On previous trips, I had only touched on Matsumoto. This time, part of my itinerary, I was lucky enough to find it covered in snow. It is a very intimate city, which gives a great sense of tranquility, in a word adorable.
The Tabino Hotel was chosen for its proximity to the station, about 7 minutes on foot, for the price, for the size of the rooms and for what will turn out to be a great strong point, namely, the breakfast.
The hall is truly elegant, (early check in online) and as always the Japanese efficiency can be seen from the first moments. 3 receptionists welcome you with a warm cloth to give relief from the cold and snowy day. They are cute and smiling. A few jokes and we're already laughing. I have always thought that we are so far away and so close at the same time, Italians and Japanese.
The keys take us to the rooms, which I mentioned were spacious, above average, including everything, excellent cleanliness. Charging cables available. Comfortable beds, excellent sleep, very quiet hotel.
The snow-covered view outside was stupendous, at night, the park below was blue, it looked like the one from Tokyo Revengers...
The breakfast, it wasn't breakfast, but it was a lunch/dinner included. Everything, ramen, salmon, miso soup, tempura! Sweet part, croissants, juices and so on and so forth. Personally, it was the best varied breakfast I had on this trip.
From here, you can quickly reach all the local attractions.
In the end, to unwind the day, the onsen, divided by gender, will regenerate you.
If you come to Matsumoto, stay here, it really made a difference for me.
Sensational!

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance (approximately 7-8 minutes) from Matsumoto Station. It is a clean and modern 3 star hotel. I booked a deluxe double with a washing machine and microwave. They provided laundry detergent and hangers for drying but there is no dryer so make sure you have enough time to hang dry your clothes. The room was spacious enough for one person but may feel a bit cramped for two.
Upon check in I was disappointed to find a stain on the bedding. I alerted the front desk and they immediately took care of the problem by having the bedding changed.
Daily housekeeping is not provided so if you stay more than one night you can leave your garbage and used towels by your door. They will dispose of your garbage and leave clean towels in a bag that they hang on the doorknob.
The hotel offers a wide range of Japanese dishes for their buffet breakfast. If you prefer a Western breakfast you may be disappointed. Guests can enjoy one complimentary drink (choice of beer, whiskey highball, shochu cocktail or soft drink ) every evening, “chazuke” at night and coffee throughout the day. There is a Lawson convenient store next door if you need anything.
The bathroom is small but functional. The shower has good water pressure.
All of the staff members I encountered were professional, friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location just 5 minutes walk from the station & a leisurely 20 minutes from Matsumoto castle. Easy access to restaurants & Matsumoto centre. The staff were very friendly & welcoming - even ran out after us on a rainy day to give us umbrellas. We went for a larger room which was spacious & comfortable. The room had a kettle, fridge, TV, microwave & washing machine. Also free toiletries in the bathroom - which was spacious with a shower over the bath. There is onsite laundry facilities & a spa onsen. The breakfast was self service with a variety of tasty Japanese & western food. Highly recommend this hotel for location, price & facilities There is a free 'happy hour' drink in the lobby area. And free coffee there in a morning

Room Tip:Book a larger room if you can. Basic Japanese rooms tend to be small in comparison to western rooms

Absolutely excellent choice for staying in Matsumoto. The hotel seemed new, the Deluxe Twin room was perfectly clean and, rare for Japan, could accommodate a family (two Western beds plus one Western style mattress on the floor). The breakfast was excellent. There's free parking in one of the many parking garages nearby, but you need to ask at the front desk, so they'll tell you which one to use, and validate your parking ticket. The hotel had excellent breakfast. The hotel is also very close to the train station, if you don't have your own wheels, and there are quite a few restaurants nearby. The laundromat had excellent availability. I would return in a heartbeat.

This hotel is about a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station. First, check in...get your card key and breakfast voucher at the front desk and head to the elevator. When you hold the card key over the elevator, it will automatically recognize your room floor and start moving. The hotel is new and the rooms are spacious, with a double bed, table and sofa, making it comfortable for teleworking. The room and bathroom are small because there is a large public bath. The facilities in the room were average, and there were no disposable slippers. Guests must take their own pajamas and razor from the shelves in the elevator hall. There is also a large public bath (artificial hot spring) and sauna, so they were able to relax after a long day. Breakfast was a buffet with a decent variety of food and was delicious.

It is a fairly complete hotel with onzen, laundry, massages and ice cream. Their breakfast is very varied, the rooms are a little larger compared to other hotels and the service is very good. Super close to the train station, I recommend it!

We didn't try the bath facilities, otherwise the room was reasonable for four persons, not huge for sure. Minor disappointment was also that you had to wait to access breakfast l, which was otherwise rich in choice. Close to train and bus stations.

The Tabino Hotel is a modern, comfortable hotel in a great location close to restaurants and the station. We had a twin room which was spotlessly clean and reasonably sized. The bathroom was compact with an over the bath shower. Our room also had tea making facilities which was great. Like most Japanese hotels usually only Green Tea is provided but I had my own supply of English teas. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of both western and Japanese cuisine. Pity we only stayed one night. Lovely hotel.

Really comfortable and well located hotel in a nice little town on a human scale Reception staff available and efficient. Large, original and very equipped room. (sofa and dining table, hotplate and microwave, clothes dryer, fridge...etc. Very good quality breakfast, rather Japanese, buffet served in a large, busy room. Welcome drink and free offer between 7 and 9 p.m. One of my best addresses in Japan and I have practiced a lot!

Pokey hotel, hardly room to swing a cat. Barely room to stand in bathroom. Tap for shower also serves as tap for sink, although from an engineering point of view was interesting. Had to queue and take ticket for breakfast which had reasonable choice. Hotel can’t cope with the number of guests. Room layout very odd.
