We really, really wanted this one to work... so I'll take my time in this review and explain why it didn't. Firstly we were diddled by IHG over their 'Best Rate Guarantee'. Most chains are dreadful about this and play all sorts of games to avoid honouring the promise. It was only £20 overall but it left a bad taste... why do they make such promises and then cheat? To the hotel itself. There are a number of negative reviews about the location. Rayong is actually a very pleasant spot but it has two refineries at either end of the main beach so it is never going to be the most scenic of spots. It is also, most definitely, not a 'go to' location for foreigners. We stayed for the weekend and were in a a very small minority as a non-Thai/Thai couple. All good... whatever works locally and although the property is o a main road, Rayong is a quite standard and quite acceptable, typical Thai town. Check-in was great and K. Aum was the star of the show... excellent service and I was wrong about something in the reservation, she handled my idiocy very sweetly. We'd booked a suite and found we had club access... excellent. What could go wrong? Sadly, that is about as far as the good stuff went. The suite itself was very pleasant and I've worked/travelled in chain hotels too much to want anything other than functionality so the room was good in that respect and it had a lovely sea view. The lounge itself was similarly well-appointed and we enjoyed some interesting (euphemism) coffee before th hordes of the Happy Hour. Now we know what we paid and it wasn't ever going to be like some of the Bangkok club lounges but the food actually was quite basic and the wine was... horrible. No worries, we'd relaxed from the drive over so we thought we'd pop upstairs and watch the sun sink slowly behind the ethyl cracker. Sadly we were conned into ordering some of the worst tasting 'nibbles' I've ever had. The chicken tikka pieces were like pebbles and I can't describe the beef slider(s)... the one mouthful I tried was from a part of the animal I didn't even know existed. We sent it all back but of course were still stiffed for exorbitant drinks and had in the end to order room service. Room service itself was good for Thai food... but I had a frozen (?) club sandwich which tasted exactly as you would think something that wrong would taste... yes... just wrong. Breakfast was OK but quite limited and it was then I realised what is wrong with the property. Catering for a predominantly local clientele, I don't think that the F&B management is right and someone is allowed to order very poor quality products for non-local items. Genuinely, it wasn't that great and we didn't bother too much with the second days breakfast. Service also was... limited. We appreciate though that the hotel trade is struggling to get back on its feet but again... this is a management issue, noting that we saw nobody in any kind of supervisory or leading role so it was not surprising service was... lethargic. Although the room was nice, the build quality was average at best. The mots interesting feature was the rainwater shower or, as I would call it as an engineer, a badly leaking air conditioning unit in the bathroom. We only realised halfway through the first night and tried to keep that unit off the second night but it still leaked/dripped both extensively and noisily. We didn't go out for the two days we stayed. That is down solely to the car park, again of which others have written quite eloquently. In my view - just dangerous, really, really dangerous and clearly designed as an afterthought with ramps with a 1:5 incline or steeper and hideously tight corners. real shut your eyes stuff. Looking at the reviews others have posted the front office of this property writes generic responses. So we won't expect miracles although it would be nice if the confusion over the credit card we used was resolved at some point. If you were working in Rayong, this would be an OK property and with some - standard - management effort it could be quite good. But at the moment, not worth the extra miles.

My wife and myself were staying for one week in March 2023 in a King-size Bedroom Suite with Seaview. The room was large and very clean and well kept. We were up in floor 23, reasonably silent, definitely much so inside the hotel. We slept ok, the mattresses is a possibility to improve. Parking is indoors and never had a problem with it, is free of charge. The up ramp is a bit tight though for larger vehicles. Furthermore, specially but not only for business, I would have wished an easy connection between phone or computer to TV (either wireless or HDMI) as it helps for watching movies off my computer or enlarge when working. The inside blinds of the bathroom (glass front to bedroom) lacks proper thought: the only way to lower and raise it is on the side of the bath tub, not the door. Also, why would it also cover the entire door between the bathroom to the bedroom.. this portion could have been spared to keep access. Breakfast is ok, the selection of cheese or cold-cut however is almost non existent. However, the remaining selection does cover a lot. Bacon though was missing. Coffee is good. I think the by far biggest flaw that upset us one night is the absolutely unprofessional service, specially in the Brasserie restaurant. They were friendly, but that really was the only mistake they did not make: food came in wrong order (mains first, then starter despite advising otherwise), we had a family dinner and the delivery of the individual orders had a long time in between. Even with my own food (Indian), the rice came when my chicken was almost cold, and only after an additional reminder. Staff was not attentive at all, never saw anyone looking after us. Drinks empty, needed to go and get someone to help me. Mind you, we were the only ones in the restaurant. So busy was not an excuse. Language was neither, we had Thai people calling the order. The Elementi service is better, but in an Italian themed restaurant I would expect the staff to know what an espresso macchiato is..and not say not available while I could even see espresso machine. Also, the filet steak is significantly overpriced, not acceptable what is charged for this rather small piece of meat! Overall food quality is ok, nothing too exciting, but average. Dear management, you really urgently need to fix this by training the staff, this is not an acceptable situation. And during our family dinner, we really were upset about the entire quality of service that night. I would still recommend the Holiday Inn as a nice place to stay because apart from the restaurant and specially the service there it is pretty much the best place to stay in the area. With the view in the higher floors, the Elementi and bar in 30st floor and pool in 29th, (typically very quiet) as well as a gym it also offers relaxation. Just for the time being think twice about whether you would dine there.

