No social distancing, overcrowded mess and painfully understaffed. Stayed for 3 nights. After staying at top hotels in Phuket, Pattaya, and Samui, we did not expect this overcrowded mess until we arrived. Lobby full of families waiting to check in with zero social distancing (more on this later). Not even close to enough staff to handle the crowd. Shouldn’t they be not booking every single room during the pandemic?!?! You try calling the front desk. They are ALWAYS BUSY. Never pick up the phone and never return calls timely. Pool is also packed like sardines. No social distancing. No wiping down the chairs or ANYTHING for that matter after someone leaves. Definitely feel like a covid breakout waiting to happen. Staff just seem overworked and not friendly. Front desk folks are not friendly at all especially the duty managers. They charge extra for dishes and utensils. Rooms are cheaply decorated. The beach (which is beyond their control) is dirty, full to jellyfish and horrible.

Where to start. Over crowded, expensive and an awful experience. The check in was terrible with insufficient buggies or staff to take people to their rooms. With a queue of people waiting to go to their rooms, we walked to the room instead. No problem, but when we got to the room, the assistant stood inside the doors, pointed vaguely in the direction of the bathroom and said "your bathroom is there" and then rushed off. Whether the resort has a gym or spa or anything at all was not explained. Again, not a big deal but it is allegedly a 5 star resort and charges accordingly. It was so over booked we were unable to book dinner at any restaurant on our first night. We found ourselves staying at a resort that couldn't feed us. We were unable to book a massage a day in advance unless it was during dinner time. Breakfast was a whole new level of over crowding. A queue of over 25 people sat outside waiting to get in to eat. A queue so long they served tea and coffee to the people waiting. How long the wait was, is unclear but they had thoughtfully provided seats so people could be comfortable while they waited..... As to the facilities, the pool areas were fantastic and the gym was small and poorly equipped. The room was good, the staff are friendly but they need to stop taking bookings, or hire more staff because this is simply unacceptable level of service for a hotel charging THB10,000 a night. To stay at a resort that hasn't got the capacity to feed you, is a new experience for me. I would never stay there again.

It was somewhat of a surprise to us all to read your review after your conversations with our team at the front desk upon arrival. When you arrived, it was raining and our team walked with you and your wife to the room with the explanation of the resort facilities. Regarding buggy service, please accept our sincere apologies for this inconvenience as our 7 buggies were occupied by other guests. Unfortunately that you could not enjoy dining with us on your first night and massage at our Quan Spa, advanced reservation for dining and spa is highly recommended when you travel on the weekend as weekends in Hua Hin are always busy and in high demand. On the other note, we are pleased to read that you enjoyed our pools, suite room and the service provided from our team. Once again I am truly sorry for the shortfall of the service you experienced; however, we truly hope we will get the opportunity to welcome you back and serve you with a thoroughly seamless service that's more typical and usual high standards that we are proud of as we love to have the pleasure of seeing you return to us! I have been to Hua Hin Marriott at least 3 times this year (2021) and many more in the past. during low season, they seemed to take a good care and provide great services but sadly when tourists came back. the latest time on early October was very disappointing. they can't keep the standard. check-in was very slow. lots of people waiting at the lobby, not enough parking space. seem like they built this resort without calculating the parking slot ratio. Worst thing is the location of some room. I love the junior suite as it has separate bedroom, living room, walk-in closet and bathroom. there are 6 junior suites in total, 3 facing the sea on the left wing near big fish. ask for those room. but the rest 3 rooms are next to the pool. AVOID THEM. except you want a loud noise from the pool and everyone who walked pass can look into your room directly. booking on Marriott convoy app doesn't have choice to choose high floor or ground floor. you need to call them after making reservation. and MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT FOOLED BY "2ND FL.", my latest junior suite was right next to the pool and everyone around can see inside my room. the hotel said this is called 2nd floor already as the hotel's property is sloping up. very confusing. last thing to mention, is that some staff's manner, some housekeeper made rude comment on us or some gardener walked into our balcony without asking to trim the bushes. as all I mentioned above, I decided to check out immediately and moved to other hotel. to sum up, stay here during low season (and) on weekday. other than that, there are plenty of nice hotels that willing to take care of your vacation.

After we’d checked out from this lovely resort, my second half wanted to experience the afternoon tea at the lobby, but it was crowded and we couldn’t hit the road without giving it a try. That said, we’d walked to Amber kitchen’s outdoor dining area and requested to have the afternoon tea served in their venue instead of the lobby, due to Covid-19 current situation, we were welcomed by the courteous Jiffy who called his manager to assist us and told us not possible, but Jiffy did an outstanding job by calling his senior manager, Kittipat, to come and assist us further. We felt good after experiencing the afternoon tea with a swimming pool view. Both Jiffy and Kittipat are a credit to Marriott HuaHin Resort, and we can’t wait to see you any time soon. I hope your GM knows how excellent you are at what you are doing. Keep it up 👍

My son got his finger injuted during his school break. We are really appreciated that Khun Jay come to do his wound everydays and save our long awaited holiday. The place is beautiful, the staffs are bery helpful and most of all their foods are the best among all the chainswe have stayed with in Thailand.
