This hotel was built in 1959 located right in the middle of Li Shan (aka Pear Mountain). It is one of three traditional Chinese Palace style hotels in Taiwan, designed by the same architect Mr. Yang. The hotel was one of Chiang Kai Sheik's favorites where he used to greet foreign visitors. I stayed in the hotel in February this...

During our stay at the Lishan guest house we stayed at the old building. They gave us the worse room which was near the entrance with lots of noise. In the room self there were many bugs and humidity spots on the walls. There is no wifi in the rooms of the old building either. On top of that I...

Historical setting up in the mountain, beautiful exterior, one less star for not decent breakfast. Ambience: Located amidst the clouds in a surreal setting. The guesthouse was built by C.K.S . It was designed by the same architect, Yang Cho-cheng (楊卓成), who designed the Grand Hotel in Taipei City, in 1965. This hotel used to be the dwelling house of...

Rooms are quite new and really nice and comfortable. Fantastic view from the balcony. Very friendly staff. Dinner was included and it was so good, kind of a fondue and really enough to eat. We stayed there only for one night while our bicycle trip through Taiwan and we enjoyed the stay

We had pretty good time here, happy with our room and service. Dinner is good, but breakfast was under our expectation. Lishan Guest House, located in the middle of Taiwan, is one of the only three Chinese palace-style hotels in Taiwan, with beautiful scenery and good Feng Shui. It's was built under the order of Chiang Kai-Shek, as his holiday...

A group of 9 of us stayed during a cycling trip. The staff could not have been more helpful arranging the bookings for the team and the warm welcome on arrival. The restored palace is a stunning venue and the Taroko mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop!

This is one of my favorite hotels in Taiwan. I visited here in 1988 and again in November of this year. It has grown some since the 1988 visit, but is still the same great hotel. Rooms are really nice for such an old hotel. Matter of fact, up to date and better than a 5 star hotel in the...
