Fantastic place for couples or family who want a quiet and different place to relax.. This small island have all you need to relax in a Robinson cruise look alike island👍👍 If you are not afraid of nature this is absolutely a island you should visit.. My best recommendations
Went on a quick family trip over the new years to this remote lovely island in Rayong. Their website looks promising but upon arrival, it is totally a different story. The place looks like it is going to fall apart and is totally under a state of disrepair. Given the extraordinary price they charge, one would expect at least a three star quality hotel but this is far from one. The rooms are constructed in a way which the bedroom and the bathroom shares the same space divided by the curtain. Who on earth would put the bathroom by the beach and the bedroom behind. This makes you unable to see the sea view from your bed and instead the view of your toilet. Also when you open the inexistent balcony door, you have breeze running from the toilet into your bedroom. The hotel is poorly maintained and things are falling apart. Pipes are broken beneath the toilet and the room just looks really dirty and not clean at all. The resort seem to have an Eco Friendly concept which is more like cost savings for the owners and not really Ecologically friendly any how. Electricity seems to shut off from 9am until early afternoon which is more like we only have one generator and do not wish to buy a backup one. If they are more towards the eco-friendly side and wish to keep this as a sustainable business, they should invest in alternative sources of energy such as Solar Panels as oppose to bringing tons of fuels from the mainland. Food and Beverage options are really limited and we do not suggest getting the full board package as what you get is the same type of meat everyday in different sauce or soup. Most of the menu items relies on frozen items and reheating so dont expect anything about food on this island. Service wise, they have really good staff but only one or two of them knows what they are doing. We really feel sorry for the staff as they have to do everything from cleaning rooms, serving food and checking in. It does really get chaotic when people are checking in and out, having lunch and leaving the island at the same time. They have a really strange policy on the check out date that you need to vacate your room at 11am and wait until 3pm to leave the island and basically you have no where to go or what to do apart from sitting in immense heat at the restaurant. Overall, this resort has potential to become a five star eco-friendly destination but a proper management and infrastructure has to be put in place. We suggest that if you are paying this much money, you should look at other islands where it is more safe and secure and offers better value.…
A nice small resort on private island, only a couple hours from Bangkok. The staff is very friendly and nice. Food is great. Just have to plan for no TV holidays and no electricity 5hours during a day. There are trail around the island to explore and beautiful white sand beach to chill.
We absolutely LOVE this island and the facilities and people there! We stayed a week and only wish we could stay longer. The atmosphere here is one of peace and relaxation. It’s a small island, with a limited number of guests allowed. This means it is not at all crowded. It also means the staff have a chance to get to know the guests, and vice versa. We chose the package with the meal plan, but there is a very nice menu from which to order. For our food, the chef prepared our meal according to the fresh food he had. The seafood was scrumptious and a part of every meal. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the food was delicious and well-prepared. I felt bad because the portion sizes were so generous, we were never able to finish everything. I told the staff I would need to lose weight after all the wonderful food for the week. The bartender was very good and generous with the drinks. We also loved all the fresh fruit drinks, and my husband enjoyed the chocolate shakes. Eddy is the island manager. He was so helpful in anything we needed. He let us know what activities were available. He is very friendly and an asset to the facility. The entire staff was so friendly and wonderful. Most of them spoke enough English to understand our requests. Over the week, we learned to appreciate the different talents and personalities of each of the staff. I feel like they went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. If your ideal vacation is to be waited on hand and foot, to have absolute luxury, 5 star accommodations, a multitude of restaurants and activities from which to choose, then this is not your spot. There is a 45 min, give or take, ferry ride to the island. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have more than enough space. They also have a/c. They are rustic and appropriately charming for the island. They provide both indoor and and outdoor showers. We had a cabin on the beach. How nice to walk out our back door and in just a few steps be in the water. Speaking of the water, it is so very clear and warm, it was irresistible. We spent a lot of our time swimming and snorkeling. There is a lovely reef for snorkeling. The island boasts a number of peacocks, which we enjoy and find quite charming, but others may feel they are a bit loud at times. There is a small bookcase/library at the main building for those who forgot a book, or didn’t bring enough books. Snorkel gear is provided free of charge and kayaks are available for a very small fee for the full day. The island may be hiked all the way around. There are many rocky inlets and beautiful vistas, as well as a variety of wildlife and plant life. It can take as little as an hour, or as long as one wishes, to complete the hike. The deck for dining offered beautiful and tranquil views of the beach and bay - and incredible sunsets! There is also a lovely pool, but we never used it because we preferred the ocean. There is also a pool table. WiFi internet is available at the main building for no charge. We were one of only 3 other Western guests during our stay. And we were the only ones to stay more than a night. This little gem of an island is mainly known only by the locals, with few others aware of it. This island gives us the chance to unplug from all our hectic activities and reconnect with each other, and rejuvenate our spirits. We are looking forward to a return visit. …
The island was gorgeous, the hotel "rooms" looked like something from pintarest, the peacocks were beautiful and amazing to see so close and the beach was clean. The bar was decent and so was the food served there. Only major con was that the remote to our AC was missing, so we got 2 settings, freezing or cooking. It is my understanding that this is something that was being fixed.
