I have been staying at Karama Lodge off and on since 2000 and love it. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Monkeys jump in the trees above each bungalow-style room. The central eating area inside and out is clean and lovely. It is an affordable option for those of us wanting to be "in town" on the East side of...

I stayed here for one night on the recommendation of a friend. The room was 'rustic', fine if you like that kind of thing I guess. Breakfast was poor quality and I was awoken very early by a lot of noise from neighbouring religious buildings - this is because the design of the rooms allow outside noise to penetrate. The...

This lodge seems to be very popular for those heading on safari or hiking Mt Kilimanjaro - it's location however does not provide the ability to have a good night's sleep due to the all night noise of barking dogs and crowing roosters as well as a local music hot spot down the hill. The people working at the lodge...

It's either glamour camping or bare bone lodge & spa. The balcony over looking Arusha is awesome as the lodge is elevated above the ground. Bed was comfortable, shower and toilet has separate cubicles and there are power to charge your phones/camera. For what you pay it's a satisfying stay and you will not be disappointed. The dining area is...

We spent the first night of our honeymoon trip in this lodge situated on the hills near Arusha. We really enjoyed the room with a nice view on Mont Neru, the tasteful dinner and the breakfast. The cabanes are inside the forest and in the morning you can see plenty of small monkeys all around. Since it was our honeymoon,...

We stayed here on the first night before going on safari. We stayed in "the white house", which is indeed a nice white house with all simple things you need. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The beds and shower were ok-ish, don't expect too much. The view and the whole atmosphere is great. The staff is very friendly.

We used this lodge as a starting and finishing point for our safari and stayed four nights. It is a good lodge with friendly service and beautiful surroundings, and one some days velvet monkeys walking arround (but not disturbing). However, the lodge is now surrounded by the very rapid growing city of Arusha and therfore there is indeed some noise...

I was part of a school trip but had to be separated from our main group to care for a student that had required surgery. The staff at Karama were so caring and thoughtful towards my student, they couldn't do enough for her, this also included supporting me with contacting medical advice. They were happy for me to order off...

We stayed here in July for one night when we arrived in Tanzania. We skipped dinner as we were both tired from the journey so I cant comment on the evening meal there. the room was basic but comfortable, and the landscape around Karama is very picturesque. Breakfast the next morning was really nice, the restaurant has a lovely view...

This "Lodge" is basically tents on wood platforms on a hill just slightly outside the city of Arusha. Stayed there for one night in July 2016, and it was extremely cold, since there's no heat in the tents, and the wind just blew through the tent. They did provide warm blankets, though, so the temperature was Ok while sleeping, but...
