We stayed at Musketeers as it was close to our wedding venue. The Lodge were fantastic, they organised a braai for 45 people the night before the wedding and made every room available for dressing, photos etc. The manager, Liz, was calm and organised throughout and paid every attention to detail, ensuring our room was romantically set when we returned...

Nice lodge in a beautiful garden, quite and peaceful place next to a game farm. The home-cooked food is excellent; the friendly staff is available around the clock to accommodate your wishes and needs. Bulawayo can be funny like that with the weather, so glad that the wonderful day in the Matopos with your many rhino sightings made it all worthwhile! It was lovely to have you and we hope you return to Zimbabwe and Musketeers some time in the future.

Nice place, quiet and pretty, excellent home made food. The staff is friendly and helpful at any time of the day. The rooms are comfortable although not very big, It would have appreciated a higher quality TV.

Dear Ennio, Thank you for your review. Still in the process of refurbishment, new flat screen tv's are on the top of our list. Hopefully the next time you visit us, we will be fully upgraded.

This is my favourite lodge in Bulawayo. A beautiful setting next to a game farm, one feels like being in the heart of Africa. The gardens are well kept, the lighting is superb, with everything 5-star, especially the service from Liz and her staff.

Hotels and Lodges in Zimbabwe are really an up-and-down. Check my other reviews. This one is a highlight, a great (family-)friendly place in Bulawayo ! We booked by telephone, arrived late, were welcomed by the owner, the room was ready made up with beds for the kids, and dinner arranged. What a relief after a 5 hour road trip !...

The Musketeers Lodge is situated 8 kilometres from Bulawayo City Centre on the Matopos Road, bordering on Tshabalala Nature Reserve. Easy access and a well signposted route takes you out to the city limits and into the bush within minutes, the famous Matopos being only 35km down the road. Set in a beautiful, peaceful environment, boasting rolling green lawns and mature indigenous and exotic trees, it is a bird lover's paradise and a welcome get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for the tired executive. The tranquil well manicured gardens are a welcome escape from the urban cacophony where one can relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the end of the day. Sunrise is greeted by birdsong and the fresh breeze of the morning, reminiscent of a bush camp environment. The Musketeers is not only an executive lodge but an ideal stop over on the way to Matopos or for an overnight stay whilst waiting for a connecting flight either to South Africa or to the safari world of Hwange, Victoria Falls and the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. Guided tours of the Matopos and "Walks with Rhinos" are offered with experienced guides on call who will collect and assure the client of a memorable day in the mystery and history of the Matobo Hills. This pristine guest house offers comfortable beds and is focused on guest comfort and ease. A delicious full English breakfast is served daily. At the end of the day, guests are invited to relax and enjoy a sundowner in the hospitable restaurant pub or watch the sunset from the verandah across the delightful garden, before enjoying an optional homely dinner enjoyed by many and available on request. All rooms are twin bed and have access to DSTV as well as self serve tea and coffee facilities with the choice of either shower or bath. Internet access is also available.
