We visited in August 2016 as part of a set of educationals to Livingstone lodges. Sussi does not disappoint one bit. Of the well known and reputed Livingstone lodges, it is the best value for money by far. It's close enough to the town to enjoy the activities that involve the Falls and the river but far away enough, to...

We visited this camp after having made reservations for another camp with Sanctuary Retreats in Botswana, however we had visa issues so that didn't work out last minute. The staff at Sanctuary Retreats was extremely helpful. Although we were not refunded (which was a stretch), they were willing to transfer our payment towards their other camp in Zambia, and we...

We visited in Sussi and Chuma in July. Upon arrival, my kids were delighted by the monkeys running along the pathways between the tree houses. The setting is beautiful along the Zambezi River. We enjoyed a lovely sunset cruise on the river and then sat by the fire listening the the sounds of the hippos before dinner. In the morning...

Words cannot express how wonderful our time was at Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma... from the guides, to the staff, food, facilities and special attention we were given... we were made to feel like we were so special at all times with surprises every day... lunch on an island, on a boat, a romantic fireside dinner. The accommodation is excellent and...

This retreat consisted of lovely tree house type lodges clustered around central bar and dining areas and all connected via elevated boardwalks. They each have a large balcony on the river from which you can view the hippos etc. They were very comfortable, with good facilities and well serviced. Our washing appeared promptly each afternoon. We liked all the staff...

We were on the "safari circuit" in Botswana, and started here. The rooms were darling, with the Zambezi river gurgling right outside. The food was spectacular. The vegetable lasagne was the best I have ever had! Allen was our guide and he was so great. He took care of us, he laughed, he knew all about the animals, the river,...

Outstanding place with equally outstanding service. 10 of us (children and grandchildren) were there for 3 days. The staff was exceptionally attentive to us all and paid particular attention to the grandchildren. The river tour, picnic on an island in the Zambezi River, the game drives (including a walk with white rhinos), and the Victoria Falls tour were all done...

This resort has a great setting on the river and lovely modern 'tree houses' (bungalows on stilts) with luxury interiors and a spacious decking. Food is excellent and the service attentive, perhaps overly so. Laundry and (in effect) all drinks are included in the price, which is a real bonus. The standard of everything at the 'camp' is very high,...

A wonderful end to an amazing trip. Sussi & Chuma is a beautiful slice of Zambian heaven directly on the shores of the Zambezi; where our neighbors were the local hippos who can be heard in the evenings and throughout the night. The hotel offers plenty of activities to keep your visit busy, tour of the falls, helicopter rides (30...
