I have booked this hotel through agoda.com which by that time offered the best rate amongst other website. The fact that I got a relatively good price, I also considered the facilities of the hotel, its proximity to the nearest subway / train station etc , and its offer for a FREE breakfast and wifi.

The reviews on tripadvisor really helped me decide to book with this hotel. Though some reviews are a bit off as based on some "personal preferences".

There are two Toyoko-inn hotels between Jungang station and Busan Station. One being right next to Busan station (Toyoko-Inn Hotel Busan station 1) and the other being 5-minute walk from Jungang station (via subway). -- Toyoko-Inn Hotel Busan station 2.

And Iam making a review of Toyoko-Inn Hotel Busan station 2.
Now just like any solo traveler (or groups / families for that matter) usually needs to know on how to get to this hotel from Gimhae International Airport. After going through Immigration and customs clearance, proceed to exit and look for the City bus station -- wait for the airport limousine bus at section no. 2.

Read carefully: It is very tricky when you dont know how to read or speak korean -- when at section 2 waiting for the bus, you will find a bus route & schedule on that area ... you must wait for the airport limousine bus going to: SEOMYEON / BUSAN STATION!! As other airport bus route goes to Haeundae 1 and 2!! Another note: There are several buses stopping infront of section 2 and this will confuse you on which bus to ride!! So make sure to ask the driver before hopping in.

Just to give you a clearer picture on what bus to ride for Seomyeon / Busan station: look for a white big bus with a name infront of the wind shield that reads:

GIMHAE AIRPORT -- SEOMYEON / BUSAN STATION.

Be ready to pay the bus driver 6,000won per person. No need to purchase ticket -- pay the driver directly, Make sure you have an exact amount -- as drivers dont have spare change to return bigger bills. Your 6,000won is dropped directly inside a translucent box -- so this why you need to have the exact change.

This bus drops you off on both the toyoko-inn hotels ( station 1 & 2). However, bus stops on the opposite road if you will be staying at toyoko inn hotel station 1 while the bus stops RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL if you stay at toyoko-inn hotel station 2!!

For those taking the subway from Gimhae Intl Airport, its very easy:

1. Take the subway from the airport and change train in Sasang station
2. From sasang station look for the green line (line 2) going to Jangsan station.
3. Change train at seomyeon station and look for the orange line (line 1) going to Sinpyeong station.
4. Stop at Jungang station and exit at exit no: 17.

Note: I dont recommend taking the subway if you have big and heavy luggages! There are too many changing of stations which makes it too difficult to carry luggages between stations!

Once you exit at no. 17. (Just like when you had your last step at the exit -- look up!!) there is a very big media screen and you can see the name HOTEL TOYOKO-INN!!
Follow the road -- its a mere 5-6 minute walk! Jungang station is nearer the hotel than stopping at busan station which is about 10-minute walk and several pedestrians to cross.

And now about the hotel:

Being in Japan several times, I already have a picture on how it is like to stay in one these hotels. (as this is a Japanese chain of hotels). Rooms are very clean with a decent size (for asians like me) the bed was a bit hard for my taste but a nice one for a budget hotel and you are provided with one pillow (just because maybe Iam the only one staying in the room -- if you get a double room for 2-people probably you'll get 2-pillows - hahahhahahaha).

Room has an airconditioning unit , a TV, desk, hairdryer, mini ref, lamp, a safe for your valuables, hanging rack (hangers are only provided -- no closet-- and why would you expect a closet for a small space?? ) -- and nice clean bathroom that is really small. But I would care less, as it provides me with a toilette seat, sink, and shower that would provide my basic need of personal hygiene. Shampoo + conditioner + body wash are all provided for free. Towels are provided too but not other amenities like comb, razor/shaving cream, and toothbrush. This hotel abides with the korean recycling act that limits the distribution of disposable consumable items. (hmmmm --- environment friendly!!). So this means, you have to purchase them at the front desk or better yet -- bring it your self. And another plus factor is that this hotel offers FREE wifi in the room! I had a very good signal in my room!! Great way to check on my emails and wechats!

As the hotel offers free breakfast -- expect quite a number of guest during breakfast time (07:00 - 09:30). So I guess be early if you want to get a good seat. I personally like the choices of food for breakfast (very asian -- kimchi, egg roll, fish cake , miso soup or clear vegetable soup, white steam rice, cabbage salad with cherry tomatoes etc... view my photos). Others might not want these kinds of food -- but I enjoyed them.
And oh -- dont expect free coffee -- you have to insert 100won in the coffee machine to have a small half filled cup of coffee. I usually prepare 300won every breakfast so I can have 3-cups of half filled coffee in the morning!!

Front desk staffs are very kind as well. Speak a relatively good english. For someone like me who can speak conversational Japanese, It was easier for me as the staffs are both fluent in Korean and Japanese.

By the way, the hotel is situated next to a 7-eleven store making it very convenient for me to just by food or drinks anytime of the day. And a short walk towards busan station takes you several restaurants , shops and bus station.

Overall, in terms of convenience, quality and value for money, I will still stay in this hotel in my future visit to Busan.

The hotel is located in between Busan Station and Jungang Station, however Jungang Station is much nearer to the hotel. A 24 hours convenience store is just located beside the hotel. Walk though the main street to the opposite side of the hotel, there are a lot of local Korean restaurants in the alleys, cheap and good!

