really needs a training in guest services. They do offer cold drinks and cookies in the lobby, so a nice touch.
We asked about nearby restaurants for a snack when we checked in. They weren't helpful at all, and what do you know, we found a place by just walking up the hill.
We had booked a room in the older section. Our initial room was a long walk with lots of steps, too hard for my husband to walk. Older historic property, hence no elevators.
They did switch us to another room with shorter walk and that was a small, cramped room with high windows so no sunlight. Tiny bathroom. It was hard for us to move around and spread out and we were not happy. Hated this room.
We asked for a larger room in the older section (like we had last time)but told they were all booked. We then asked for a refund so we could check out since we had booked a four night stay. Nope they wouldn't do it.
You can pay extra for a dinner at the hotel. It is a buffet, looked good but just average food.
The breakfast buffet was very good each day though.
They have lovely grounds outside and areas to sit with beautiful views and a large pool. But the pool hours are limited, so if you tour during the day it is closed by 6.
There is nothing in the room about nearby restaurants or sites.
There is parking on the property so that is a plus.
If there was a 2.5 stars rating would have given that. Not a great value for what we paid.Well, sadly I think this is our last time staying here.

Reception staff were so rude when we arrived, when we asked for a map of Sefad in English the didn’t have one, so thrust a Hebrew one- not much help if you don’t read Hebrew. Didn’t tell us that the advertised restaurant and bar was closed at night, during our stay. When we asked for a local restaurant for a light meal, when asked if we had a car, we said Mo, she shrugged her shoulders and said, I don’t know!
During our stay, 3 times staff opened our door to come into our room when we were there!!
The breakfast was amazing and the dinning staff were wonderful.
Dan Hotel chain has taken over and need to retrain or sack the reception staff.

I Have been to Zfat so many times. Each time it is a magical experience. I never stayed at the Ruth Rimonim Hotel - I stayed with my family this past month, finally for a birthday celebration. We took 2 rooms for a Friday night stay. It was not cheap but sadly it was not a Zfat experience or environment. The worst part was the head waiter who went head to head with us because I wanted to feed my granddaughter soup from his kitchen 10 minutes before the restaurant opened. He was both mean and rude ! They also promised us a late check out based on availability for Shabbat-- needles to say, they did not give it to us, even though the rooms were not occupied or cleaned for the next guest that same evening. They just mocked us. I have been to so many hotel in Israel I have never had this kind of experience. Honestly, I would never go back again to that hotel. Look elsewhere!!
