I stayed the hotel and I was surprised a nice hotel for cheap price. I write down characteristics the hotel below. (Most of all is good point.) <Good Point> ● Separated a bath and toilet. And a bath has a bath-chair. ● It’s well-equipped. ○Air cleaner ○Electric kettle ● Include a breakfast. (The same price as staying without meals.) ○They serve a local food of Nagoya not only usual breakfast such like a bread and rice. <Bad Point> ● There is not a baby-bed.
We booked two rooms as our 12 year old grandson was holidaying with us. An economy double for him (which was very small) and a standard twin for us. Hotel is quite new I think and room was comfortable enough and bathroom was quite good. We did not fancy the Japanese breakfast and only had breakfast on one of the three mornings. Pretty close to Nagoya JR station and lots of eating places at the station and in the streets around the hotel. No English speaking TV channels so take a book, your iPad or Suduku!. Nagoya is a business city so not a lot to do there for the tourists.
Hotel was located about 5-10 mins away from JR Nagoya by foot. I was able to check into my room slightly before 3pm. Single bed room was spacious and well-equipped with all necessities. Bed was comfortable with good pillow. Buffet breakfast had a decent but limited spread. Dining area could be crowded during peak hours. Check-out process was performed at the self checkout machine.
This hotel is a short walk from the Bagoya JR station and is located near a lot of restaurants, stores selling fresh fruits, local groceries and drugstores, etc. It is convenient to move around Nagoya as well as to Gifu and also to do some shopping. The rooms are small and may be a challenge. Breakfast is ok but the breakfast area is a bit small and you may have to queue especially of the hotel occupancy is high.
Liked a business hotel with basic amenities but offered great value in convenient location. It's within minutes walk to the Nagoya JR/subway stations. Many restaurants nearby. The hotel was very new. Room was clean and very small, which was not surprising in Japan, but everything essentials were provided. Breakfast was free and unexpectedly good with wide varieties and good quality. Staff were friendly with okay English. I asked one of the staff to make a restaurant reservation for me. He declined, not sure if he meant he couldn't do it or the restaurant would not take reservation. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel if you have a short stay and want to stay near to the major train station.
The room was not spacious, but we were happy with the other plus points that the hotel gives. Five minutes from Nagoya station, efficient staff and a tidy breakfast, this Via Inn is deserving of the four stars! We had a satisfying hitsumabushi at the nearby restaurant in Nagoya station, plus a good rest before our flight home.
Short 5 minute walk from the west exit of Nagoya station, the Via Inn is a smart looking and compact hotel with clean and modern rooms. The free breakfast is surprisingly good, with a variety of good quality Japanese dishes which change each morning. The main downside is the small size of the regular double rooms which is not made clear on the official Via Inn site. If we had known, we would have opted for the larger room. Two people with two medium sized suitcases barely have any floor space to walk around. This is compared to other regular double rooms stayed at in Tokyo/Nikko.
Although check in was a little confusing at first (due to some of our party not arrived) they sorted us all out and my 82 year old father was given a special mobility room that was fantastic for accessibility. It was a few blocks away from the Nagoya Station and near some small eateries and convenience stores. There was a laundry room on the 2nd floor that was well equipped and secure (you put in a code for your laundry and can track the progress on the TV for when to go back to pick it up)., We enjoyed our stay there.
A basic room but everything we needed for a one night transit. The room was well lit, comfy bed and sort of comfy pillows, ample supply of hot water and a very good breakfast. No frills but close to the station and welcoming.
Great hotel, clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The location is really convenient for the JR Nagoya station. The rooms are small, even for Japan. Overall though we felt it was very good value for money. Definitely recommend.
