Nice small resort. Very friendly staff. Nice view from room. Good to come with a few friends. Rooms are oceanfront so some insect can come in.

The hotel itself is not very big but it has a nice comfortable feel to it; offering a peaceful & quite environment dedicated to relation.. We had a ground floor room with a big verandah with direct access to the pool. The room was large and was split on 2 levels. The staff was very sweet and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good and very filling.
Also since Ban Phe pier is a couple minutes away, the hotel staff offered to take us to the pier at no extra charge. Also, since it was our honeymoon, the staff brought us a lovely vase of fresh red roses to decorate the room. These were all soo greatly appreciated :)

We stayed here during a short weekend getaway and found it to have good reviews, hence we decided on it. We own a hotel development and management company so maybe our review is a little strong as our eyes are trained on details.

Firstly, the location is nice, directly at the beach. So is the pool and in general the rooms are also comfortable. In general. If there wasn't this other crucial factor called service.

Let me start with cleanliness. It's bad. At least for the caliber of what this hotel wants to be. Though it is not officially listed, we believe with a rate of THB 4500 it is trying to be a 4* hotel. The toilet was absolutely gross. And the problem is it needs just a little leadership to get that done. Anyone actually inspecting the room should understand the yellow ring stains at the toilet seat is not supposed to be there.

The food was of maximum 3* level, if even. Rather lower. I had a club sandwich for lunch, dinner we had grilled prawns, Tom yam and a fish. Not bad but also not wow. Pretty basic. It helped fill our stomach but that's it. Breakfast was pretty bad. Variety is very limited and the products they use either cam out of cans, boxes or glass jars. Nothing fresh except the fruits.

The people at the Resort are nice but what is seriously needed is leadership and lots and lots of training.

A message to the owner: sometimes trying to do something different than anyone else is a good thing and brings guests back. Try doing something not everyone is doing. Especially since you charge THB 4500. And please have a detailed look at your facilities. They still look Ok, but are deteriorating quickly. The AC in room 103 kept us up all night.

Staff have no clue about good places to eat. The shower smells like dog pee, because dogs are allowed in the room. Location and little swimming pool is ok. Great views, nice interior.
Overall, too expensive for the value you get. We paid 4500 baht for one room. Especially in this area in Thailand.

Great local service and kind people. The food is divine. Great pool and right on the beach. We spent New years eve here, with only Thai locals, no tourists, which was great! The hotel owners were so great to us, giving us free bubbly, including us in their new years traditions... We were planning to stay 2 nights, but stayed 5 because the place was so relaxing!

My family selected this hotel because it is pet friendly and after a long vacation we decide to take a week end out with our Border Collie who love the beach.
The check-in was fast and easy, the staff was friendly they have limited English but they manage to solve and look for the person that understand our additional requirements.
The room was comfortable a Thai style room with two level a small fridge and a kettle for hot water a bathroom with a shower.
The hotel is small but the common areas looks nice, the food in the restaurant was also good for breakfast and dinner, not "very good" since the selection was limited, good just for a week end. We did not use the pool since our main purpose was to go to the Ko Samet island and enjoy the sea, I noticed that the beach in from the hotel is not good enough for a good bathing (nearby river?-klong?).
The hotel offer us a free ride and pick up to the near by pier to go to the island, they even check the prices and set everything for us.
Friendly Staff, nice-clean room, good food. A bit pricy since the beach is not a good one.

Our stay at Bari Lami was nice and relaxed. The hotel itself is not very big and has a nice comfortable feel to it. We had a ground floor room with a big verandah and direct access to the pool. We woke up everyday to a great view of the sea. The room was large and had 2 levels and our toddler loved it. He also loved the swimming pool which was kind of layered for different depths. The staff was very nice and helpful. However, the beach is not clean so no swimming in the sea. The breakfast buffet was okay - not a lavish spread but alright. Wish they had fresh cooked hot eggs though instead of the pre-cooked ones. All in all a good comfortable stay.

This nice little boutique hotel is still the reason that I go to Rayong. It sets on a very nice and calm location. The place is very laid back type. Though, I would recommend the room on the 1st Floor. It's a step type room. I love the lower section. It is what i would call "the chill-out area" and the upper section is the sleep area. All rooms faces the sea.
* Here's my little secret to this place. Try to book the downstair room on the far right building. It is not pool front, but you will have big private patio with nice sea view instead.*

The Bari Lamai, by itself, is a very nice small hotel. Rooms are large, with a corner sofa and plenty of space. The pool is large and perfect to accomodate children of any age (it starts at 20 cm depth!) . The resort is just in front of the beach whitout any road in between. The restaurant is very good, though it is not cheap, but good value for money due to quality. The people is smiling and service is very good.
Nonetheless, the are some mayor hiccups hindering the judgement to be very good to excellent.
1) there are 6 sunbeds in total for 18 rooms! How can it be? The area around the pool has not been planned correctly to host the guests and this need to be rethinked urgently. It would be better to expand it and reduce part of the green grass between the pool area and the beach, even if this part is very nice looking, but there is a need to manage priorities.
2) the hotel does not even have or supply foldable sun chair for the beach. How can it be? This is a beach resort, isn't?
3) there is very little shade around the pool area. We are in a tropical region and the sun is not the best friend, especially for children
4) the stairs to 2nd floor rooms have no fence to protect. It is very dangeous and our almost 4 years old daughter was unable to climb and descend the stairs alone.
