Lovely tradition hotel in Takayama. Walking distance to the Takayama station. Hotel was situated within the shopping and tourist attractions. Lovely attentive personalise service and attention during checking-in, dinner and breakfast. Wonderful food.

First class service. The Onsen is wonderful, heavenly. Dinner and breakfast best experience. So authentic we got to wear the kimono. Our 4 year old son was spoilt so many presents and he could come in the onsen highly recommend.

Check out their website, which TA won’t let me link to. The cost varies significantly by type of room and dates. Expect to pay around 21,000 JPY per person per night (in one room) around the time of the autumn festival... More

Hello! I wanted to update this thread and mention that I got an official response from Ryokan Asunaro. They said it is not a problem for foreigners. They welcome foreigners with tattoos. :)

You can ask the reception but I would think 7:30-8 is a common time. Most people will leave early to do their day tours etc
