We had expected a small room in a convenient location but was surprised by how well maintained and organized this hotel is. Room: Adequate size with a washing machine in the bathroom. Bathroom amenities more than adequate. Clean, neat and tidy rooms with good Wi-Fi. Efficient laundry service. One extra worth mentioning - they have stickers for guests to indicate which items are rubbish. Wish all Japanese hotels provide that - usually, if you thrown out large items they would keep it and ask you whether you still need it - which is time consuming for everyone involved. This is a good hotel for anyone travelling to or through Nagoya. Takashimaya is right downstairs, with many restaurants on various floors and a very big Uni-Glo. Highly recommended for travellers who like modern hotels in Japan which are well-priced and very convenient.

Best in convenience with clean and modern rooms. Accessible to Nagoya station, Shinkansen & Meitetsu (airport), shopping centres- all covered walkways. You simply do not need to take the public transport nor taxis to eateries and shopping areas. Highly recommend, this is my 2nd stay during 2 visits to Nagoya. Rooms are clean modern with nano air technology. There’s also a nice starbucks cafe just downstairs the hotel. The views are awesome 👍 You can capture beautiful nagoya views from the room and see osaka castle from a distance. My “choice” hotel in Nagoya.

Stayed 2 nights there- while the hotel is good, located above the jr station hence many options for food, the room can be a little small should you wish to open your luggage and put it on the floor. The view from my room was ok too. The receptionist was also kind enough to assist with the booking of a connection to another city.

I and wife were staying there for (4) nights, Jan 09 ~ 13th 2020, intend to enjoy our Wedding anniversary in Nagoya and then we go Yamanaka Onsen for 2 nights. We paid for double bed room, but it was too small, no access from both sides of the bed, no small table, no reading lamp on one side. The waitress at the buffet breakfast restaurent was so rude, impolite to elder Chinese couple despite we could speak better English than the waitress call ITO. the location of hotel is good, but there were no bell service on the ground floor, you need to carry all your luggages all the way from 1st to 15th floor. No conceirge desk or staff could tell me how to take local bus to some place. No storage service for one small hand carry bag for 48 hours. Finally, there are TV channels from small city like Macau, Thailand, Taipei, but not even one CHINESE CCTV Channel is found. My family travelled to Japan since 1975, we ususally stay at the NEW OTANI GROUP, the OKURA/NIKKO group, we never ever experience such poor service in JAPAN. we would never come back again to this group of hotels again.

Accessibility and Convenience is how I'd describe this hotel. Favorable located right above the train station means it's only 30mins away from the airport by airport express and it's just few minutes away from a couple of department stores. It is also connected to one of the department stores so you barely have to walk outdoor. Room is reasonably spacious in terms of Japan standard not to mention it is absolutely clean and tidy. Rainshower and bathtub was amazing, have never enjoyed a bathroom so much especially after a whole day of walking.

The hotel’s lobby is located at 15/F. Very convenient location, with train stations, department stores, malls and restaurants all just nearby. The room was clean but very small and service of staff was ok. We requested our room not to face the train station side and the staff did arranged the other side for us.

It was actually very cosy inside the room, and you could rent buckwheat pillows. It has a lot of shops and restaurants near the hotel. It was very convenient to have a train station near the hotel, and the breakfast dining is amazing.

Situated very conveniently in the JR Gate Tower, just above the station. Brand new and very central. It was important for me to be central in order to dash around the city in time for all my meetings. Comfortable rooms, not too small and under $220, so it ticked all the boxes. Loved the bed linen, really good quality and again the shower was super strong, I love a powerful shower. The lobby had one of the most beautiful Xmas trees I’ve ever seen, all folded black & gold paper. Must have taken forever and the craftsmanship was extraordinary, only in Japan. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best I’ve seen and with a small convenient store & pharmacy on the ground floor it made this hotel just perfect for what I needed. By the way if you eat Eel, Nagoya is famous for Eel and there is a famous eel restaurant just around the corner, you can walk.

We stayed 3 nights at JR Gate as we thought the location is convenient as the building is well connected to multiple train and subway lines - which served our purpose of getting around Nagoya city very well. Checkin process was smooth, though we don't quite get that fancy checkin machine which still uses magnetic stripe for credit card payment instead of EMV chip based. Its insecure and many of our banks from Singapore have deactivated the magnetic stripe function of the credit cards they issued. JR Gate gave us the top floor at 24F which had a fantastic view and quiet, as it was our wedding anniversary - the hotel staff did review the comments or request section and did their best to support. Deeply appreciate their consideration. The room is smaller than expected, so we struggled with 2 large luggages but no probs we can't deal with. New and well equipped. Shower pressure and hot water control are also fantastic. One thing we find weird is cooking food smell that came out from the room ventilation vent at 11pm+ on all nights, which disappeared once we turn off the air con. One other observation is that parking at the JR Gate Tower can be difficult to locate due to poor signage in English. We ended up at the Marriot Hotel side of the parking, which is at the adjacent JR Central Tower. If you decide to park, will advice you not to. JR Towers' parking are expensive and not worth the cost. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend if you're ok like us with some of the less ideal situations.

The hotel is located right on top of Nagoya train station, with rooms from the 16th floor up of the JR Tower. There are local, express, ltd, express train , goods train , JR bullet trains, subways train rolling by and under the hotel day and night, every 5/10 minutes. If one is as un lucky as I was, it is practically impossible to sleep if the room is facing the trains yard (west side of station). The room I paid for and booked by booking.com (another awful experience) was a twin, quite tiny, but with a bathroom probably bigger than the sleeping quarter. A spot light was not working and I did not succeed to have it fixed in the 5 nights I stayed. To reach the hotel lobby one must go by elevator to the 15 floor of the JR Tower, which is as well an office tower, During peak hours it is a fight to get inside the elevator. Conclusion : I will never use again JR hotels and I will never book again an hotel with booking.com. If one likes to be close to Nagoya Station, there are dozens of better, cheaper and quieter hotels. But I discover it only after arriving in Nagoya.
