We booked for two nights on a layover in Hat Yai. The reviews were excellent but we ended up feeling disappointed. Firstly, on arrival, we were directed to the old guesthouse site a few streets away. The new guesthouse looked fantastic but the old one was shabby and small. The room was tatty and cramped. There was also confusion with our booking as they had us down for two rooms for one night and not one room for two nights. The lady on reception didn't speak great English do we were unsure of when to check out but we ended up leaving the following day anyway. On the plus side, the location is convenient and the bed was really comfortable. Also very quiet.
It was a family trip, and my niece found this hotel or guesthouse from Internet. It was quite new, converted from an older building, and the rooms, the beds, the pillows are all quite new and comfortable. No breakfast is served, but they do have free coffee, water and biscuits corner if you like (tea was missed out and I have highlighted to their front desk). Wifi is working well, though in the lobby is the best. Location wise, it is in another corner of Hatyai city, but once you get to know the way, walking to Kimyong market is quite near. They have the family room type, with a queen size bed and double decker in another attached room. Front desk is very helpful and speak good English.
Pro: Cheap, Clean, New, Near to nearby attraction, Receptionist able to listen and speak in English. Awesome ! Cons: I'm staying at 1st floor and last corner room. I'm not able to sleep because of the air conditioning sound very big and noisy.
Stay in a double room for two nights in April. The room was generally clean and cosy. Most of the basic amenities were provided, e.g. hairdryer. Breakfast was a simple self-serve option with do your own toast and coffee or tea. Wifi access was strong. Ramps and a lift made it easy for wheelchair access. It's located in a small street of a main road, and there are lots of food options and convenience stores within walking distance. Payment is in cash upon check in.
Good location for city centre, and train station too. Looks new and clean. Staff are friendly, though some are not so good at English. Small, compact room. We had a balcony room, but didn't really use the balcony. Only downside was the room's next door air-conditioning was on our balcony and made a lot of noise. Would recommend this hotel.
