From the Kanazawa station, there are several buses to take to this hotel, including a loop service (200 yen per trip). You can also take the JR buses. Ride is about 5 mins away, and the bus stops are right in front of the hotel. (30 seconds walk). If you dont intend to drive, stay near hotels with bus stops. Get a day pass for 600 yen and you can take unlimited rides with the left loop and right loop buses, that bring you to all the tourist attractions. Board at the back and alight in front of the bus.
We got a superior room and it is fantastic to say the least. Fits 4 adults with 2 thick mattresses and 2 tatami mattress. Room is nicely decorated with fully automated toilet with the lid opening and closing by itself. Bath room is perfect with an area and stool for Jap bath (onsen like setup). There are 2 floors at level 3 and 5 where you can chill and make green tea and other drinks.
For our room, a complete tea set with a nice kettle and teapots and cups provide the experience of making your own tea with nice tea bags.
Breakfast is around 2,100 yen per pax, and must be booked before 11 pm the day before. There is no staff on shift from 12 am to 6 am, but an emergency no. is provided if you need urgent help.
Overall, a superb stay. (oh, if you want bicycles, you can rent from the hotel as well). There is also a cafe at level 1.

Party of three adults stayed for 1 night in June. Nice Japanese design hotel is located within walking distance from Japan Rail station (15-minute walk). The neighborhood offers plenty of restaurant alternatives. Room was very nice and offered enough space for 3 adults with backpacks. The common areas are outstanding (On floor small kitchen, roof top terrace and laundry).

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel which is located 10 minutes from Kanazawa Castle.
Good points: - very designer room and comfortable bed - functional bathroom - there are 2 “coworking” spaces allowing you to heat a meal, drink water, etc.
Negative points: - cramped to open suitcases
Conclusion: - design, functional and well located!

A very conceptual and trendy hotel. But room 406 faces the street. The noise is endless. It is not possible to sleep. Breakfast is frugal with very poor quality products. The hours are very strict (much less conceptual): the room is given at 3 pm and not before, breakfast is only accessible at the scheduled time... the geographical location of the hotel is excellent for easy access to the different places of interest. The price / quality ratio is not satisfactory.

We booked a family room at the KUMU Kanazawa. The hotel is beautifully designed with shared spaces throughout. Our room was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 young children with individual futons for each of us. There was also a generous sitting area for hanging out. Separate bathroom and toilet completes the room layout.
Location-wise, the KUMU was convenient for us. A 15 minute walk from the train station and 5 minutes away from the local fish market. Other major sights are also not too far away.
Overall a fantastic hotel choice. Highly recommended!

Very good hotel but the family room with 4 single beds is small and without windows. Close to tourist places. Everything is done on foot and there are many restaurants around. Possibility of reheating dishes with a microwave space.

This hotel is everything a hotel should be, and more. I stayed for a week and loved it from beginning to end. Firstly very friendly, helpful and professional staff. Thank you! Secondly great design and an excellent vibe/feel. Thirdly great amenities - bicycles for hire, onsight laundry, great spaces on the 3rd and 5th floors to hang out and a delightful breakfast area/coffee-tearoom. Fourthly the rooms are spacious and offer everything you need. Maybe the only complaint is the lack of daylight, but it didn't trouble me. Fifth and lastly, an excellent location. I will definitely return. Thank you Kumu - domo arigatogozaimasu!

Designer hotel. Far from international chains. Futon room. Minimalist decor but really well thought out. Amazing common areas. Only one complaint: the room is only cleaned every two days! Only the towels are changed. To recommend

This is a very hip modern hotel full of European and Australian tourists.Although perhaps trying a bit too hard with all the rough concrete and timber interiror and tea making spaces, it was beautiful and clean and had everything we needed, including laundry. Breakfast buffett was pretty good but not extensive, We had a huge beautiful room for 3 adults so it was quite pricey, but amenities, bathroom etc were more like a luxury hotel. Staff were very nice with adequate English. The area is about a 10 minute walk to shopping and restaurants and the gardens, and about 20 minutes from the train station. There are some lovely canal-filled neighbourhoods nearby. I'm giving 4 stars only because the room was on the main road and very loud traffic all night kept us awake.

No microwave in the hotel. However, all the convenience stores in Japan have one and there are 2 nearby. When you buy something there you can ask them to heat it up for you.
There are more places to choose from in the Kanazawa area.