The best thing is the airport limousine bus station is just exactly in front of the hotel! Hence, make sure that if you reach Busan by plane, you must take the airport limousine bus (to Nampo-dong) to the hotel and it save a lot of time and energy! It takes around 50 minutes to an hour to reach at hotel, and the bus fare is 6000 won per person.

The Twin Room is super small but very clean. The Korean breakfast is okay, just the restaurant for having breakfast is too small and not enough seats, long queue for having the breakfast. Try to avoid of using the elevators during the check-out time (10am), because there are many residents but only three small elevators. Hence, arrange your time of going out before 10am.

The front desk staffs were willing to help, but they gave us some wrong information during our four nights stay. So be smart on that. If you decide to have room cleaning, you need to stay out from your room before 4pm, which is quite a weird rule. If you may back to your room in the afternoon, make sure to inform the front desk staffs before 10am that you don't need room cleaning service.

You can walk to Nampo-dong, Yongdusan Park and Jagalchi Market from the hotel. However, during winter, a 4-persons trip or you just simply shop too much at Nampo-dong, grab a taxi back to the hotel can simplify your day, it only costs around 2800 won and will not more than 3500 won per taxi.

Oh ya please remember that the pillow of the hotel is quite weird, one side is full of cotton but another side is not. Hence, while you are sleeping, remember not to turn the pillow to another side otherwise you may complain why the pillow is so uncomfortable. Besides, the rooms don't have a good sound-proof. I can hear the strong-wind-blowing from the corridor during the whole night.

Overall, if you just need a place to rest at night and recharge yourself for the second day, you can consider Toyoko-inn Busan Station 2. The TOP-THREE REASONS that you may choose the hotel: Location, Cleanliness and WiFi (amazing high-speed WiFi in the rooms!).

We stayed in the hotel for nearly a week in June and it was on Business trip. From Gimhae International airport, we took the Light rail followed by Metro/ underground train, getting off at Busan station, then walked for about 5-7 minutes to the hotel (easily located as having its name shown clearly on the roof). Since it is a large hotel with hundreds of rooms that Cleaning takes time, thus the Hotel rule of Check-in time is 16:00, but the check-in process did not take much time,
The receptionists were helpful on our enquiries on attractions, although a bit dull shown on their faces, due to a lot of front-line work.
The room given was on high floor and spacious, and the bathroom was OK , especially the water pressure in the shower was strong enough. The daily cleaning was very good, and the maids kept our room clean and tidy.

The breakfast room is on the first floor, and we were asked to put our breakfast card on the plastic box on entry. Although the foods were not very splendid, yet there were sufficient varieties, both Korean and western tastes, like korean soup, various dishes of Korean foods to be taken with the rice, as well as bread, sausages, juices, tea,.. However, we were asked to put 100 won in the Coffee machine if we take Coffee. On leaving the hotel daily in handling our daily Business matters, the transports are very convenient, such buses, underground train, as well as taxis.
On our spare time, through various types of ( thus convenient) transport vehicles, we visited the temples, big Department stores ( Lotto,.. ), varieties in dried markets as well as the Wet fish market (1 metro stop away). Nearby to the hotel, there are many (big and small ) restaurants and stalls serving Korean cuisines of which the prices are reasonable. We like the streets ( about 8 -10 minutes' walk from our hotel) selling Chinese and Russian products and sovernirs.

Overall, we enjoyed the hotel services, with nearby shopping and eateries being convenient, and thus we would come back to this hotel again in a few months' time on another trip meeting our Business partners here in Busan.

Situated next to Busan station. There's also a subway station next to it. Ample food at the opposite main road. Taxi outside the hotel to Gimhae airport around 16k won. The city tour bus stop is also at the door step of this hotel. There's a bus airport limousine at the main road. Very convenient!

good hotel at a cheap price. location of this hotel is very strategic , even though at a low price , facilities were provided very okay . shortage of hotel is only 1 , which is very less facilities elevators . when we want to go down to the lobby we had to wait almost 20-25 minutes because the elevator was full , when the lift provided by this hotel 3 but still less memadahi given the very small size . For faster so we use the emergency stairs .

Location wise it's good for the port and the high speed train station (both walkable). On the surface it looks as if there isn't much in the area apart from banks but if you turn right out of the hotel and then right again you'll come into an area of coffee shops and restaurants (mostly Japanese and Italian from what I saw), if you turn left out of hotel then in a few blocks you'll reach China Town. There's also a Russian Embassy somewhere nearby so (especially towards China Town there are Russian restaurants and a lot of the places have Russian menus.
Rooms are clean, have kettle and fridge but are small. There are a couple of English channels on the Tv, wifi is free and fast.
Toyoko is a Japanese chain and the rooms are exactly like Japanese hotels - small with a tiny bathroom including bath tub and Japanese toilet and everything is spotless.
There is a free laundry (dryers and washing machines are both free), both are fine though the dryers take a while.
Free buffet breakfast is a mix of Korean (kimchi, rice and quails eggs yesterday, kimchi rice and baby fish today) and Western (omelette, bread and jam, frankfurters). Coffee is not free however.
Really good choice - we moved here after a couple of nights at the W Motel in Symeon; room in the Toyoko was about 200x cleaner and about 50% smaller.
