A convenient and clean hotel. It is just a few minutes walk from the bus terminal and train station. About 10 to 15 minutes walk to main points of interest. Friendly staff. Front desk staff speak very fluent English! This hotel has hot springs (and private hot springs too). Our room rate included dinner and breakfast. Dinner was so so....

Arrived in the midst of snow storm , had difficulty locating the direction as it was dark at 5pm. Got a taxi eventually after a long wait . Arghh, it is just 150m away from Takayama JR Station ! :-)) Its location is almost perfect as near to train and bus station ( going to Shirakawago, Kanazawa etc..). Great onsen...

We are satisfied with our stay in Takayama Ouan for 3 nights in January. A fusion between modern and traditional Japanese ryokan. As for the rooms, we would say it tends towards the traditional more, e.g. beds were still futons, but on a thicker form of mattress. We slept pretty well. There are public baths/onsen on the 13th floor, including...

Because we were travelling around Japan by ourselves, my main focus was to find good hotels which were also convenient. We only stayed one night in Takayama, so this hotel was perfect for us. It's just a short stroll from the JR station and well placed for getting out and around the historic areas of the town. The hotel is...

Super bfast. Great rooftop public onsens. Private onsens were too crowded. Remove shoes upon check-in. Rooms small but cosy tatami. Staff though was not as smiley or friendly as other hotels I stayed in throughout Japan.

The location is benefit as very near to Takayama train station only 5 minutes walk. The hotel is big. Standard room is compact but functional fit 2 persons only. Breakfast is fine but always full house need to queue up and taking some time. All guests have to take off shoes and put in the lockers provided on ground floor....

This place is simply amazing. It is like no other hotel that I have stayed at before but I can't comment how it compares across ryoukans. The level 13 onsens were definitely a highlight of the stay, although the breakfast and ramen were also solid points. The reception was very helpful with their own recommendations of activities in Takayama. Very...

Pros: 1.Near to train station, just in 5 mins walk 2.Breakfast is wonderful, with hot foods Serves really hot. 3.Quite, even it's near the railway Cons: 1. The toilet in the room smells awful. Even though I told the staff about it, not really improved (we stayed there for three nights) 2. The wifi actually too slow to function. Better...

The hotel offers public hot spring at the rooftop. You could get fresh air at the outdoor pools and gorgeous view of the city and mountains. There are also three open-air private bath. No reservation required. 30 minute for single-entry.
