Checked in in this hotel for 2 nights last Feb 14-16. Generally, it's a typical old fashioned hotel. Room is small but designed to maximize the space so the basics are present. There's only a small space to hang our coat and there's no cover pr door so the smell of the cigarette sticked on our coat. Sumptuous mix of local and western breakfast buffet is being served daily for only ¥1500 and it includes sashimi. We enjoyed our breakfast here. Just good to start our day full of physical activities.

We stayed here one night. The room is comfortable with a view of the river. It's a 2 minute walk to MOO bus station to airport (about 50 minute ride). Restaurants are a few blocks away. If you have a car, they charge a nominal fee for parking.

What I loved about this hotel is the onsen on 13th floor (segregated by gender). Soak in hot or cold water inside or go to their outdoor onsen. Note: No tattoos allowed. Spent a restful night before heading home.

Located within walking distance (10 min walk) from the main train station (Kushiro Station), the hotel is across the street from the fisherman's wharf, and has a natural hot spring you can use during your stay.

Downside of you have any tattoos, as there's still strong social and cultural stigma towards tattoos (stems to the image that only people in organized crime get them), that you cannot bathe I the hot springs if you've got any.
Then again, it is a public bath, so there's no bathing suits worn either.

Free ramen for a late night "snack" if you can call it that... Served in the downstairs lounge area between 9:30pm and 11:30pm.

Overall a pleasant stay.

This is the third visit to the town in recent years, as an exit point from Hokkaido, and this hotel was by far the best of the three we have used (ANA Crowne, and Prince). La Vista is a Dormy Hotel and caters to a business and local clientele, and offers value for money. In common with other Dormy’s this hotel was spotlessly clean and thoroughly efficient. We opted for a Tatami room. The rooms are a good size, make excellent use of space, practically and cleanly furnished and look as though they have been recently refurbished. Providing an iPhone/Micro USB charger in the room is a nice touch. Free wifi throughout the hotel. There is an Onsen on the rooftop and a small restaurant on the ground floor, which serves a good value and good quality Japanese breakfast buffet. We were very impressed with this hotel. The location beside the Nemuro bridge can’t be bettered for the little that Kushiro has to offer; the MOO centre is over the road (and includes a JP ATM offering Cirrus and Maestro withdrawals), and the Washo seatood market (with excellent food stalls) is 10 minutes walk towards the JR station. As a destination Kushiro has not got much going for it, and we searched in vain for a town centre, but at least there is a hotel that offers some comfort.

Near train station and near restaurants. The staff were helpful and speak English. Coffee provided at the lobby. If intend to go to Lake Akan or to see the Japanese crane, staff could help book taxi for you as the public bus is only available at most twice a day. If you have 4 persons, may be worthwhile to take the taxi.

Location is good with a river by the hotel. We did a short run up and down river in the next morning. Arrived at the hotel slightly late. Unfortunately, the booking was wrong on my end because I chose smoking room which was a small disaster. Reception couldn't change because it was a full night. Onsen was on top floor with a pretty nice view. Could have been nicer during the day. Free ramen at night from 930 to 11pm. Foot bath outside the hotel. Really decent but the room was really small.

Part of the Dormy Inn chain, La Vista offers great value for money. Clean, comfortable room of average Japanese size and good wifi. I loved the onsen; perched on the top floor, the women's side has showers, a sauna, and two baths, including an outdoor bath that was a refreshing indulgence in the deep winter. As others have noted, the location is not necessarily as convenient as a hotel closer to the bus/train station, however, there's a stop for the airport bus right outside of the hotel, as well as a good opportunity to enjoy Kushiro's waterside area. Really happy I chose this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights so that one of the days we could see the Tancho cranes which is about 1 hour away by bus. There are many good points about this hotel. While the location is not very near the train station and seafood market, it is only about 600 Yen taxi ride. No problems in getting a taxi from the hotel nor train station. The hotel is near many eateries and only across the road to MOO Fisherman’s Wharf. MOO is a pickup point for airport bus as as well the Akan Bus Marshlands full day tour which includes crane watching at 2 locations(prior reservation required). The hotel has free coffee from a machine during specified hours in the lobby and complimentary ramen after 9.30pm. Nice inclusions. The Onsen is small but quite adequate. Complimentary Yakult type drink at the onsen resting area in the evenings. There are also washing machines free for your use (incl detergent) and dryer for a small fee. We had a room with a nice view but a bit small for triple sharing. Overall very happy with our stay there and would recommend it.

We stayed here as part of our mini road trip around Hokkaido. Unfortunately for us we arrived on Sunday and most of the restaurants in the town was closed. We enjoyed the facilities in the hotel though, especially the onsen. Parking is around the back of the hotel and is convenient, though there is a parking fee chargeable per night. Staff in in general helpful and friendly. The hotel has a great spread for buffet breakfast and even has ramen supper for guests. The bed was really comfortable and rooms are decent size compared to others in Japan. Would recommend!
