Time for an update, since I reviewed the hotel a few years ago. The pandemic curtailed a lot of travel, so it's been a while since we were here. They closed during the pandemic, but used that time to do a lot of upgrades and remodeling. There is all new tile throughout, and very attractive tile at that; my wife is considering replacing the tile in our house with what's in the hotel. The beds, or at least the mattresses, are also new and quite comfortable. On this stay we were also given a suite that was almost the size of my condo back in the US, and at a great price that included breakfast. You order breakfast the night before from the brief menu, which I imagine they do so as to predict how much they need the following morning and not have food go to waste. The staff here is, as they were before, very friendly and professional, and work hard to make sure your have a comfortable stay. The day manager/assistant manager Mr. B is a terrific host, and speaks excellent English. When we were checking out, he made sure to be around so he could personally thank us for staying, and we very much appreciated him doing this. Although you will see some some foreign guests (probably avoiding the madness of Pattaya), it does seem to cater more to Thai customers; all of the television channels are Thai. However, if you're spending your time in Thailand watching television, you're missing the whole point of being there. All in all, another excellent stay, and we will definitely be back.

Americans traveling in Thailand on our way to Koh Samet. We needed a hotel quick for one night. The prices were very cheap, but that is all we needed for our short stay. The hotel is in a busy/active street so you wouldn't have a problem fixing something to eat or a bar. The manager spoke perfect English and was extremely kind and helpful. He was just a delight! He called a taxi for us the following day and was very accommodating. Room was basic, nothing special. One towel and no hand towels or wash clothes, however I am sure if we really needed them we could have called down for more towels. Complimentary water as for all the hotels we have stayed at in Thailand. Bed is hard, but so are all the beds in the hotels we have stayed at. I'm learning it is Thailand style. Our room had a small balcony. I have read reviews about the noice from bars in the area, but we did not hear any noise. It was actually very quiet. Maybe just ask for a room that is quiet. We bought breakfast for 100 bht each. Breakfast was just okay, but for the price it we couldn't turn it down. If I am ever in the area again I would stay here.

Very average hotel, not bad of you are passing trough and just staying one night. I would not recommend it for longer stays. The bed offers 1 usable pillow the other one is so hard that it will just give you a painful neck. Breakfast I would skip it in this hotel, everything was cold except the soups. Cold fried rice and cold eggs are not my idea of a nice breakfast.

Lovely hotel very calm environment loud music bar litrually 20 metres away but the hotel is quality once door was shut on balcony could not hear anything which owes to the quality of the materials used on this hotel. Lovely staff would definitely stay again. Breakfast was pretty good also.

The reception is very nice and helpful. I'm thankful for everything. My room was clean and with a fridge. By the way, from me 4-stars! ☆☆☆☆ The breakfast is regional and tasty. The W-lan traffic is very fast. You can find a little fitness room :D really nice! With greetings from Germany.

I stayed here for 3 nights and was nit at all impressed. The staff spoke little English and some were disinterested to the point of rudeness. The hotel has very very little decoration and hallways look more like a hospital than a hotel. The bed was dreadfully hard. Breakfast was poor with little variation and often cold. You needed breakfast vouchers (really? In this day and age?) and if there were many guests it was a matter of luck if you git anything. Good parking and the wi if was good. For the price it was ok and functional but I will not stay there again

My wife, a Thai, and I stayed here for a few days after a week in Pattaya visiting friends. The missus had bought their VIP card for 1,000 baht/year earlier in the year, so we got a really good price on this trip: deluxe room for 800 baht/night, breakfast for 2 included. The hotel's front-desk lead speaks pretty decent English, so with that and a wife who's a native Thai speaker, communication with the staff was easy. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, and seem willing to make sure you have a pleasant and trouble-free stay. The rooms are a nice size and very neat, with marble/stonework flooring. It's not a Marriott or Hilton, but it's not intended to be. Beds are quite firm, which with my bad back is a good thing, and the air-con works really well; almost too well at times. It actually got a bit chilly in the room at night so we needed to adjust the air-con to get it right; not a problem, though. The location is close to a lot of other restaurants and markets, and is a short drive to the beach. Rayong is not a tourist destination, so the hotel caters largely to Thai customers, but non-Thai customers will still find this a very acceptable place to stay. We'll definitely stay here again.

Firstly, Rayong city isn't a tourist area....as far as I can tell anyway so, quite a few hotels in this area struggle with English speaking staff but, the 2 people I encountered on my visit (front desk staff) were very pleasant and friendly. The room was quite basic but that's the sort of hotel we have here and the beds are quite firm (again, not geared for tourists) but no firmer than others I experienced in the area. If you are travelling in the area and need a basic stay I would recommend this hotel as it's very well priced and quite handy for the Rayong City area.

Was staying in Rayong Lanna Hotel 13th-15th February 2013.During check in, we were told that the rooms that we have requested were not available. In the email, we have requested clearly 2 x single bed rooms and 1x queen bed room. Receptionist barely speak english and do not understand what we tried to explain. It adds on the frustration. However we were given the single bed rooms on the 2nd night with the help of translator, whom speak english and able to understand thai. We were only given coffee/tea making facility once they have changed our rooms. It's not the best hotel, but overall experience didn't leave any wow impact. This hotel is not easily accessible, if you do not rent a private vehicle/take taxi. There are many other options that you could choose from.
