I stay here most times when in Patong. Rooms are great nice and big lovely bar downstairs with a pool table and a great selection of sports channels, the owner is extremely friendly and helpful, what more could you want. Absolutely nothing negative to say about it.
I am currently staying in artha guest house since ive been here ive realized its great value for money. Its close to everything central. Walking distance to the beach. Friendly staff, lovely spacious rooms with aircon and tv, and a bar downstairs with better prices than most bars in patong..5 stars for me all day long
Great hotel ideal location not far from bangla road & the beach rooms are massive and clean with a balcony the owner Vincent's a top bloke organised ferrys and taxis to phi phi and koh lanta for us no problem only thing was the traffic could be a little loud but still slept ok with the help of large bottles of singha in mallys bar below!!!
The hotel room was neat and clean and spacious. The hotel is in the lane behind Patong beach. Bangla road, mall, everything is just 10 min walk from here. The owner is new so doesn't have much local info. But he was friendly.
We didn't stay in the guesthouse but enjoyed the Ireland Wales Rugby match..lovely atmosphere, reasonably priced drinks (a happy hour might be a good idea) lovely, friendly owner.good bar to watch sports.
1st time in Phuket and I only had my toe out of the taxi and was greeted by the owner Vincent. Top bloke who thoroughly looked after anything I needed while I stayed there. Had a cracking time and met some truly interesting people in Mallys bar. A great starting and point and finishing point for anyone travelling around the local islands as I did on my holiday. I only hope its not too long before I return. Cheers Vincent...
Artha Guesthouse is a good budget accomodation. It used to be run by Mally who has now sold it to his friend Vincent. Vincent is friendly and welcoming. However, since he has just taken over, he needs to do some catching up on information about tours and trips which can be taken to nearby places. Having said this, if you ask him about any travel arrangements, he immediately finds out the info and will let you know asap. I have listed the pros and cons of the hotels below: Pros: 1. Good spacious room with a balcony. The AC works fine and not noisy like the ones you generally find in budget hotels. 2. Excellent location. The hotel is away from the main street yet only about a 7 min walk to the beach and main shopping areas. The new bridge which has been built across the hotel has really made it convenient to access the best places in town. 3. The pub below the hotel is great. You can watch all sports (mainly football) on a big HD screen. Alcohol is cheap and you can have a good conversation with folks. 4. The rooms are cleaned everyday and fresh linen and towels are provided. 5. Value for money: The hotel definitely is worth the money paid. Other hotels in the same area cost a fortune and offer way less in terms of comfort and security. Cons: 1. There is no 24/7 reception at the hotel. When I arrived at 12.30, there was no one at the hotel. The bar was closed. Luckily, the backdoor was open and I managed to go up and meet Vincent who was kind enough to allow me an early check-in. Normal check-in time is 3pm. So if you arrive before that, you might have issues getting in touch with someone. Since, we had just landed in Thailand, we did not have a local number yet to call up Vincent. So, I would request everyone to email Vincent about any early check-ins to avoid any inconvenience. 2. The bathroom could do with a little more cleaning and upgrades. Our bathroom has a sink which was had a big crack down the middle. Also, the water pressure in the shower is quite less. It takes time to have a shower.…
Definitely enjoyed my stay. The room was one of the cleanest and most spacious during my stay in SE Asia. All the amenities worked. Bathroom was clean. The owner was very knowledgable about the area. He also let us check in early which was very appreciated. As others reported there is now a bridge that goes more directly to the main part of town. Takes much less time to get around than is currently shown on Google. I recommend staying here. Overall it's excellent, and even more so for the price.
Booked 6 nights, ended up staying 12 nights. THe place was very clean. including the bar room and common ways. The rooms are large, with a good size double wardrobe with plenty of hangers. There also was a sink with draining board.the bed was at least a king size, could have been a super king. shower worked well, the a/c unit did not rattle like some that I have experieced. there is a safe deposit box.All rooms had balcony's as far as I know. There is a new road built opposit, which makes it an easy walk to the beach. The bar is on the ground floor with a large flat tv screen, which gets all the sports, inc Premiership football games. The price of the beer was cheap. On sunday we ordered a roast dinner to be delivered, while watching the live premiership game, most weeks they do apple pie and cutard to follow, if you have the room for it.The owner has really made it friendly and homely. I think he would have made a good mum. lol…
Stayed here for a short trip to Phuket as was recommended by a friend and it surpassed my expectations... For the price you would struggle to find better in Patong. Mally and his wife made us feel welcome and were most helpful. Great location and big room. Also Mallys bar is the perfect place to watch the football and if like me you missed the game, Mally had it recorded and was happy to put it on for me! Cheers, will be back soon.
