The Hotel Paragon - rated on this site as over 3 stars - is what I would consider over-rated. Yes, you will get a bed, and yes it will likely keep you dry while you’re there, but that’s about it. I stayed here as a compromise with my clients because it was closer to their offices than hotels I had been staying at which were across town. I moved hotels after 2 nights. I was placed on the 10th floor. I immediately noticed that the air conditioning was not working, so the air in the room was stagnant and warm. I found out later that the hotel had turned it off for the winter - to save money I guess. The sounds coming through the windows were enough to wake me up - either the nightclub nearby or the sound of the elevator motors mounted above my floor. The room was not well maintained - you can see from the photos. There were very few outlets for electronics, none of them were western, and the wiring of their lights was all taped up. Nothing was written in english and I didn’t find out that they provided water until I was leaving. I attempted to make the best of it by ordering some food - it didn’t seem like anyone had eaten there for a while. To summarize: skip this place unless you’re desperate. They’re clearly not putting forth any effort to make your stay even remotely nice.…
I can’t say this is an average hotel because it really isn’t, unless you are really use to low quality places. It’s relatively clean, but the hotel overall and the rooms are dated. The tub had spots on it where the coating was gone and exposed rusted metal was coming through. Parking is horrible and very limited. Security to the hotel and each floor is really bad. Anyone can go to any floor right off the street. I needed a spare key and went to the front desk and told them I wanted a key to room 915; they gave me one without asking for ID or asking my name. The good thing is, if all you are looking for is a temporary bed then this is your place. There are a lot of food options within 1/4-1/2 a mile from the hotel, all within walking distance.
The hotel is in a good, central location. I had breakfast in the hotel which was tasty but not cheap. Breakfast starts at 6.30 a.m. only. This is too late for business travellers that need to start their day early. I would have expected a breakfast at 6.00 a.m. The room and the hotel is not really something special but fairly priced and clean.
We chose to stay at the Paragon because of its (apparent) close proximity to the airport and to prevent a long drive from Geoje to catch an early morning flight. However, the journey from the hotel to the airport took us 20 mins and the traffic was quite low. Also,be aware that many of the Busan taxis run on LPG and the LPG tanks are in the boot. If you have large or a number of bags this can be an issue. Hotel was OK. Staff were not what you would call welcoming but efficient. Rooms were ordinary but adequate. Only 2 small bottles of water in the mini bar and the TV had no English channels other than BBC news. Breakfast doesn't start until 0700 so a bite before an early flight is a no, no. Also, I believe that room service stops at 2200 hours. There a large bar on the reception level and live music most nights. We ate in the bar which has a good menu but it is expensive for a place such as this. We planned on trying to eat out but there was very little information available on the surrounding eateries, other than in Korean. OK for a short stay but a couple of things to keep in mind.…
I selected the hotel based on the review of and the location which is close to the airport as I had to take a flight early in the morning. In the first rooms the carpet, curtains and bathroom were dirty, I took a couple of pictures and showed it the staff of the reception who looked surprised, they changed my room but unfortunately the second room was the dirty as well. They showed me 3 more rooms which were all in the same filthy condition. A suite was offered, which looked at first view more up-to date but the bath and rubber anti slip mat were gross, a bottle from a previous guest was under the bed and a under the cushions of the 3 sofas I could find a layer of dust and crumbs. The hotel is completely outdated and need urgent update, the housekeeping manager should be fired immediately. Frontdesk staff was professional and called his manager to report the issue and proposed an upgrade or to cancel the stay and a refund, it was too late to find another hotel so I decided to stay…
Rooms are clean and 100% ok, food is next to nono. Expensive breakfeast with very simple offer. The restaurant has not much choice and service is slow. Restauant staff likes to play with their mobiles.
Room was okay and was serviced daily, however the bed was not that comfy. There are plenty of restaurants and other fun things to do nearby. There is also a bus/subway station within a quick walking distance.
Stayed there for 2 nights. The room was ok. Minibar empty except water. Tv only Korean manual. Staff is friendly when not busy with their mobile phones. Only one empty restaurant open on a Friday. The two present staff did never look if guest needed anything. Mobile phone adicts. For an early check in st 9 a.m. hotel charged 50% of room.
If you need to stay near the industrial area surrounding the airport, need to get to the Port or you have a short connecting stay is your best option. Clean safe with a decent internet connection and good room size. The hotel is old but enough. Breakfast with some western options......you will survive. The área has many local restaurants. Walking distance a supermarket with a food court. 10 minutes away from airport when traffic is light, taxi for usd 12. Be aware at rush our traffic gets very ugly. You have a fast train option to the airport too station one block away from hotel. There are much better hotels in Hundae Beach but traffic is horrible if you dont want to be on a car half of the day avoid.
Stayed for one night in room 1001, the elevators are right in the back of the room with terrible noise in every minute. Don't take the rooms beside the elevators. Other than that there are nice people.
