If only this wonderful nice, clean hotel with super-friendly staff, nice spacious rooms with great beds, lovely food and a clean, cool swimming pool were in a different neighbourhood!!! The noise from the nextdoor church starts a 6 a.m. (on MOST days, not only Sundays)...More
This lodge is a little out of the way and is adjacent to a church with loud speakers broadcasting sermons. The grounds are pleasant. The food reasonably good. The rooms are neat and clean. It is very serviceable.
This lodge has been here for quite a few years, and is frequently used as a starting point for group tours/safaris. We were here as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel safari trip in July 2014. The rooms are fine, the service pretty good, and...More

I know OAT picked up people in our group from Kilimanjaro, which is approximately a 1 hour drive to Arusha. In our case we did it differently. We flew into Nairobi because the airfare was about one half of flying into Kilimanjaro from Los Angeles on Turkish Airlines.
In Nairobi, we booked a shuttle to Arusha which was really cheap, only $25 one way($50 r/t). The drive is about 3.5 hours with a stop at the Kenya / Tanzania border. Probably from Kilimanjaro to Arusha it's really cheap on local shuttle services.
We used East Africa Shuttle and they were very reliable. I am sure they pick up at Kilimanjaro to and know they have an office in Arusha. Google them for schedule and contact information if you are interested. Good luck and enjoy!.
