Location of hotel was perfect. Centrally located to ensure easy travel to attractions in Busan. Family Suite is huge! Tons of room for my family of four and the price was great. Room is dated though, needs some help. Furniture in the living room is to small for the size of the room and is very old. Wall paper was peeling in several areas around the room. When I approached the front desk with the issues I was surprised at how responsive they were. They bent over backwards to make sure our stay was pleasant. The sauna facility is one of the best parts of the hotel, very relaxing and super clean. Over all, not a bad hotel for a stay. With an update it would be amazing. We will stay here again.

s to all areas of Busan with most tourist destinations not requiring a bus transfer. Being about midway between the two most popular beachfront areas of Gwangalli and Haeundae, it was nice to have quick access to both areas. The hotel was reasonably priced and the rooms were very spacious with a kitchen. Despite six elevators being in operation there was a lot of time spent waiting for one. They also charge a bit high for the fitness center which didn’t even look that great. I got to use the sauna because of a promotional coupon but wouldn’t pay for the facilities that didn’t look much better than a typical neighborhood bath house.

We stayed at Centum as were attending a conference at BEXCO and it was pretty convenient (just across the street). Also there are nice coffee shops and restraunts nearby.

One advice, sun-facing rooms can get real hot sometimes, especially when aircon isn't at full swing.

We stayed for 2 nights and the first thing I noticed is that there's a stench in the room - probably because it's old. At night, we wanted to have the air-condition on but there was a noise and I couldn't sleep due to it. So I ended up switching it off.

Generally clean but I will not come back here.

Perfect location though - just right beside the Shinsegae Mall and subway is close!

You’re better off sleeping in your car. I think they forgot to put the mattress on the bed. It was like sleeping on a board even on top of the blanket. Don’t even try to sleep on your side. The staff was awful and refused to give us an extra pillow which would have been a total of three pillows for two people.

The Centum hotel is located near newly developed Centum area where shopping malls are close by. Considering the price, the hotel is not bad considering its location.I have stayed 3 nights in the hotel and stayed in Executive Room on 17th floor. However, I have found a lot of things which make this hotel not favorable to foreigners.

1. First impression
The hotel's lobby is a bit mess. There are convenient store, cafe, patisseries, and a bar/restaurant. This makes the lobby crowded all the time and it gives the first visitors an impression that this hotel is not secluded.

The receptionist are very young and give the impression that the hotel is young and friendly. However, the impression was gone instantly when I found the receptionists are not well experienced. Some of the didn't speak English well and couldn't attend one of our guests from Spanish speaking country and had accent of they own.

The bell boys charged KRW 3,000 (abt U$ 3) per luggage to be sent up to the room. Sending shopped items from the lobby through concierge also cost KRW 3,000 each time.

I think the worst of the hotel was the concierge itself. When needed the concierge told us he would take care of it and didn't do anything. We had to take care of ourselves or asked the concierge over and over again to make anything work.

There was no house phone ready, so we had to speak to the receptionist to make phone calls to the rooms.

2. Rooms
The rooms were okay by first look. Rooms were spacious and tidy considering the rate. The bed was okay and we could open the windows as well. However, the air-conditioning system was in Korean and our guests had problems adjusting the setting. Due to recent buildings the view wasn't impressive. Amenities were supplied but they were not top of the notch. I noticed later that using air-conditioning system generated fumes and strange odor - I had to sleep with my windows open since I just can't sleep with heat.

The bathroom had a tub but the whole bathroom got wet due to the arrangement of tub and shower. I think people would have different opinions on this setting.

There was a sink (invisible at first sight since it's hidden) but I couldn't find iron. Also I couldn't find the laundry bag either.

3. Services
They had room services but the menu was limited to two Korean soup dishes. There was no western dish available.

The breakfast buffet was not bad but they didn't have egg station - they only have fried eggs(over medium.) They also have Korean food.

They provide coupons - for complementary access to breakfast, sauna/gym, and cup of coffee each day. However, they were shown and included in the invoices - this could make the guest look bad esp. when they were on a business trip. I think this should be recognized and remedied immediately.

In general, the facilities were okay but the service was poor. I might stay in the hotel again but not with foreigners. Hope someone could look at the review and correct a few simple things at least.

I had a two bedroom suite in October. There was a full kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a living room and an entry foyer. My bedroom window had a view of the Shinsegae Department Store, the largest in the chain, and a Lotte Department store Both were part of the Centam Mall. The smaller bedroom had a very hard mattress and when I complained the next day, the staff immediately brought in a 3 inch thick foam pad which resolved the problem. The main bedroom bed had a memory foam mattress and was very comfortable. The walk in shower was amazing as you could shoot water in any direction. The Metro stop was extremely close to the hotel. If you got the elevator down to the station, you ended up in the Centam Mall which is reputedly one of the largest malls in the world.

