Room 509 booked and paid 2 nights then moved Dangerous Black mould inside and outside of shower enclosure, which had a 3 section door which was impossible to close, hence water everywhere. Wash hand basin crazed with cracks like a Spider's Web, to such an extent that I got the staff to look and confirm not of my doing ...cups similarly crazed with cracks. Was cold in bed first night so requested extra bed covering, but was told none available, but the supplied it the following day.. Breakfast was like warm on first morning due to the warming lamps under 4 of the containers not being alight, which was rectified when I made the staff aware, but by then the food was near cold and unappealing... So went across the road and had an excellent breakfast for 160 baht comprising 2 sausages, Han and Bacon, Tomatoes, Mushroom, Egg, Toast, Orange Juice and Tea. There is a hotel next door but one to Kavin at 500 baht a night which still makes economic sense when eating breakfast opposite... Really cannot understand why Kavin manage to get there good reviews, unless they have an influence on which are published

Whilst I had visited this place before my last visit was the longest. We didn't stay overnight here but enjoyed an afternoon and evening by the pool. It is located a short way outside of the main city of Udon Thani. There is a small car park provided. The setting is just great. Lovely gardens, nice areas for rooms which are rentable. The restaurant and bar areas over-look the swimming pool. Seating and loungers are provided for people wishing to sit around the pool and there is a reasonable amount of shade too, for those not wanting to be sitting in the sun. We were welcomed by the owner and the service was good. We had drinks by the pool and swam over a two/three hour period. The setting is just tranquil. We loved it so much we stayed on for diner. Again, the setting is great as we could sit alongside the pool. Food was very good - mainly Swiss though standard farang food and some Thai food is available. Prices are fine. Overall the experience was great. I shall certainly be going back.

We came here with the family and had a really lovely time. The resort itself is really well laid out and I think it would suit families with kids. My first choice would be one of the rooms that overlooks the pool. The pool is lovely with lots of shade. If you're a sunbather then this most likely isn't for you as there aren't any sun beds and to be honest there's nowhere that's sunny enough that would make it worthwhile. Fortunately me and my family aren't sun lovers so this suited us fine. We ate here too, the food is well priced and as good as most places around town, not exceptional but really quite okay. We really like Thomas Resort, it's a little bit out of town but I'd recommend it for a stay in Udon.

It is very clean nice and the kitchen offers a wide choice of delicious food. Not in the city center, so it is quiet and peaceful. Friendly staff spacious rooms. I always stay here if i visit Udon Thani.

This is a good friendly small hotel out of town, it is not suitable for single people looking to have a whoop up. I arrived on a Saturday and was told the bar was closing at 20:00 due to staff having a day off, and so it carried on. Now to be fair this didn`t inconvenience me. You will need transport to go anywhere from here which the hotel are happy to arrange I like German food spending a lot of time in Germany as a kid and was not impressed with the restaurant, it was just okay, it appears they make a sauce and that`s what you get on most dishes, even the soup tasted of it, however the very basic breakfasts were good with loads of bread and rolls. This hotel does not have a bakery on site as some places advertise The staff are very helpful and will do what they can to make your stay more enjoyable, we arrived with a load of street food and they brought over some hotel plates and cutlery for us to use, i also had a bad mattress and once i had a word they were happy to change it The have a nice clean family sized pool we we all enjoyed A lot is said about this hotel being "German" i can speak German and the only time i needed to use it was to say good morning to an elderly permanent resident, the people that run it can speak as much English as they can German, so language is not an issue. My over view is that i would recommend this "Resort" but only for families and couple wishing to have a bit of peace and quiet away from things which is what i wanted!

This is a really nice 'resort', in the best sense of the word. It's located in a very quiet soi off the main Udon to Sakon-Nakon road. Thomas has always been very welcoming to his guests as well as those who just come to eat at the restaurant, where there's a very comprehensive English and German menu. He has many return guests coming from abroad on a regular basis. Overall, a very relaxing stay and the food is great.

we stayed in a family apartment with its on kitchen. Rooms were very spacious and well looked after. Kitchen was very useful for cooking a family dinner. Apartment was great value for money and the staff / owner very friendly and helpful. Pool is small but the children loved it. A great place to stay if you are in Udon.

Had my wedding in Udon Thani in October 2014, and I checked a lot of my wedding guests and family into Thomas Resort as I have been here once before. The staff was very helpful in taking care of my mother and family who have never been to Thailand before, doing way more than anyone can expect from a small hotel. We had several dinners, breakfast and lunches at the resort, and the food and service was very good every time. The atmosphere in the garden and pool area is magical and very relaxing. The only thing that would have made my stay better is if I could speak German, it looked like the guys from Germany that are in the bar every night have a great time :)

Nice little hotel outside Udon. Well received on arrival, with easy check in to large room with seating area and big bed.Lots of antiquities, a fridge and strog-box. Bathroom a bit basic with only soap and towels. Water ran everywhere from shower; typical basic Thai facility. A friend (Thai local) who visited us described the small pool as "for show"; adequate for splashing around and cooling off. Had dinner on a few nights; good basic Thai selection, and influenced by the proprietor, a German or European selection. Must mention "Anne" who delivered excellent service each evening. We had a car, so it was easily accessible, otherwise I heard that transport into town was supplied. As described by "Anne", her perception of Guests was that most are over 60 years old ! (I'm a little younger) Would recommend Thomas Udon Resort: nice and quiet, not for those looking for excitement and nightlife.

We arrived with no booking and were lucky enough to get a room in December. Stayed for 3 nights. Thomas and the staff are very friendly. The food was nice. Hottest tom yum goong I've ever had! great to be able to rent a scooter. It a very popular place for German-Thai couples. Have to say it would be nice to at least get drinking water though and the drainage for the bathroom was really bad so the bathroom really stank and was flooded for a long time after showering which isn't so nice for your partner to stand in your dirty water. Overall more positive though and might consider staying again.
