The rooms are very nice and clean. The bathroom is almost stylish compared to what one sees in Thailand at that price range. It is off the beat, so it is very quiet and you can sleep well. To the city it is about 5 km, so best is to rent a scooter. Until about 8pm Baht buses are running on the nearby main road, to come home without your own transport you need a Tuk Tuk, costs you 200 baht. Good location for sight seeing, for the partygoers there are better locations.

My friend and I stayed at this place for three nights,on November 2016.With all my respect to Tanya,a native English speaker staff and thanks for all her help I must say some facts about the Baan Da Laar Boutique Hua Hin that is not mentioned already. Despite friendly and helpful staff the place has some fundamental problems that staff can do nothing about it!Here are some.. A:The Location: 1-The guesthouse is located in a quite place with non or few inhabitants and many stray dogs around! 2-At night the street leads to the place is very dark and somehow scaring with many stray dogs that attack by passers in group!!My friend and I were attacked two times!!But as we knew how to deal this situation, fortunately nothing bad happened to us but scared!! 3-The place is located far from city center and there is not any supermarket or shop around to buy your primary needs! For all your needs you must walk about ten minutes to the main road to the city and take a Songthaew or Taxi to go to the city center to find a supermarket etc. B:The Guesthouse 1-It's a two story building with 8 rooms.Although the area is clean enough but the Bathroom has a basic problem! The floor and walls of the bathrooms are not covered by ceramic tiles and it is simply covered by cement!! So it is impossible to have a hygienic and clean bathroom!Whatsoever the staff wash and clean it!! 2-No safe box neither in rooms nor at reception! So you have to carry all your valuable things such as passport, money, etc.with you. 3-No place in room to hang your clothes! 4-One bottle of water is supplied daily for a double room. There is a small table at the serving room with some tea, coffee, bread, jam, etc. that you can have a snack for free and drink a cup of tea or coffee. At last I would say that I will not stay at this place anymore and don't recommend it to anyone. But if you are in Hua Hin and all hotels and hostels are already reserved ,this place can be a choice just for a night. But remember if you have to stay here be completely aware of dogs and don't walk around the hotel alone!!Of course be at the hotel before sunset!

Last day of a 15 night stay. Can't recommend this hotel enough. It s clean , cheap and very friendly. It's is located about 3 miles from main part of the town but easy reach by a Rod Song Teaw. Bright large rooms with a balcony that look the quiet road in front. 3min to the local beach and 5 min walk from a night market for food. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. For a place far from the madding crowd this is it.

Baan Da Laar is located a few kilometers from the center of Hua Hin. This small guesthouse is a good option for people and families on a budget, or who just want to avoid the "farang" tourist scene. We liked the large clean rooms, friendly staff, and quiet location among vacation homes. Nearby, there is a very nice beach park with a children's playground and adult exercise park (a 3-minute walk). Our 4-yo daughter loved the playground and made friends with the local kids. It's a short walk to the main road to catch a local bus (songthaew for 10 baht) into the Hua Hin center. It's easy to call for a taxi, as well. Within walking distance there are small shops & restaurants. People familiar with Thai-style resorts will like Baan Da Laar. Speaking a little Thai will come in handy.

The room was lovely, clean and spacious. Location was a few minutes walk to the beach, it was a bit far to walk into town about 45 mins but there was frequent public tuk tuks which were only 15 baht per person so it was easy to get into town. The staff were very friendly and left us welcoming notes, there was a young man there that checked us in and was always friendly and smiley whenever we saw him. A lovely place to stay!

Was in Hua Hin for a friends wedding and this happens to be the nearest boutique hotel which we found Extremely clean and vibrant hotel. Family run. The owner Tanya is awesome, makes you feel at home right away. It's very quiet and private. We literally has to whole hotel to ourselves. Only downside is the location from town, as this hotel is in Soi 19, the busy areas are around Soi 60+ Don't let this put you off, there is no trouble getting a ride into town. Will return definitely

This was one of the first hotels we stayed in and it was brilliant. Our room was wide, spacious and colourful, and the bathroom was done nicely in dark grey marble. The staff were helpful and even gave us a lift to town one night. Some people would describe it as far, but we liked the area - it was around the corner from a lovely picnic area on the beach. We also had bikes, so getting into town to look around was no problem, and after the lift for dinner, we were happy to walk dinner off!

I have been in Thailand a year and this place was the most friendly hotel I have stayed at! They went above and beyond - on one occasion we even got a free lift into town by the owner so we could go and get a motorbike! They even offered their own motorbike rental but the place was closed as it was late. Rooms lovely, extremely clean and well looked after. Very modern! Gorgeous hot, strong shower. Wonderful stay!! Only stayed two nights but room got all cleaned up with fresh bedding after first night. Cheap but would have paid a lot more it was lovely!

This hotel was a bit sore on the eyes, it wasn't in a good location. The hotel was down a dark back ally which we found quite intimidating. You could get a tuk-tuk into the town centre for 150 BAHT (around £3) or it would take you approximately 1 hour to walk into the town. The bathroom was a concrete box, we had access to hot water, although, the shower sprayed everywhere. Our 'balcony' was pretty pitiful, about 6ft x 3ft and was very close to the neighbouring block of apartments, so the only view we had was of a local families living room. There was also no safety box a available for us. However, the staff at this hotel were great! They were very helpful and accommodating. The lady on the reception even offered us a lift into the town centre! There was also free WiFi available. All in all this hotel isn't great, but for how cheap it is, I didn't expect it to be.

Response from Baan Da-Laar H, Front Office Manager at Baan Da Laar Boutique Hua Hin
Responded 13 Oct 2014
Thank you very much for your review. I hope your trip to the South was a pleasant one. I am very sorry to hear that your overall experience with our bathroom and the location were not very memorable. For the bathroom, thank you again for the comment and I will be sure to get it fixed. :) For the size of the balcony, I believed you had booked a standard double room without balcony. I apologize if the information about the room was not clear when you booked it on booking.com. It was also my pleasure to drop you off in town and I hope one day you will come back and visit us! Again, thank you very much for your review. We always love to hear back from our guests.