Pro
1) couldn't find any. It was an average experience from room perspective

Cons
1) Pathetic checkin Staff - Lying through their teeth. Me and Missus had two rooms as part of business meetings. we were given same floor but opposite side of the building. we were told they are next door and as soon as we went to the floor we realized what had they done. Despite calling them multiple times and even going down to reception they didn't change the rooms to next to each other claiming the next door room just got booked while we were talking to them on intercom. Pathetic - They could have moved me, they could have her towards my room, they could have moved both to new floor. No not interested in customer service. Specially when half the rooms on the floor were empty

2) That brings me to another folly - This is the only hotel where the doors of empty rooms are kept open 24 hrs. Lights are dim on corridor and its eery when you walk past those rooms in the night or evening. specially when room entry lights light up when you walk past them.

3) Very stingy for bathroom consumables

4) HORRIBLE staff at eating area. Chefs or serving staff not willing to help or listen, pretty rude and pathetic.

5) Pathetic location - Too far off from main city. It just exists for conventions and they are taking guests for granted.

6) Dated hotel, not worth even a cent

The only saving grace was their head guy at Concierge desk, pretty helpful, even came out to guide us the way, helped to us in some Korean translations.

PLEASE AVOID HOTEL AT ALL COSTS

I chose the Centum just for one reason - nearest hotel to BEXCO where I had to attend a conference from 14-16 Sept 2017. I took a cab from the airport and the trip took about 1 hr and costs me 25,000 Won because the driver took the highway. Please do not take the black taxi as it is more costly compared to the white or silver colored taxis. Just tell the driver BEXCO and he will be able to send you to the Centum. I arrived near noon time but was told to wait till 3 pm for the check-in. So I walked around the BEXCO to familiarise myself with the place. After that I checked with the reception at about 2.30 pm and was allowed to check-in. The room is big with 2 single beds and a comfortable sofa which can act as a bed. There is a safe box and kettle for making hot drinks. A fridge is available with complimentary bottled mineral water which is replaced daily. What is unusual in the room is that it has a kitchenette with a IR cooking stove and a saucepan, a pot, some decent ceramic bowls for simple cooking, if you wished. Grocery can be bought from the Shinsegae supermart or Lotte mart just 2 blocks behind the hotel. However, since you are on holiday I would advise against it. Just try the numerous restaurants around the hotel or get on to the 2nd floor of Shinsegae shopping mall where there is a food court where there are plenty of stalls where you will be spoilt for choice of foods for a decent price. Otherwise you can go to basement area of the adjoining Lotte shopping mall where the choice of foods is rather limited and slightly more expensive. There is no tooth brushes or toothpaste provided. Much has been said about the design of the shower and bathtub. Indeed the steps leading to the bathtub are quite precarious and you have to sit and bath with the hand shower to minimise flooding the bathroom! The Centum metro station is at the basement of the shopping area. It will take you to anywhere is Busan if you follow the metro lines. Buffet breakfast is 22,000 Won and has a decent mix of Korean, western and a few Japanese stuffs. Although there were complaints that the bed tend to be rather hard I found it just nice and need not have to ask for an extra mattress. Pillows were clean and soft and provided a quiet, nice sleep. Frankly there isn't much to see around Haeundae district. If you are thinking of sightseeing, I would rather stay in one of the cheaper hotels around Nampo-dong with the Busan Station nearby. From Busan station you can take the city bus or metro to go anywhere you fancy visiting.

This is a nice hotel, close to Bexco conference center, Lotte shopping mall and the metro. You should not stay here beyond 3 or 4 day max. Same buffet breakfast everyday, only one coffee machine and very slow, 2 toasters also very slow, so the idea of a quick breakfast is not feasible. Staff at the breakfast room does not speak English or any other language than Korean and the ladies at the entrance counter are far from being welcoming. Rooms are very dark, only 4 hangers, A/C does not work well and the instructions are not even half-translated to have an idea which button to press, noisy and TV has very few channels in English, none in French or Spanish at least to watch news in the evening or to leave it on while you prepare yourself in the morning. The shower is a disaster, very small and badly done, so you have no other option than to flood your bathroom while having a shower. The cleaning staff are great, my room was dry and clean every single day and they are all friendly. The room service is very limited in food and service hours. The hotel has two convenience store downstairs, a coffee shop with friendly service, good coffee and food. This is a perfect hotel for a short business trip, not for coupes or family.

Hello! This is Daniel, Guest Relations Officer at the Haeundae Centum Hotel. Our hotel is only a minute walk away from the Centum City subway exit #3. If you happen to have a lot of luggage with you, I suggest you use the exit #1, which is an elevator that takes you up to ground level. Once exiting the elevator, all you have to do is cross the street which should bring you to exit #3, and again from there, a one minute walk to our hotel. I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

My breakfast was not included in the price. Buffett style breakfast is served on the 4th floor. We gave the girl our room no. and signed a ticket which was later charged to the room.

There are many BBQ and Korean food restaurants around. I don't remember the name, but I recommend a Korean-Italian style restaurant on the 7th floor of Shinsegae Building, very good food but the wine is overpriced.
