Stayed in the old Thai colonial house part of the resort. What you do get in these rooms is a beautiful view of the ocean and large covered share terrace. The rooms themselves are smaller than the more modern rooms which don't have the view. As a trade off you get the terrace which we were able to use as...

Baan Bayan is located on a pristine section of beach with perfectly clean sand and beautiful clean water. We are currently visiting (May/June) and the water is calm and ideal for children and people who are not strong swimmers. It is a small boutique resort with beautiful rooms and facilities. We chose the standard garden view room which is extremely...

Absolutely perfect beachside hotel - traditional style with modern rooms. Quite small and not at all crowded, we felt almost in a private hotel. Good service and nice food. The pool was great with some shade for our baby. The hotel is very well situated directly in the beach and not far from the nice Hua Hin night market.

It was my first trip to Siam gulf. We has a lot of positive emotions. I didn't regret we chose this place for our rest. Especial thanx to Mr. Tawat Insuwon and to Mr. Good for their responsive relation to the guests. I'd wish to visit Baan Bayan once again in nearest future.

A lovely little slice of heaven right on a huge beach in Hua Hin. Once a former private home, it's now a small boutique hotel that is just perfect. The pool and grounds are lovely. There are plenty of chairs for guests at the pool and on the beach. The breakfast is incredible. Eggs, pancakes, waffles and french toast all...

Ideal location on the beach. Peaceful. Fantastic staff. Great facilities and service. Right next to a convenience store and across from the Market Village with restaurants and a shopping mall. Nice cocktails with two for one at happy hour. Good prices for food. We would definitely choose this place again if we come back. Very happy

Went in to have some lunch and drinks and the rudest waiter ever ran over shouting at us asking to see our room key. We said we were just wanting to use the restaurant so he said we couldn't sit where we wanted to. Ok, we obliged politely and moved to another seat in the shade. He then said no...

Beautiful big rooms in an older rambling cottage-style hotel. Very friendly staff. Older plumbing set up makes getting shower temperature a little tricky and step over into tub without grab bars looked like it could be a challenge for older guests, we loved the place though. Lots of character and beautiful spot on the beach. Night market and downtown were...

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. I had booked a seaview room, when I arrived I found my room, although spacious & well equipped, to be on the ground floor with a very small view of the sea between two other buildings. I immediately contacted reception to complain politely about not wanting a ground floor room & being...

We had a wonderful time here, the surroundings are good, quiet, staffs are so friendly especially Bellboy, he showed us everything and double check everything in the room that they are in order, Our room is facing to the sea, but there is a little bit noise in the morning because Breakfast is under our room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Baan Bayan was originally built in the early 1900s. Facing Hua Hin’s white sandy beach, it has the undeniably superb location in one of the most sought after areas there. Baan Bayan forever catches the eyes of passersby with its hundred-year old frangipani tree, its spacious veranda together with its carved eaves and railings embracing the house. Originally a family’s summer retreat, Baan Bayan was one among many summer beach houses owned by Royal Highness Prince Devawongse Varopakarn. Built during the early period of construction of Hua Hin town and railway station, the house had been handed down to Princess Absornsamarn, consort of Royal Highness Chantaburi Naruenart, before being sold to Khun Prabha Chaiyawat on 1 April 1952. The house was then renamed Baan Bayan, as coined by Ya-Khob, the renowned Thai writer. In the past, Baan Bayan was regularly visited by Khun Prabha, her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Its charm and ambience render feelings of warmth and happiness in its simplest form. Not only does Baan Bayan hold its value as a rare architectural building, but it also reminds those very fond of the house of times passed and memories still cherished. Today, it is one of the rarest and finest examples of a golden teak Thai style bungalow house, lovingly restored to its former glory. Baan Bayan was awarded the prestigious Historical Architectural Conservation Award in 2005 by the Association of Siamese Architects (ASA) under the Royal Patronage. Guests staying at Baan Bayan can experience the glory of a bygone era, yet with all of today’s modern comforts and amenities. It is positioned as a small exclusive luxury beach hotel offering the charm of a traditional Thai aristocratic beach house. Baan Bayan will allow guests to sink back into a history rich with associations of the swinging, glorious 1920/30’s. Guests who have a desire to experience history and culture and seek a different vacation venue will appreciate the atmosphere at Baan Bayan. Advantageously, the resort is only a few minutes away from Hua Hin town center, market, and airport. ... more   less
