Want to be surprised? Do something unusual? Then you should definitely give Black tree farm a try. When you drive here, you get the feeling that you are wrong about it. But then everything changes. Lung and calm and no stress at all. Great hosts you can talk to and spend time with. Super friendly staff and an accommodation high above my requirements is a big bonus. Unfortunately, I was only there for 3 days. But my kids wanted to stay for 3 weeks ...

We stayed at Blacktree Farm for five days last summer and I’ve been meaning to leave a review ever since. Our children still talk about it as there was so much that was memorable. The drive up into the mountains gave a little insight into village life and we had to stop for just about every farm animal you can imagine. Once at Blacktree the children were straight off exploring. They loved the donkey rides, getting our drinking water from an actual well (there is bottled too!) and fell in love with Anthea’s puppy. We also came home with two gorgeous mosaic pictures that Anthea had very patiently helped them make. Food was good with different specials every day and lots of vegetarian options. Bread is baked in the kitchen daily, eggs are from the chickens, even the icecream was homemade. Our best day was when we drove down to Patara beach, walked along the beach and out to the island, and swam completely on our own until the sun went down. Blacktree is for the more adventurous type of holiday-maker. The place feels (and indeed is) very remote and although comfortable, is not luxurious. I was also struck by how dry it was up in the hills (in August anyway) compared to places we’d stayed on the coast. But I’m sure this is only because water is used so unsustainably by hotels in coastal resorts to create unnaturally lush gardens. Anthea on the other hand is conscious of preserving water. All in all a great experience - thanks Anthea!

A perfect location to get away and relax. We drove over after visiting Saclicent Gorge and the drive to Blacktree was a decent distance although as we gradually got closer to the farm we were increasingly intrigued by the remote and beautiful location. So yes it is far away however that is equally its charm and USP. Host was super welcoming from the start and made our stay feel special. A great place in a perfect location. Children loved their donkey ride and swimming in the pool. I was concerned it would be too hot in the evening in our lodge as there was no air available but actually as the farm is quite high up in the mountains it wasn't actually necessary. If anything it was lovely and cool so I was happy to have the duvet to use in the evening, this is in the middle of August at the height of a very hot summer ! Our family really enjoyed it at the farm and our only regret was we only stayed for one night.

Relaxing place to stay. NIce bungalows, lots of great things for kids to enjoy. Thanks to Athena and Ali for looking after us. Good food. Beer and wine available. Not by the sea, so a little cooler in the hills.

I stayed at Blacktree with my family from late July to early August and had an absolute blast there! The location was fantastic, although it was a rather long drive to get to either Ölüdeniz or Fethiye, it was away from the busy tourist destinations and a great place to hike from in the morning and arrive in the evening for a nice meal, a quick dip in the pool and fall into a comfy bed. There was a very communal vibe about the place which was brilliant and allowed you to enjoy your time there even more. Staff are friendly and charismatic and you will always feel welcome.

Black tree farm and cottages provide an alternative to the classic "resort" holiday by offering a unique location in the mountains of Karaagac. The nearby towns of Olüdeniz and Fethiye are accessible by a steep mountain track or the long way round via Esen with better road conditions. The cottages are cleaned on a regular basis, there is Wi-Fi throughout the restaurant terrace and the two dogs are charming. You can also borrow books from the extensive library and play tennis/basketball on the large court. The reclining areas by the pool are very comfortable and the restaurant food is delicious. Anthea is very knowledgable about the local area and offers good advice. Overall, this is the perfect retreat if you would like to explore this beautiful mountain area.

Last weekend we stayed at Blacktree for 3 night, and it was absolutely amazing!!! What a beautiful, wonderful and peaceful place is that. We loved every bit of it. The cottages are very nice and cosy, the big terrain with chickens, cows, donkeys, turkeys and the 2 dogs was a heaven for our 5 year old daughter. She could even brush the donkey and go for a ride. The pool was also very nice and relaxing. And the very warm welcome of Anthea and Bob, the owners. Anthea is very talkative, but in a very nice way. She is taking care of her guests very well; nice breakfast, lunches and dinners (for very reasonable prices!) and good information about the region. Besides the animals and pool our daughter loved the arty things Anthea invited her to do; making her own mosaic and do claying. The only disadvantage could be that the nearest beach is about 40 min drive to the beach, but it didn't bother us, as we just loved it there.

Just stayed there for three nights on a yoga and hiking holiday and the place was just perfect for this. You are in a very remote area away from all the huzzle and buzzle surrounded by nature and all the animals they keep at Blacktree. Hiking trails are directly in front of the doorstep and they also have a nice pool to relax after the walks. The cottages are basic but cozy especially with the fireplace lit at night. The service was great, whatever we asked for they tried to make it happen right away. The food was also amazing. Definitely would go back there again.

We found this place when driving around on a bit of an exploration and stopped for beer and lunch. Given the remote location we were somewhat surprised by the variety and quality of the mezes to be chosen and that we had. And there was a lot more we didn't try. It was good to talk to Anthea and other diners, some of whom had made it up the dirt road from Pinara in a hire car, although with some difficulty, we came the easy way via Alahoca, but drove back (slowly) on the recently regraded dirt track to Karadere (for a walk on the western end of Patara beach). As we didn't stay we can't comment on the accommodation etc, but it certainly would be a good place to be if you wanted to explore this ruggedly beautiful area.
