Spent two weeks in this hotel with husband and 3 year old son. Will not be returning again to Double Tree, fell short for us overall. We have stayed in cheaper hotels which were better, so after saving for some time we decided on RAK, purely for the rest due to our work lives. The Al Majan staff were faultless, they really were - just very special and hard working individuals whose tired faces said it all, we found the place uncomfortable in terms of the way other guests treated the staff and they way they wasted the buffet food - it was appalling to watch - the pure greed and animal way of filling plates and wasting food was extremely uncomfortable to see. On all of our holidays we have had friendly guests who at least say good morning or hello, the guests in this hotel were the rudest we have ever come across, just brutish and unfriendly - very off putting. The way the staff were treated by these people was not nice. The bedrooms were below par. Each day we would sit on the balcony at 5-6pm and wait for our room to be made up, when we would have been out of the room since 10pm, the housekeeping was hit and miss, some days 3 towels, some days 4 towels, some days bath mat, some days no bath mat, some days no tissues, lights blubs needed replacing on the balcony and bathroom mirror, some days no coffee, but 10 milk pots. It was exhausting. The hotel was so particular about the maintenance of the buildings, sun loungers and skirting boards, but the knackered rooms really need looking at too, its all well that that hotel looks good on the outside but the rooms are not great. One of our best stay in any five star property till now. The USP behind this incredible super luxurious holiday was the hospitality and the friendly courteous helpful staff. We were welcomed warmly and given the best Sea View room in the Bayclub. We extended our stay just because we were happy and so were kids. I cannot take names but of any individual but rather would thank the whole team. The breakfast was lavish but wished for more variety as it became repetitive after the second day. The housekeeping, kiosks , dining, the drivers of the club car , the life guards , water sports team, kids club team all went above par and beyond our expectations. Since I have become the Honors club member I wish to come back to this property again and again. Kudos to everyone. Thank you for making it so perfect.…

Great location, good food and great sized rooms. Pools were really nice, there was a variety of options including the water park , which was obviously great for the kids. Beach is beautiful with water sports available. Did get VERY busy, but it was the RAK half marathon weekend 🤣😊

Modern hotel with wide beach front, with plenty of sunbeds on beach and around the multiple pools. Staff all friendly and helpful. We had two top floor linked rooms in one of the separate beach view 4 floor blocks, ideal for holiday with our grandchildren. Large comfortable rooms, well maintained and daily servicing. Plenty to do for the children, but also plenty of quieter areas on beach or around pools. We had the standard all inclusive package, as we didn’t think worth upgrading, and no surprise charges. Good breakfast, but a bit disappointed lunch and evening buffets became a bit repetitive, over our 4 day stay but children didn’t mind. Would be happy to recommend for any age group, whether as families or couples.

Nice facilities, good pools, slides for kids, outdoor areas, but the main buffet restaurant is so below expectations, the food quality is very average on everything from salads to meat & fish dishes. The recipes are underwhelming & salads dont have choice, some poor coleslaw (winter salad in summer?!), Some sorry for themselves grated carrots, where are the typical arabic dishes? Dressings? Not even aubergines which is such a staple for local foods. No fresh leaves salads, no dressings. Breakfasts are aldo very big but little quality. No fresh honey, no salmon, no salads, no herbs for omelette, just so mass produced with little attention to taste/freshness. I dont mind presentation being average but taste & freshness should be way vetter for Hilton. E.g. cucumbers were so soggy, not fresh. Fruit salads are bismal: not ripe, green hard and not tasty melon & kiwi, no berries, no other fruit. Desserts again lack quality of a decent patisserie chef. Food form memories of good holidays, this will be the wrong type of memory.…
