This is a comfortable and modern hotel. A family hotel. Lovely gardens, several pools, beach access, several bars/restaurants. It is a 10/15 minute walk in to the centre of town. A tuk-tuk will cost you 100 baht to the centre.

This place has everything going for it. We love the decor of the rooms, the surroundings, the greeneries, the buildings and breakfast was good. It's location is also good for other things to do in Hua Hin. Great facilities at pools for children also. But...More
Stayed in this hotel end of August. It was certainly an upgrade to my previous hotel in Hua Hin. Location was good and the beach was alright. There were some beds at the beach, however I missed the umbrellas. Definitely a point to improve because...More
This is our second stay at the Marriott as we loved it so much the first time we had to return. The second time did not disappoint. The perfect up kept gardens and the huge landscaped family friendly pool with a view to the beach...More
Had a lovely stay with friends at the newly renovated Marriott resort, with comfortable rooms and a fantastic breakfast spread. There are a lot of swimming pools, spa, gym, and sauna. The place seems to be more family oriented and has many facilities for kids.More

I did not use them myself but there were wind surfers all along the beach, I was interested in them because of the great colourful photos on a cloudless day. It was beautiful to watch. The beach goes for miles in bothe directions and is not crowded, light warm winds makes it perfect for wind surfers. Not sure if you can acquire one at the Marriott but most definitely can get them all along the beach.

Hi. We also stayed at the JW Marriot in Khao Lak a couple of years ago, and Hua Hin is quite different. The grounds of the resort in Hua Hin are much smaller than the one in Khao Lak, and thre are a lot of other resorts on the same beach/same area. And Hua Hin is a lot more built up, the beach isn't as "tropical"/idyllic. I would say that Khao Lak is a lot more like the "typical picture perfect idyllic beach resort of Thailand", where as Hua Hin is more industrial. However, with that said, I think the Marriott in Hua Hin is an excellent choice if you are to chose a resort in Hua Hin. It is newly refurbished, and the quality is very good. But be prepared for more people/less space than Khao Lak. We combined a week in Hua Hin with a 4day trip of sightseeing, seeing the River Kwai (and the bridge), staying on a floating hotel on the river (beautiful!), visiting floating- and trainmarked, and Bangkok. Turned out to be a very good combination of sightseeing and relaxation. And Hua Hin sort of "grew on us" during our week there. Plenty of things to see and do, just not the typical picture perfect Thai beach kind of place. Take the seasons in consideration while travelling. In the rainy season the weather is still quite good in Hua Hin, whereas it will rain a lot in Krabi/Phuket/Khao Lak.
