We booked here for convenience from the train and bus stations as it is just across the street. We arrived by train from Sapporo. Since the hotel, train, and bus station are across the street from each other it was a good location from which to visit the Tsurui crane reserve by bus. After the visit we took the air bus shuttle to the airport; also convenient.
The room was a little dated and dull although larger than most rooms in Japan. The restaurant on the top floor offered a nice view of the city but the food was just average. It was clean. The climate control was complicated.

We were supposed to stay at Rasso Hotel, but had to change it to this one because of our schedule changes. The location and staff were great, but the hotel needs some major renovation. Our room was small just as a standard business hotel room in Japan, but had everything we needed.

What made our stay above average there was their services. We got a free WiFi router, a set of high quality shampoo and conditioner, a free night snack "Ochazuke", and the best one was free laundry! You don't even need to buy detergent, and it's complimentary. Being able to wash our cloths there helped us a lot, and despite how old the hotel was, the services compensated for the property's condition 100%!

First, the hotel has changed its name to Kushiro Crown Isles Hotel. Second, this is a nice but not great hotel. The hotel is built in the shape of a wide "V". Our room was at the point of the V and was huge. It was essentially a large junior suite. You could tell from the floor plan that every other room on the floor was 1/2-1/3 the size, which would make for a smallish room. The room, itself, was spotless and very well lit. It was well furnished with a couch, two chairs, a table and large desk, as well as a mini fridge.
The breakfast buffet was lavish but there was nothing that a Westerner could recognize except coffee, tea, very good) rolls, croissants and, strangely, Pepsi.
There was no assistance with the luggage although the check in process was efficient.
The hotel is next to both the train and bus stations so there ( even on the eight floor) was occasional loudspeaker announcements that drifted up to the room. However, traffic dies down considerably in the evening so it doesn't disturb your sleep.

It’s located right by the train station so that worked for us. Rooms are simple but clean and staff are friendly. Would prefer the extra space in the room rather than the massage chair. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the Fishermans Wharf.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on two occasions during a two-week tour of Hokkaido. We only stayed here as Kushiro was on the way to/from our holiday destination. I had heard rumours that Kushiro is a 'dying town' and we found little evidence to the contrary in our brief stay.

Positives

- The hotel is almost immediately opposite the JR Kushiro Station, about 30 seconds walk. Very convenient for a late arrival or early departure by train.

- The hotel was the cheapest in our whole two-week Japan holiday. We got a twin room including buffet breakfast for ¥10,600. The breakfast had a good selection of typically Japanese items (rice, fish, miso etc). But also had other items including eggs, fruit, juices, coffee etc. If you are familiar with such hotels as Travelodge or Premier Travel Inn in the UK, then this is the standard to be expected at Tokyu Inn Kushiro.

- The hotel's restaurant 'Shangrila" provided a tasty buffet comprising many different items for around ¥3000/person. There was a whole load of traditional Japanese items including fish, rice, miso but also a load of different vegetable and pasta dishes. Fruit juices, water and a dessert option of fruit, cakes and trifle were available too. We wouldn't normally consider eating in a hotel restaurant but we had had such a depressing night the previous week when we wandered down to the Suehiro Entertainment District that we couldn't face stepping foot outside the hotel. Suehiro is reminiscent of the entertainment districts you find in other Japanese towns. Usually they're a great place to find loads of restaurants, bars and general 'fun'. However Suehiro (which is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel) felt like a ghost town, many restaurants and bars were closed or derelict. Those that were open were mainly empty and an empty restaurant is never an attractive proposition.

Negatives

- Tiny rooms. I suppose you get what you pay for but once we had wheeled two suitcases in there was virtually no room to move without climbing onto the beds. The bathroom capsule is only big enough for one person at a time. Ones knees may touch the bathroom door if one is sitting on the toilet with the bathroom door closed...

- Air conditioning unit was so loud is was impossible for it to be used. For our first one night's stay we slept with the window open in a room at the front of the hotel and were disturbed by traffic noise. However a week later we returned for a further one night's stay and got a room facing out the back of the hotel enabling us to sleep with the window open the whole night without disturbance. We are used to a fair amount of traffic noise at home, so if you are particularly sensitive to traffic noise then you may have to put up with the air conditioner even if you manage to secure a room at the back. This was during summer of course - during the sub zero winter months obtaining cool room air won't be a problem!

I’ll admit I was extremely shocked when I arrived in early August 2018. The hotel’s exterior has under renovation and there was little signage to guide us to the hotel – the entire building was covered up in scaffolding and we thought it was the construction site of an incomplete building! (See attached image)

Fortunately, I walked into the ground floor carpark and a security guard was able to get me in through the backdoor.

The rooms were tight, I stayed with a family member in a twin room. Don’t expect much in terms of amenities, you get what you pay for.

Breakfast however was not too bad, it comes with the hotel stay and was quite alright. The location is excellent however, being less than 3 minutes to the Kushiro Station.

Don't be shocked when you miss the building!

This Hotel punches well above it weight. with a bath house in the Basement, great for relaxing before Dinner on the top floor, which is also the breakfast room, as an Englishman I was pleased that as well as Japanese Food you could have a French Style Breakfast. I do enjoy Japanese Food, but not at breakfast time...
My Reason for picking this hotel it's close to the JR Station and Bus terminal...

The location is great, really close to the train/bus station. The service was good. We booked the room with two beds. The space was pretty good compare to other hotels I've stayed in Japan. The beds were pretty big too. The price was great. Highly recommended!
