Excellent service, good location, vey clean, nice rooms, good onsen, helpful staff and all you can ask from a good ryokan. If you decide to visit Takayama, this is a good place to stay at an affordable price, considering local prices and quality places.

We spent two night here and enjoyed our visit. The owner was very friendly and helpful, as were the other staff. Our room was a traditional Japanese room that was very spacious. There are three onsens, one for males, one for females and one for a couple or family. Breakfasts, either Japanese or western were good. The location is very...

We stayed here for 1 night and it was fine for the price, but not great. It is really far from central Takayama with nothing really around it - about a 30 minute walk into beginning of town. The rooms were small and very closely packed. The only shower is an onsen which was perfectly clean and fine. Works if...

Away from the bustle of town, it would take 30 minutes to walk here from the station. But don't worry, there is a free shuttle bus! The Ryokan is large and may therefore be quite busy with guests but it has a quiet feel to it. It is clean and well kept. Rooms are traditional with futons on tatami mats...

This ryokan is located 5 min walk from Takayama Folk Village, but very far from town, bus station and rail station. The owner will provide 3 morning shuttles, otherwise you have to take a bus (last bus at 4:40pm from bus center). Therefore, you likely will require a taxi to go to town for dinner, shopping and sightseeing. The place...

It's an affordable ryokan (japanese style inn) in a great location amidst the historical area of Takayama, 2 min walk to the quaint and interesting village (lots of old grass thatch roof houses, craft center etc). The service is great, very friendly and home-y. That being said a bit on the cheap side, food is acceptable, not great, but you...

This ryokan is nice but a bit old and quite far from station. They have free shuttle to takayama station. They have private onsen for family. Room is spacious and clean but look so old. There is convenient store but need to walk quite far. The ryokan is on hill and good weather. If you want to have transquil atmosphere...

Nice ryokan in Takayama. Very Friendly staff. Shuttle bus to city center (or 20 min walking). Very close to Hida no Sato (Folks Village). You can have the breakfast and/or the dinner on a tatami restorant room. Tasty meals. Though not on city center, it is a recommendable place to stay.

5 of us stayed here on 13th March 2016, we were given a huge spacious room with a wash basin. Room was old but clean. The owner Murayama-san was quite nice and spoke little English. He was very fast to picked us up at the NOHI bus terminal when we called him from there. He also provides shuttle services to...
