two hours by train from tokyo this golf resort is a jewel! fantastic service coupled with two of the month beautiful golf courses, this place can very well compete with pebble beach and the likes... there are two restaurants, one japanese and the other western food. white table cloth and black tie waiters. some of them even speak french....

Of the 100 current reviews on this site, only 9 are in English, and most weren’t that helpful to me. So I am going to write this for the golf traveler, who, like me, only stayed here in order to knock Kawana’s Fuji course of their list. I’m not going to say much about the hotel because there isn’t much... More

Played at Fuji golf course, caddies always give you good advice and very efficient. Enjoyed very much. Course is stunning. But hotel need to be renovated. Honestly, meal is under average. Very disappointed the hot spring pools didn't work while our stay.

Historical hotel in beautiful Izu, Japan. Exceptional staff and facilities. Typical Japanese hospitality and amenities. Most appealing to older demographic. Primary activity is taking advantage of their famous golf courses.

Kind of being forced to stay here in order to play the Fuji course, the hotel surprises with excellent service and clubhouse atmosphere. Even though the rooms are old they provide all amenities, convenience and space you expect from such a famous location. For ambitious golfers a must.

My wife and I stayed here for one night just after Christmas, buying a bed, breakfast and dinner package. The hotel, featuring lovely big lounges and an historic pedigree, is beautifully located on the coast about two hours train ride from Tokyo. It has two demanding golf courses attached (extra charge) and splendid views out to sea. Our room was... More

My husband and I stayed there for two nights on the 3rd floor (4th being the top). Good sized rooms facing the sea, although we paid slightly more but didn't get much of a sea view as the high bushes were blocking the view. I like the fact that they have double wash basins in the bathroom with a very... More

Japan has some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, and Kawana resort is definitely a place to be to enjoy it. While golf is one of it's primary selling points, a new onsen facility is being built. Food is very good, and service is excellent.

Check In - Very easy and efficient. Friendly helpful staff, great location, wonderful rooms and lots of nice touches. If we needed anything, the staff was quick to respond. Our room was impeccably clean, very comfortable and the bed was great. All in all, a great trip and would definately go back.
