I loved staying at Yogetsu and would absolutely recommend it. My friend and I decided to go to Kanazawa last-minute and we feel super lucky to have gotten one of the three rooms there. It was an ideal place to stay because the location was amazing-- it's on one of the most picturesque streets in Japan, and it was great...

I happily write a short review to say : yes the other reviews are correct : wonderful authentic house, kind owners, perfect location. We arrived by (rental) car while the neighborhood was crowded with tourists, so we needed help of a local to find the exact location. But that was no problem, one of the shop owners we asked kindly...

Loved to stay here! Pity it was one night only. The minshuku is in the Higashichaya neighbourhood, the heart of the city. Very close to the Kenroku en and the castle. The owners greeted me with nice smiles and even though they don't speak English very well, we managed. The place is very traditional. I had a large room with...

This unique, family-run guest house was situated in the historic Higashi Chaya District. Although it was not near the Kanazawa JR Station, several bus lines passed by there. Of course, that meant that one would need to keep track of the bus schedule. The Higashi Chaya District was a must see in Kanazawa. So staying there allowed us to see...

This Japanese guest house is a small family-run business inside an old historical building located in the central tourist area of Kanazawa, hence very convenient for sightseeing and provides a very unique hotel experience. The guest house serves Japanese-style breakfast, and the accommodation cost is very reasonable. The guest rooms are all located upstairs and the room we were stayed...

Great place to stay and experience traditional Japanese style of living. Well run ,clean accommodation, delicious breakfast, kind owners. We have stayed for two nights, April21-22/2016, first night a rude (to owners) and noisy couple arrived late evening but that did not spoil our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Can't agree more with the reviews here. Yogetsu is one of a kind experience for my family. The minute you enter Yogetsu, you will feel the tranquility and serenity of a very special ryokan. The facilities indeed are modern, yet the owners maintain the incredible atmosphere of an old geisha house. The owners don't speak a lot of English but...

Totally agree with other reviewers. Yogetsu blends the best of old style building with modern technology. My husband very impress with the toilet lid automatically opens when the toilet door is opened. The room is so spacious, clean and comfortable. We like this place so much that we looked forward returning to Yogetsu after a day of sightseeing. The owners...

This was my second time in Japan having spent an overall of 4 months here, and this was the best place I've stayed at! The location is perfect - right in the middle of Higashi Chaya district (the historical Geisha district) but still somehow quiet! There is no sign in the front, which would be the only reason why we...

Located right in the heart of the old geisha district, Yogetsu blends the best of an old style ryokan with modern technology (the latter included the top of the line Toto Washlet toilet seat, which opens for you automatically when you enter the water closet!) The host couple was incredibly nice and helpful (the husband took us around the neighborhood...
