Great location when a loved one is at Albany Medical Center. You can park your car and not have to move it at all during your stay. Most of the front desk staff are truly excellent, pleasant to speak with and very helpful. The corner suite is quite comfortable, but there are a couple of things that could be updated to make it even better. One is that there is no full length mirror. The only mirror is in the bathroom. Not a reason to leave, but a strange “missing”. Also, a second half bath would be a great idea for the suites. If you are hosting a meeting in the living/dining area, you probably would prefer not to have guests go into the bedroom area to use the restroom. The breakfast staff is also very pleasant and the choices and quality of the food is good (one exception … those squishy little potatoes … yuck). Would stay again if in the area.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights, arriving at 1 PM and parking in their covered and gated lot. The nice receptionist processed our Master Card and issued the key card. We carted our bags to one of the 2 elevators and up to the 7th floor. Room #710 opened to 2 comfortable queens, a dresser unit with TV(difficult channel guide), desk and chair, easy chair and ottoman, unit with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker and fully outfitted bathroom with tub shower(passive ventilation). The secure room WIFI was strong, the window, with an unobtrusive AC/heat unit, looked onto the Albany Medical Center. I used the 7 station gym and did “easy laps” in the small indoor pool. I requested Keurig refills and a bag with 4 coffees, creams and cups was placed in our room. There is a Starbucks and a bar/grille on site, a Panera 1 block down the street and 3 blocks farther is Washington Park. This clean, quiet 129 room hotel with private parking provides a nice stay at a Gold member rate of $121/night.

I stayed at this hotel because a close relative was in the Medical Center. He was in intensive care and then" comfort care" so I was able to visit at all hours and sleep in a chair in his room. I could not have done this without having a room in this hotel which is connected to the Medical Center. I was able to pop back to the hotel room at any hour to shower and get a few hours of comfortable sleep there. I really cannot accurately answer the questions of the general hotel amenities because I was so focused on the hospital. I can say that the room was totally excellent in all respects. The two restaurants I used there were also outstanding. There was a heat wave on and every time I walked past the front desk they gave me a bag with two bottles of water and some chocolate. The hotel staff were so kind. They kept asking me if I needed anything, and they seemed to genuinely care. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel is.

I stayed here one night. When I arrived I could not figure out where the parking lot is, as the hotel is across from the medical center and much of the parking in the area is for the medical center. I called the front desk and asked, noting I was parked in front of the hotel. I was told to drive up and make a left at the light - which would have put me in the medical center. I repeated I was in front of the. She then seemed to catch on wnd told me to turn around and make a left at the lught. It warranted further instructions.
I parked and came in and was given my key. Which did not work in the elevator, but someone swiped me. It did not work in the room either so back to the desk.
The room appeared clean but it is dated and dingy.
Overnight noises from the hall were loud in the room. As are the apparently one or two dogs whining next door or nearby right now.
There was no bar of hand soap but there is a bottle affixed to the wall. Which is fine until you take a shower and realize the bottle of “Zero” (the brand) shower gel has literally zero gel in it. No bar so ap. Fortunately I had a bottle of shower gel (I hate throwing out those 1/3 used personal bottles from hotels).
In the bathroom there is a sign - they only make the beds and clean every other day.
This place was ojay but don’t expect more than okay. And check your shower gel before you go to bed. (I didn’t wash my hair so I don’t know about the “Zero” shampoo and conditioner.

I made a reservation for a Friday and Satutday night, covering the Jewish Sabbath. I got there late Friday afternoon, and at check-in I inquired about them using the electronic room key to open my door for me as required. Under Jewish law i cannot use anything electrical during the Sabbath. I have done a lot of traveling, and this accomodation has been provided to me 100% of all such times. Instead, at this hotel, the Manager came out and rather smugly informed me that "we don't do this anymore" and asked if I wanted to cancel. He was either very incompetent in dealing with guests or was an inner anti-semite. I hate to use that term lightly, but since there has been so much bigotry against Jews and Israelis recently, I don't rule that out. In any case, you don't have to be Jewish to feel offended by this behavior, and so it would be only fitting to consider competitiors to a place that promotes such type of service.
P.S. Following that, I was very fortunate to be able to make a reservation elsewhere in the area, since time was getting so late before sundown. Of course, that other place accomodated my request and was glad to be of help.

This was a last minute booking. My hotel room was clean, no smells. The bed was comfortable, the fridge kept my drinks cold. There is no daily room cleaning and towel changes, (you have to request it).
The only negative thing I have to say is the thin walls. I heard kids crying all night, it sounded as if we all were in the same room. The pool was well chlorinated lol & “heated”. It didn’t feel that way but was great never the less. Across the street obviously is the Hospital.
It’s within walking distance of the CVS pharmacy, chipotle there’s a Starbucks downstairs in the hotel along with a restaurant. In the neighborhood there’s also a McDonald’s.
The staff at the front desk and everybody I came across were very friendly. I felt safe every exit, amenities including the elevators you need your key card to access. If ever I need a place to stay while in Albany this hotel is definitely on the list.

The virtual key eliminates the need to take a ticket at the parking gate. Plenty of dining options on site and available for delivery. Guest floors can only be accessed with a key card. The guy who checked us in was really nice, he deserves to be mentioned by name but I didn't catch it. The room was very clean. Despite my room being directly across from the elevator, facing New Scotland Ave and Albany Med noise was not an issue at all. I anticipate the need to stay in the area again soon and I will definitely stay at the Hilton Garden Inn AMC when I do.

As for many people at this hotel, I was a guest for the worst reason with a family member in the hospital after a serious accident. Rayne, Luke, and all of the others I encountered were so warm and supportive. That emotional piece aside, my expectations on cleanliness, responsiveness, and all other necesseries for a 3+ week hotel stay under challenging circumstances were met.

Location was top notch! But not much else positive to say. I had a room with a kitchen and my kitchen was not cleaned well at all. The coffee maker had sugar spilled all over it, and the refrigerator looked disgusting. The only two positives that I can say about my room would be that the bed was extremely comfortable with great pillows and the fireplace was exactly what I needed it for, a nice relaxing place to study. Would choose to stay elsewhere in the future personally.

Free parking was a real draw in the city. We were traveling with two young grandkids and felt safe and comfortable. We were afraid we would hear emergency sirens all night because of the location next to the medical center, but everything was quiet. We loved the fact that there is a Starbucks and a sports bar right inside the building. We entertained the kids at the pool and got carry-out dinner from the sports bar. No need to move the car after our long trip. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly. We purchased breakfast with our room and was given a menu to complete and the time we wanted it ready. Everything went smoothly and the food was delish. The only thing that didn't work as it should have was the card reader for the parking lot did not recognize a digital key, which was not a bit deal, just had to stop at front desk and get a key card.

Absolutely not walkable. Amtrak is across the river in Rensselaer. Taxi or bus. Or stay at a hotel closer to the east side of the river if you want to walk.
