If your in town and want the native feel of Albany come to this hotel. It is in a prime location and during the day a pleasant area to discover the local restaurants bars and shops that Albany has to offer. This is all in walking distance. The hotel has a gym, Starbucks, and a bar that has great food and cocktails. I came here in business and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here for leisure. I also want to add that the location and area felt safe for those concerned. You’ll be fine here, the staff is friendly and outgoing to make sure your comfortable.
Will never go back staff awful manager awful they take things out your room overcharged credit card by more than 1000 floors dirty and stained I don’t even believe this hotel been here for that short period of trine it looks like it been there forever
Overall service was good. Front desk personal very welcoming and helpful. Hotel very clean. Breakfast was OK but just OK. Morning complimentary coffee in lobby was welcome. Only 1 coffee pod in room. No creamers. Never offered honors food or beverage service.
Free parking was a real draw in the city. We were traveling with two young grandkids and felt safe and comfortable. We were afraid we would hear emergency sirens all night because of the location next to the medical center, but everything was quiet. We loved the fact that there is a Starbucks and a sports bar right inside the building. We entertained the kids at the pool and got carry-out dinner from the sports bar. No need to move the car after our long trip. Front desk staff was efficient and friendly. We purchased breakfast with our room and was given a menu to complete and the time we wanted it ready. Everything went smoothly and the food was delish. The only thing that didn't work as it should have was the card reader for the parking lot did not recognize a digital key, which was not a bit deal, just had to stop at front desk and get a key card.…
Positives: • Lorenzo (front desk) was very professional and informative. • The bed was comfortable. • Good TV channel selection. • Free parking. • Good neighborhood for walking. • Location convenient to many attractions. Needs improvement: • With the exception of Lorenzo and another male employee present at check-in, the staff was indifferent, not welcoming and barely looked up from the desk. • For a hotel that advertises an association with Albany Medical Center, it's amazing how unhealthy the environment is. • Although the entire property is supposed to be non-smoking, people who were smoking were regularly camped out on the bench in the entryway. The same group (not hotel guests) were there for hours on end, and left their cigarette butts, coffee cups and drink cans. This is the only entrance from the parking lot, and the only way to enter with luggage. If I were staying at the hotel to visit a family member in the hospital with a smoking-related illness, I would be devastated. One of the non-guests came to the lobby for complimentary morning coffee! (And walked right past the staffed front desk). A couple of guests were also smoking in this entry area. No smoking is impossible to enforce without 24 hour employee presence. • All that said, people do smoke and if there is not a smoking area, they will create one. How about making a designated area away from the entrance? The area between the hotel and the parking garage would be good for this. • Speaking of debris, the area outside the entrance and the parking lot looked as though they had not been swept in weeks. There was garbage and litter everywhere. The plants are dead. The floor mats in the vestibule were often curled up. (Do any employees ever make rounds or walk by this area and notice?) • The hallways were unbearably hot. • Room was AC noisy. • The cleaning staff was doing the best they could but everything (in and out of the room) could be cleaner. No way was anyone "sanitizing" elevator buttons and other high-touch surfaces. I do not blame the cleaning staff at all; I blame the hotel for booking beyond what its staff can handle. It has been a hard 18 months for everyone. The hotel might think booking to capacity is the best way to make up revenue but in actuality, poor reviews may counter that. • Like the majority of the hospitality industry, this hotel is probably short-staffed. If the hotel can't maintain the property and the service, they should not book all the rooms!…
