The hotel grounds are stunning and impeccably kept. Our double bedded room was spacious & comfortable, though the dining and drinking options on-site are quite pricey. However, every staff member we encountered at the hotel, from the bellman to the front desk staff to the concierge desk, as well as the pool attendants and groundskeepers, provided outstanding service. Kudos to the Shilla Jeju team!

This high end resort is classy and luxurious with live music jazz and classical in the lobby. Feels more high end than the Lotte next door. The beds and aircon are good. Rooms are good sized but not huge. Bathrooms are well appointed and spacious. There are no blackout curtains just wooden shutters so the light comes in. They should add blackout curtains. Beware there are some toothbrushes and things on top of the minibar that aren’t free. The stuff in the bathroom is free. There is a 7 Eleven in the garden of the Lotte and a store in the All Suites next door. Check in and checkout are efficient. And bell staff are helpful and friendly. The concierge is helpful in arranging transport for sightseeing. The hotel is set back from the beach. Right now the beach access staircase is under construction. So you have to go to the next door hotel to walk to the beach. They should tell you at check in.
The restaurants are pricey so most guests eat out. Seems a shame not to lower prices a bit then the restaurants won’t be almost empty. I needed extra pillows and towels because I was in a triple and they only gave 2 sets one day but Housekeeping / front desk didn’t answer after many rings. Had to tell them at the lobby. Need to have more staff answering the phones. The kids pool is crowded in the evenings but the adult pool is fine.

This hotel is great for families and larger group.
It's one of the biggest resort in Jeju also one of the oldest 5 star.
The grounds is huge with a lot of trails connecting to the beach
and resorts next to it.

It is a little outdated and older but their service is top notched and great for FAMILY fun. Also the there are a lot of food restaurant option on site but it is $$$$.
If you are a couple looking for a quiet tranquil getaway i would stay here.

Old, worn and dirty. This hotel needs a makeover.

Hard to believe this is a five star resort. Not worth the money. I’ve stayed at three star hotels that were nicer.

Take a look at the attached photos. The carpet is worn and dirty. The walls and doors are chipped. The furniture is chipped and scratched.

There is no privacy in the toilet. The bedroom is separated from the bathroom and toilet by a window with a metal blind that does not completely cover the window. There is no separate door for the toilet.

The electrical outlets were dirty and dusty. See the attached photo.

The phone and electrical controls are not modern and were difficult to navigate.

The only reason for not giving a one star is the restaurant servers were nice. (I never saw a manager.)

It’s also not on the beach. Maybe a 20 minute walk away.

See the attached photos.

Stay elsewhere.

Currently visiting.
It's Christmas, but I was looking forward to having a Kids Friendly and a Monkey event.

First understand room aging
But the door is cut, so the toilet door doesn't close.
It's not cut and the thread doesn't stick to the lock.
That's what room aging said.
It smells weird from front of the 5th floor Elbe to the room.
I smelled something first, and the other guest in Elbetashin said it smelled like pesticide.

There's not even a pool show on Christmas Eve, so today's the worst performance. I think he's too poor for Kenshire.

It's winter, there's not a lot of people. There's no slippers in the pool.

I don't think I'm gonna come again.
It's not friendly, most of them are college students, and they don't have any staff. If they die, they're too messy about what's going on with Jeju.

Overall, good service and some staff members do their best to communicate in English and deal with foreigners.
The hotel is for couples or families without children. The pools are limiting small children. Some pools and jacuzzis are only for adults. No special pool for small children. This is complicated for parents with kids of different ages. Good buffet breakfast and excellent musical group singing by the pool.

Not the type to write reviews but had to write this one. Horrible experience. Was not allowed to check in until 1pm and when I did check in was told room was not ready for another hour. Then they got my rooms wrong. Went to the pool bar and ordered just one burger. Took over an hour to get the burger. Horrible service at this hotel.

We were so impressed by our stay at the Shilla Jeju that we continue to talk about it to this day. The staff are courteous and treat you like royalty, the rooms were beyond luxurious and VERY clean, the view was incredible, the food was wonderful. I cannot say enough about this hotel, would stay again in an instant!

We stayed 3 nites at The shilla Jeju . Our rooms were a deluxe double, facing the sea. However, coming from Lotte Hotel Seoul where we stayed for 4 nites, the rooms at The shilla were instantly disappointing. Even our teenaged children commented "This hotel feels very cheap n basic !) I know this is a resort hotel n the furnishings , I supposed, r supposed to reflect resort living but the furniture n bed, tables, lounge chair all didnt look luxurious, very unbecoming of a luxury-class hotel. ( Hey I know what expensive rattan furniture shd look like!). The toilet accessories r a bare minimum- no tooth brushes, no shaver. For a hotel charging more than $USD 500 a nite, the room n ungenerous toilet accessories came as an unpleasant shock. This hotel is v busy n u hear noisy guests talk along corridors. The hotel reception looks pretty luxurious but dont be fooled. What was worse was the hotel booklet describing the hotel facilities etc r ALL in Korean, causing us to wonder what we r missing out. N we did missed the complimentary wine tour because we didnt know that the tour is only in the evening ! (lost on us!!!) Even the toilet bidet is in Korean. The tv channels r mainly Korean with no translated channels unlike those at The Lotte. Since it has been around for a long time, it just tells u that English-speaking travellers are not welcome there.
I would never trust The Shilla brand ever again!
