We had a lovely two night stay at Miombo. The staff were amazing, so kind and friendly, the food was delicious. Our tent on stilts was comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend Miombo to anyone. Thank you all we will be back!

My friend and I stayed at Miombo for four nights. The food was delicious (as was the coffee), the staff was very accommodating, and the price was right! Our guide, 'Mr B' was so helpful and went out of his way to track as many animals as possible. This is where I saw a lion for the first time. We...

The overall experience at this accomodation was good. I found the staff to be very accomodating and the food was great. The accomdation was referred to as luxury tents which are cabins and there were also tree houses available. However, I found this to be overpriced compared to what you recieved. However, i am not sure if this is the...

The only reason this isn't five stars is that some of the decor is dated (but Dennis is working on that) and there is no wifi. Otherwise the tents are great, Dennis and staff are great! They even changed our tire when it needed it. Great price compared to most options in the area. The luxury tents are fantastic!

I stayed at the Miombo Safari Camp mainly because they were the only camp that had other guests stay with them during the same time and could offer me a safari that was not unreasonably expensive. The camp itself is actually quite nice. The main area is charmingly decorated and as in any good safari camp, there is a lovely...

Our experience given that it was our first safari and trip to Africa was excellent from the first minute we were picked up by John with interesting stories (and funny) along the long drive to the last minute we left. The Game drives with Dennis ( I hope The 1958 Land Rover is treating you well?) on the first day...

Stayed here with a small group and we were all lucky enough to be accommodated in the high set chalets around the waterhole. While the chalets were a little basic they had everything one needs including a small balcony to view the waterhole and the animals that use it. Unfortunately none of the larger animals decided to visit during out...

I stayed here as part of a group trip and so this is a mixed review as I got to see several of the rooms. The good: friendly staff, chalets overlooking waterhole, outdoor showers in the cabins near the campsite The bad: the cabins near the camp site where small, dark and dank. Mosquito nets had holes.

Hello Karen, I'm sorry to hear that your stay did not measure up to your expectations. Your concerns regarding the cabin you stayed in have been addressed with management. The cabins while basic and considered our budget accommodation nevertheless have been attended to to address your concerns. I do hope you can stay with us again one day and would...

Stayed here 2 nights with a wedding party. Our party had the camp to ourselves which was great. The camp had rather basic facilities, but staff were friendly. Unfortunately my wife and I were given a room with 2 double beds which couldn't be moved, and there was no space to change. Trips to Hwange were lovely, and our guide...

Spent two nights in a chalet at this property. Very nice clean and comfortable chalet with ensuite facilities. Great camping spot around the boma for meals and a campfire at night. Amazing swimming pool area and bar.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Miombo Safari Camp has the distinction of being the closest quality accommodation to Hwange National Park Main Gate & is located in the DETE annex, on a private concession within the eastern border of the Hwange National Park. Having undergone a total transformation we have four brand new boutique raised above ground level platforms that are 75sqm, atop of which are exquisite luxury 55sqm safari suites, configured to accommodate two guests in a queen sized double or twin-bed configuration. Each of these guest suites has a main bedroom, with a wardrobe & storage space for clothes & footwear, a private en-suite bathroom with twin ´His & Hers` basins, ample hot & cold running water on demand, an interior private shower & separate private toilet. We also have two standard tree houses. These accommodation units are rustic & not of the same standard as the new platform units. Instead they cater to safari lovers who may have been to Miombo Safari Camp prior to its transformation, or folks who are seeking a slightly less luxury & more `rustic` bush accommodation. In addition to the raised platform guest suites there are four classic ground level thatched roof rondavels, each one accommodating two guests, with bedroom, wardrobe, private bathroom & shower. ... more   less
