Was booking on behalf of clients. Had supplied all credit information and received confirmation. There was a confirmed email sent and all was settled. Nothing was indicated in the email that the hotel only accept credit card from the clients on the spot. When clients check in, the hotel insisted the clients to pay. Was on phone with them for the last 30 minutes and they refuse to budge, stating security laws and only accept payment from clients. The company offered credit card details and it was not negoitable. The ONLY WAY was to charge the clients. They have only ONE WAY to all problems and it had to be their way. With a hotels that is so rigid, I would never every put my clients in the hotel for they are not problem solvers, but problem creators. I can actually foresee what answers they will give. "Sorry madam, this is our standard procedure". This hotel does not serve from the heart and have no intention to take care of their clients. Avoid at all costs.l…
Stayed for 2 nights during weekdays. It takes about 6mins walk from JR Nagoya station Shinkansen exit. There are a few convenient stores nearby. Our "Double" rooms 17.3 sqm are mostly smaller compared to other Richmond Hotels, but it is newer and remain high standard in quality. I would like to go back to this hotel in the future if I stay in Nagoya again.
Just a couple of nights here and very impressed with this hotel. Excellent location near the station and ever so friendly service. One of the best Japanese buffet breakfasts you’ll find. We’ll be back!!
Located about 12 minutes away from Nagoya Station, the hotel is not very easy to get to. It is 4 minutes from a subway station. I won’t recommend solo female travelers to alight at this station after 9 pm. There are a few factors which ruined my stay at Richmond Hotel. Firstly, even though I booked for a double too for two adults, the housekeeping gave me one set of pillows. That was rectified after I called the front desk. I stayed there for three nights. When I asked for a late check out of 1230 pm, I was told I had to pay for that. Most hotels (apart from budget chain hotels like Toyoko Inn) would have acceded to my request. Best Western Takayama did it with a smile. I tried to explain to the front desk who got someone by the name of Aakahari (I could be wrong) who could speak English. It was a bad decision. He was rude. He spoke loudly and gesticulates way too much. I tried to speak to the manager that evening. Eventually, the manager told me he could not make a decision. It was an exasperating experience. I’m writing this review in the hope that the hotel can train their English speaking staff to treat their guests with respect. Nevertheless, the double room is spacious. There are a few power points. There are a few usb cables given. Unfortunately the one for iPhone doesn’t work. The best thing is the Handy Phone. You can make free international phone calls. Am I coming back? No! Neither will I recommend this to anyone.…
The hotel is very new seem just open, the room is good, the size is bigger then business hotel, and very clean. Near JR station walk around 8 mins and many convenience stores around the hotel. Also many restaurants too.
This hotel is situated across the road from Nagoya Train Station. The hotel is basic but sees to all your needs. We had free ramen and soft drinks at dinner time which was fantastic. Breakfast also offered a variety of both western and eastern options. In our rooms was a free smartphone which was so helpful for getting around the city with the free 3G. Such a fantastic idea!
I paid a jawdropping price for my room but that might be my fault as my dates of stay coincided with a national public holiday. Aside from the price, I think this hotel would be a good choice if you were paying the average rate. It's new, so the rooms are very clean. The service is fantastic and the welcome drinks had quite a variety. It is a 10 minute walk from Nagoya station which seemed a bit far with our luggage, but we got used quickly to it and it became a breeze.
The hotel is really good overall. First, it is very clean and the rooms are modern. Second, it is a 10 minute walk from the Nagoya JR Station. Third, the staff is really respectful and super nice. They really helped me out with things to do in Nagoya and how to move around. There was a man who spoke Portuguese, I think he was called Roberto (I speak some Spanish, so that was helpful) and really helped me. I wanted to go to Sakae (main district, super nice at night) and didn't know how to get there. He gave us a map and told us which subway to use (btw, Sakae is like 3 stops away from the hotel, very very easy to get there and cheap). Fourth, in the afternoon there are free drinks. Fifth, the rooms are quite spacious for Japan. Overall, the hotel is great. Nice, clean, modern, friendly, good location, and affordable.…
We booked 2 triple rooms (twin rooms with an extra bed in each) so we expected them to be on the small side, and we were right. The room size is really the only negative though. The rooms were very modern, spotlessly clean, quiet and with a good sized bathroom. The bathroom was Japanese in style (ie shower before using the bath) but you could use the hand-shower as a stand-up shower too. There was a separate vanity area and a separate toilet in the room. The staff were friendly, and our kids were given small gift-packs with kids slippers and toiletries to keep. Our room also had an excellent selection of toiletries, and tea and coffee bags (pretty good according to my coffee-drinking husband). There was also a large TV and we took advantage of the free drinks in the restaurant in the evening (a selection of cold tea, juices and a coffee/hot chocolate machine). The location , a short walk from Nagoya Station, was also good. Overall, a good value stay in a modern hotel in a great location.…
I'd been visiting Nagoya for the Formula 1 Grand Prix and I found out the Richmond is close to the JR station. Actually it's about 10-15mins walking distance. Staff are nice and check-in /out is fast. it's a good hotel for business purpose. Room size is as standard Japanese hotel "small", but it's clean. Only thing need to complain is the public computer/ printer. it's too slow that I hardly open an email, still running IE which bring me a big trouble. Anyway, It's a good hotel but don't expect it deliver a 5 stars hotel standard.
