I have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Seacloud hotel with my family. Hotel was chosen for it's location and the good reviews on Trip Advisor.

We had a superior room which was very spacious for 3 of us with 3 separate beds. The room did have a kettle and 3 mugs, there is also a fridge in the room and an electric cooking hob. You are charged for the hire.use of cooking utensils if you wish to cook in the room. Clean towels were given daily. To use wi-fi and the computer in the room is chargable but there are 2 computers with free we-fi access in the reception area.

The hotel is opposite the Novotel hotel, Busan Aquarium and the beach. The Metro and main line station are about a 10 minutate walk away.

I was very impressed with the reception staff. I needed a camera battery as I was film instead of a digital camera. They had not seen the camera battery before and went out of their way to help me. Reception was not busy during this time, 1 receptionist viewed the internet and the other receptionist then made phone calls to a local Home Plus store and was able to locate my battery. As I already had a map of Busan the receptionist drew on the map where Home Plus was based and how to get there by using the local metro station. (Home Plus is like a Walmart big store and sells household goods, electirical/digital equipment, clothing, books and much more). Home Plus in based in Dongbaek, about a 5minute walk from the station.

My daughter also wanted to purchase CDs and this time a female receptionist was able to give her 3 stores and where they were sited, 2 of these was local and in Busan.

Local Transport
Metro
We frequently used the Metro station, similar to the Docklands light railway (greater London). We purchased a day travel ticket. Won 3,500 (£2.19 each). The ticket machine only takes Won 1,000 notes or small coins. Any larger money denominations has to be changed down by using the change machine. There is a station staff memeber who speaks very good English. If you are travelling on the metro frequently you can be a weekly travel card and you then top this up with money (similar to the London Oyster Card). We did not pursue this option. The Metro has air conditioning.

The public toilets in the station are free to use, spotlessly clean, they have a western style toilet and a Korean style (which is a ceramic and in the floor). The outside of the toilet doors has a picture of which toilet type each cubile contains).

Bus
We only used the bus once to visit the Temple, I noted from a previous review that you catch the 118 bus from Metro station exit no 7. You need to have the correct money for the fare as this does not give change. It cost won 1,200 each way £00.75p)
The journey took about 30 minutes

Taxis
Taxis are available outside of the hotel 24 hours a day.

Travelling from the Airport to the hotel.
We were approached by a driver in the arrivals area to take us to the hotelwhich cost Won 50,000 (£31.29)

Returning back from the hotel to Gimhae we used a taxi from outside the hotel and was charged Won 27,500 £17.21

If you are approached at the Aiport, I advise you to find out first if they are a licensed taxi or a limousine driver as in ignorance to us, we were ripped off.

There are ample restaurants in the area, Korean restuarants are the cheapest to eat at.

I would definitely return back to this hotel.

Went to Busan for a business trip and checked in this hotel. Hotel was in a good location within Haeundae area. We went there by bus 1003, very accessible, only a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

It was near the beach and was very near a lot of both traditional Korean and international restaurants. Too bad we went there during winter the water was tempting... :)

Thank you for using our hotel. Our hotel has rooms up to 30 floors and you can enjoy sea views from the higher floors. In addition, Haeundae beach is very close to the road. We are continuing to develop the breakfast menu and will try our best to give you delicious and fresh food. If you have another chance, please come to our hotel. Thank you again for using our hotel.

We stayed here 10 years ago the first time we moved to Korea and were happy to return but we were very disappointed this time. The hotel is very run down and worn, hallway carpets are extremely stained. Wifi in our room never worked. No coffee or tea in the room so we had to buy it. We had two rooms for 5 people and opted for breakfast included, we only found out at breakfast the next morning that its one breakfast per room so I guess the other three people can get stuffed?... We ended up eating out every morning as breakfast was inedible and cold. Everytime I opened our door I had a view of a dirty storage closet with matresses and chairs, lets not forget this is a 4 star hotel with 4 star prices. The cleaning staff use the client elevators and shove you to the back with thier laundry trolleys etc or hold up the lifts, sometimes it took us 10 minutes to get downstairs. The pool is at etra cost. The gym is a joke, actually part of the hallway with rooms that give onto it and its got to be 30 degrees in there, no gym flooring, people sweat onto the carpet...
Only positives are location, rooms are clean and room size. Needs to drop a star, drop the prices and start updating.

We were fortunate enough to have the two bedroom penthouse suite during our week long stay. The room was absolutely fabulous! Much larger than an average 2 bedroom apartment in the US. The entry floor was heated which was a nice touch and the beds were very comfortable as well.

The staff was gracious and extremely hospitable and the views from the room were spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone on vacation or on business in the Busan area.

