We arrived to this hotel before the tourist season started (in July 2014) and we were the only guests. We stayed for 4 nights. We had this place to ourselves in the spring. The private onsen looks over the snowbound banks of a mountain stream!!! We had two amazing dinners and breakfast and Mashiko and the other staff are great hosts and obviously great chefs too. Cool eclectic art collection and it looks like a really fun place to go in ski season.