Modern building style hotel in heart of Rayong city. Let me start with - scariest parking lot and recommend only expert drivers to go for hotel parking. Be prepared!!! It will test your parking skills. Check in was quick n smooth. We had booked 1 bedroom which is spacious and modern for 2. All amenities available. Smoking rooms not available. House keeping and Room service incl food was good. Breakfast is on 5th floor , avoid peak time. During weekends they serve till 1100hrs. 1-2 Indian items also available. Pool is on rooftop. Beach is 15-20 min away from the hotel. Hotel is next to mall so entry n shopping all near by. Good hotel in town.

This is my third stay at this hotel. Overall it is very high quality, the staff are courteous and friendly and the rooms are large and spotlessly clean and look new. Breakfast has a good range and is what is to be expected from a hotel. I stayed in a suite which had a large lounge room as well as a separate bedroom, it was a truly excellent room and I highly encourage an upgrade if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The location is next to a shopping center but otherwise there is nothing else worthwhile within walking distance other than a small night market. While Rayong isn’t exactly a tourist destination the lack of things to do close by after work means that without transport you will be at a bit of a loss. The shopping centre should provide everything you need though. The upper level restaurant on site is very average, I would recommend eating elsewhere. Other than that recommend this hotel for the excellent staff and cleanliness. I will definitely be returning.

Nice hotel but the location is very poor within the city, only bonus is that the hotel is next to a mall. Not a holiday hotel, more for workers to accommodate at for local business. Breakfast ok with a good selection but a less than average quality of food. Local workers at breakfast wearing overalls for oil and gas which is a hygiene issue in a food environment because of the oils, chemicals and greases on the overalls so I wasn't happy that the staff allowed this. Rooms are nice and freshly decorated and clean. Pool ok. Top floor bar overpriced at 200 baht for a small beer plus service charge and tax. So all in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families but for local work only.

I'd booked a Suite for 3 nights stay at this hotel. I'm an IHG member for long time and have confidence in their hotels mostly. The reason that I booked their Suite is because of the availability of their Club lounge. According to what they described at their website even by the time I'm now writing, it's mentioned that suite privileges include complimentary evening cocktails(17:30-19:30), afternoon tea (14:00-17:00), daily breakfast (6:00-10:30), all day refreshments & non-alcoholic beverages...etc. However, I'm surprised to find out that their club lounge at 27/F was closed when we went there on the 1st day. After checking with the Front Office staff, I'm then told that it's actually closed and Alcoholic beverages could be served at Elementi Restaurant on 30/F. Well, I then went up there again, but the waitress there demonstrated that we're not welcoming guests. Anyway, the photos attached show what kind off food we're served, not to mention the drinks. A child (probably, she's a child of someone working there) is lying, playing & slippers even put on the sofa nearby. Isn't it really a properly run IHG hotel's restaurant? Originally, I'd a plan to have dinner there. Of course, I won't visit there again. By the time we wanted to sleep, its' then discovered that the bed sheet was terribly dirty (at least the dark color marks demonstrated it). Please refer to the photos. Is the housekeeping staff blind? Anyway, it's too late to discover. Too bad! Another hygiene problem is a number of people didn't wear face marks and not using plastic gloves provided by hotel to pick the food during breakfast buffet (not complimentary, I paid extra). Even in the other common areas, people not wearing masks aren't unusual, but no staff will take care of it. I'd raised this issue to their Director of HR on the 2nd day, but situation was the same throughout my 4 days stay. Absolutely, it's a mis-selling case. Don't know whether it's intentional or not. Anyway, what a disappointed stay from whatever angle. How come?!

I spent the weekend at this hotel. The room was clean, the staff courteous, the hotel bar & restaurants were very expensive for the area, the location was poor, parkng a nghtmare, and the swimmng pool was exceptionally small with a distinct smell from factories in the area. On one of my nights, the fire alarm in my room went off and woke me up, the front desk indicated they would send a technician and when none had arrived after 10 minutes, the front desk indicates all clear without inspecting the room or offering an apology. Very disappointing. This happened again but this time in another room.