I've been to many resorts, islands and beaches in Thailand; i've actually lost count. Munnork Island Resort (also known as Koh Munnork Private Island Resort by Epikurean Lifestyle) was by far the most relaxing of all. If you are looking for a quiet - read all noise gone by 9pm - with beautiful beach, great pool, wonderful staff, great food (for beach), and just to get away from it all, than this place is for you. I stayed with my family of four (two kids ages 7 and 9), although couples stayed as well and there is enough space on the island to get away from everyone and just relax.
My friend and I got a voucher for the hotel from TTT convention. We thought the deal was pretty good including room for 2 nights, boat transfer to the island and all meal. The drive from Bangkok took only 2.5 hrs and from the pier to the island was around 45 mins. We left our car at the hotel parking at the pier. The sea was beautiful with very clear blue water. We totally love it. We were lucky that when we went there, the weather was slightly cooler than it normally was. Our room which was a beach front bungalow was quite spacious with living space, two sinks, separated toilet and bathroom. Also there was an outdoor shower. From the outdoor shower, we could walk right down to the beach. There were several sala by the sea that we could choose to lounge in. There were 2 sides to the resort, the front of the hotel (reception) had calmer sea but, the sea in front of our bungalow was a bit rougher. The pool and dining area were at the reception area. Our full board package came with set menu which turned out to be very generous and tasty. For the breakfast, it was like a half self service. We managed our own drink (milk, juice, coffee and tea) and cereal. Then, we had a choice of either Thai mean (rice porridge) and American mean (eggs, bacon, sausages, ham and potato). Again, the food came with generous portion. Because there was only one hotel here, it was very peaceful and I felt very secure. We really had a great time staying here.…
best place to go if you want to take a break from he hussle of the city. Food is superb and staff are very friendly (special mention to ate pinky and bird). Rooms are modern cabanas and it's really comfortable and big for us (3people). beach is fantastic and they have a place for relaxation along the beach which is really nice! and the best thing in this place is the cool sea breeze. Will definitely go back! 😍❤️
My wife and I had a brilliant 2 night stay here. Beautiful place to just relax and enjoy the peace. If you want a lot of action this place is not for you. Emm, Bird and the team looked after us wonderfully and made our stay such fun. When we left it was like leaving family. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow which was very good but to be honest all the bungalows are so close to the beach that it doesn't make a great deal of difference. Breakfast was good, Thai choice was a bit basic and I recommend that some fresh fruit would be a welcome offering at the same time. Food menu was reasonable and not overly expensive - 250-350 baht for a decent plate. The full board option looked a bit expensive on the booking options and I think is a bit overpriced from what I saw. We did walk around the island and although it looked like rubbish from the sea was collected and bagged up it was left for quite a long time, we also saw a big area of waste plastic bottles that should be cleared up to make the island more attractive overall. We will certainly return here and recommend to others.…
if you looking for private and beautiful white sandy beach and not away from Bangkok, every traveller known Koh Samed very well, but, i also want to recommend Mun-nork island, the resort is located on private island with so beautiful beach around the Mun nork resort, white sandy beach the sea is crystal clear, it take about 2 hrs driving time from Bangkok to Rayong and park your car at Mun-nork office on the mainland and transfer by local fishing boat style to the resort (about 40 minutes), or you take public bus from Bangkok (Ekamai bus terminal or minibus to Rayong and take local tuk tuk to office of Mun-nork resort, however, this place may not for everyone, if you love to relaxing on the beach and swim on the crystal clear, this place is the one you are looking for it, there is nothing than sea & sun, there is one restaurant at resort open for all day dining and chill drinks & beers (next from the swimming pool), besides relaxing on the beautiful beach you may take the kayaking to explore around this island or fishing or snorkeling, the resort is the pet friendly as well, however, you may check with the resort when you make the booking (for sure), there is no entertainment area, shop and beach vendors on this island at all, i suggest to come and stay during the weekday than weekend or long weekend , the island and resort is a romantic place for honeymooner and couple (recommend to stay in Beach front bungalow) as well as the group of young traveller who want to stay together in big bungalow (located garden zone) and arrange BBQ party on the beach, so, if you looking for the private white sandy beach not away from Bangkok, this place is what you are looking for, let check further information from the hotel website and let prepare your trip,…
