Homely and inviting. Like the simplicity combined with quality and style. Short intro of the facilities on arrival wouldn't hurt. Location is great with immediate access to a few restaurants. Walking around makes you meet nice and friendly people nice to talk to.

Mikael, thank you very much for the lovely review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. Thanks for the constructive feedback regarding "orientation" on arrival. I am sorry you were not given an introduction of the facilities; my staff are usually good at this but were perhaps under pressure at the time. Thanks very...

What I enjoyed most was the relaxed atmosphere of the place. If you want to get to know other guests, just hang out at the pool. You can cook your own food in their kitchen after you buy it across the street at Shoprite. Or you can walk down the street to a little restaurant. And the swimming pool after...

Thanks Jim K for the lovely review. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed our relaxed atmosphere. We tend to be the backpackers in town that encourages that very chilled out vibe rather than a big hyped up party vibe. We are perfectly located for accessing night clubs, bars andrestaurants so our guests can go out enjoy the...

I stayed at Fawlty Towers about 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much that I decided to stay there again this year. The vibe at Fawltys is super chilled and ideal for zoning out when on holiday. I spent at least 2 days soaking up the sunshine by their pool, drinking Mosi Beer (Fawlty’s beers are cheap). I stayed...

We three arrived in Livingstone after hitching a lift from Kafue. Didn't know where to stay, but found Fawlty Towers. What a good choice. Room with 2 sets of bunk beds plus a small shower room. What more could we want? Breakfast more than adequate. Free pancakes superb. Able to make drinks in the kitchen late into the night. Staff...

I agree with ShellyP793 in her review that the place is not welcoming. The Receptionist seemed lazy and tired upon our arrival and did not care to talk with us. When we asked about rates and the like she was obviously annoyed. I did ask her if we were annoying her. The other Staff Members such as the Security Guard...

Dear hmcnally35 Thank you very much for your review. I am sorry to hear you did not find Fawlty Towers a welcoming place. I shall discuss your feedback with both our Receptionist and our Security Guard. I expect this October heat is making everyone lethargic and perhaps somewhat grumpy. October is our hottest month of the year and the heat...

The facility offered excellent service for the money. Staff were all very friendly and helpful with arranging activities or offering advice. Accessibility of kitchen facilities was a real bonus and it was suitable for all types of travellers: family, backpacker, couples young and not so young.

Rooms aren't clean. Mosquito nets are not effective. You have to track them down to get the wifi password. And they won't make a local phone call for you unless you book an activity through them. Oh, and their kitchen closes at 5pm and to use your credit card for anything, you need to spend at least 100 kwachas ($10usd)....

Wow shelleyp793, it's not very often we get such a scathing review. You will see that most of our reviews are excellent and our guests generally love Fawlty Towers. we really enjoyed staying at Fawlty Towers and would definitely stay there again. The location is great with a good supermarket across the road. They also make great bush porridge for breakfast, and I will have to find some here if I can.
