The room was comfortable and the atmosphere was nice, but the meals served in a "chef's restaurant" did not live up to our expectations. Dinner - while the salads were good there was little imagination in the main courses, and our most serious complaint is that the food was served lukewarm (at best). Dessert was also not a success. We knew breakfast on Saturday would be limited, but we expected more on Sunday morning. But instead, we got watery scrambled eggs and the same quiches from the previous day. In short, we were not satisfied by the food.

We stayed here as part of a large tour group. We were on the ground floor (no stairs) at the end of the hall on the right. The room was large with high ceilings, very clean and beautiful! It had a comfortable king size bed and a Nespresso (the only REAL coffee we had in Israel till we got to the airport!). It also had a lovely patio. The food buffet was very good. They brought gluten free bread for those who asked. The ladies working in the restaurant were always smiling and very helpful. The biggest downside was the noise as our room was on a busy street. We heard drag racing till 3am. Others in our group heard nothing since they were on the other side. Bring your earplugs or white noise just in case.

Small boutique hotel, the kind of hotels that had all the potential to become a place to remember.
The hotel is built on historic building, beautifully designed.
We took the best room in the hotel, the one having the panoramic view on the Sea of Galilee and the mountains... the sunrise in the morning was absolutely breathtaking.
Breakfast was good, rich, fresh and clean. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful.
Nevertheless, the building maintenance is very bad, the floors were not clean, our balcony had cigarettes on the floor, and the pool really needs some renovation..

Historic hotel with characterful rooms and gorgeous traditional reception area BUT that was where it ended. The service and cleaning were poor, there was trash left on my balcony from a previous guest and all the corridors and common areas looked dusty and in need of a good vacuum. The pool area was filthy, the sun loungers were stained and patio tables and chairs dirty and unwashed. It did not look inviting and the pool seemed chained the entire time we were there (apparently there is a life guide sometime during the day when we were out sightseeing but in the afternoons when we returned it was always closed up; however since it looked so dirty we would not have swum anyway). Most of the hotel is closed (spa, sauna, 5th floor terrace, evening restaurant and pool bar - all closed with no mention of this on the website). It is definitely not a five star hotel and was a massive rip-off in terms of price. I would give it three stars for the charming old style rooms and fairly decent breakfast buffet if you can turn a blind eye and ignore all the other areas which are a bit gross and if they lower their exorbitant prices. If you decide to ignore the bad reviews like we did, and book there anyway, be warned to lower your expectations.

The Europa 1917 makes itself out as a 5 star hotel. They are far from it. The light switches for the bathroom were hiding BEHIND the TV mounted on the wall! We stayed there on our first trip to the Galilee, and after one night moved to a nearby real 5 star hotel. The hotel refused to offer any refunds for misrepresenting the rooms.

Old And quaint hotel with minimal supplies; hotel was boutique type- room was comfortable; buffet meals were sumptuous. Biggest negative was the noise level at night- we could hear conversations from our neighboring room, vehicles driving by, honking, braking, cars meowing through the night, people talking on the streets and noises that sounded like gun shots. Room 415 has the best view

We had a lovely weekend here. The food was good [almost excellent apart from the bread which was tasteless and dry]. The service in the dining room was pleasant too. A relaxing place to be. 10 mins walk from the Kinneret.

Quaint and old hotel; amenities were just basic (no restaurant, no bar) rooms were average. The biggest problem we had was the noise of vehicles, cats, ?? Gun shots, people talking/arguing at night. Room 415 has a beautiful view

We had the opportunity to stay at this gem of a hotel. Close by the promenade and historical buildings. Shiran at the desk is very friendly and was very helpful. The owners kept this hotel with touch of Ottoman and modern facilities together. Great breakfast and awesome service. The price is very good for a boutique hotel. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!! Highly recommended!!!

A true surprise!
Intimate boutique hotel with great history and personal customer service! fits couples mostly, not for families and little kids. Has a great atmosphere, clean, and classy.
It's a small hotel with a small homey pool.

Europa 1917 has different size rooms. You can certainly get a room that can accommodate three guests, when one is your son. You can contact us about 6 weeks before your visit to Tiberias and we will help you with that.