This review is for the Kunoh Seacloud Hotel which is in the same building but you must check in on the 4th floor. Two hotels operate under the Seacloud umbrella so make sure you know which one you're booking for.
It's a tall building right next to Haeundae Beach so it's easy to find. When you get out of the subway, just look up and you will see it.
Like I said, the checking in part was a little irritating and confusing as there's a lobby for the other one on the 2nd floor for the OTHER Seacloud Hotel only to be told to go up to 4th. Once you check in, you use another elevator to go up to your room.
We were on the 20th floor with ocean view which was nice. The room has everything you will need but it just looked tired. It's seen better days....but we slept fine and it's quiet(then again, it was off season so not sure what it's like during the summer). Saturday night there was loud karaoke playing somewhere but couldn't figure out where.
There is the option of paying a little more for free breakfast which was convenient. Nothing fancy but it has the basics. Korean version of bacon and sausage and there was scrambled and hard boiled eggs. Basic bread station, cold cereal, porridge and bibimbap station along with salad station.
It's a really convenient location due to the close proximity to the beach and restaurant. It's just a pain to take 2 different elevators every time you need to exit/enter to go to your room.

During a 2 month stay in Korea, I decided to go to Busan for a night and visit some relatives. So, I started by looking on Expedia for a 4 star in Haeundae Beach. Many of the hotels were about $220-250US a night. I found the Kunoh Seacloud Hotel with a partial oceanview for $80/night. It seemed to be a no brainer considering it had a 4.5 star rating.

One thing must be made clear. There is the Kunoh Seacloud Hotel and then there is the Seacloud Hotel. They are different, but they both are located in the same building. This review is for the Kunoh Seacloud portion of the hotel.

As far as location, this hotel is practically oceanfront, but the building itself is quite underwhelming. Don't expect to see the name of the hotel on the building either. Be sure to tell your taxi to call the hotel for the address or tell them it is across the street from the Novotel Hotel. If you say the Seacloud Hotel, they will not know what you are talking about.

So, you walk into the front of the building to elevators saying that the hotel lobby is on the 4th floor. When you get there, it is the lobby for the Seacloud. In order to get to the Kunoh Seacloud, you must get on a different elevator and go to the 7th floor. Once you get there, the lobby is like a makeshift desk in a random hallway that you check in at. The carpet was stained and dirty as well as the walls in the halls on the way to the room. I was surprised as to how anyone including Expedia would have rated this place as 4.5 stars. I was preparing myself for the worst based on how dingy the hallway was.

Oddly enough, the room was quite clean. It was also nice to see a washing machine and a kitchenette. The sheets and towels were a little old and had holes. My stay was only for one night, so, I can't say much else about the room. It wasn't as nice as the professional pics that they used, but it was a decent room.

So, as far as my recommendations, I'd stay again for the price. I would have had to spend $70 on a room in a love motel, so, it was a good find for the price. I'm not clear if all hotels that are not love motels are considered 4 stars in Korea, but this place is a solid 3 stars. Prime location would push it up to a 3.5 star, but it is in no way a 4 star hotel. I guess a good American description of this hotel room would be a Courtyard Marriott room that hasn't been recently renovated.

Stayed here with my family for 3 nights! As compared to Novotel just across the road ( which i stayed in my previous Busan trip), i'd say this hotel is better. Yes, it's not as near and dead on the beach as Novotel, but it's actually taller so u get a gorgoeus view above the roof of novotel. I got here on the No. 2 shuttle bus with no hassle. The market is just 5 mins away with lots of great restaurants.. I started my morning with a jog along the Haeundae beach! The subway is 10 mins walk and got me to many other destinations with no problem. However, I'd say forget the breakfast as it's really average and it's not worth the extra money. The front desk staff is efficient. I'm really happy with the hotel and highly recommend to my friends as well.

We stayed here for 2nights and we very happy with our stay.

Pros
Location: Centrally location on Haeundae beach with restaurants/shops/bus stops right outside the hotel. Fantastic view of Busan and Haeundae beach from hotel room (level 23).

Staff: extremely helpful, polite and friendly with English speakers (my Korean was terrible so very thankful!)

Room: very big room with lots of space for suitcases etc, the bed was HUGE (and this is from 2 people who are 173cm and 190cm) and comfortable.

Breakfast: I suppose we had had bad breakfast experiences so this was a bonus for us. Lots of options for non-Korean style i.e. eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, yoghurt, sausages. I would recommend to the hotel though to CLEAN THE WINDOWS in the breakfast rooms, lots of build up of pollution on the outside blocking the nice view and maybe change the carpet ;)

Cons
Pool: coming from Australia, the concept of "swimming season" was crazy so didnt get to enjoy the pool on the 30 degree days :(

It felt like parts of the hotel needed abit of a refurbishment but everything else was great!

I staid at the Seacloud hotel for two nights during the Busan Artshow. The location is good if you need to go to the Bexco or if you want to be close to the beach. There are also lots of restaurant and bars in the area.
Regarding the hotel itself, the room was average, big but with no charm and with a strange design - bathroom was a sort of cabin in the middle of the room. Service was also not that great - I arrived in the middle of the afternoon but had to wait 15 minutes to get my room. Would recommend this hotel only if there is no other option.

There are Buses which are not too bad. Taxi is best option though especially if traveling with 2 or more people.
