Location - it's a few minutes taxi or shuttle bus ride from the main train station so it's very convenient. Room - the room we were in had seen better days but it was clean, tidy and warm. It was not my first time staying in a Ryokan but it's still quite fun. Service - the staff were very polite... More

An older hotel but, it was decent, clean and affordable. My granddaughter and her toddler son and I stayed in the double twin room. We had access to the onsen (hot spring bath). I think the women madethe train station of Hakone out because we could go in during the evening hours while the men had use during the morning... More

Very close to Hakone town centre, rooms are very spacious with a balcony. The hotel has wifi in the reception but not the rooms. An extra 500 yen if you do want this. Hotel also has an Onsen. Staff were helpful. Hakone in the other hand is overrated. Don't recommend. Busy, slow moving, trains are slow. Don't recommend.

Senkei was easy to find. We arrived a bit after dark and the staff was very friendly in taking care of us and our car. The room was very clean with a nice big balcony. Walking to the centre for a restaurant took only 10 minutes.

I spent one night here, in one of the higher-end ryokan (traditional Japanese-style) rooms, with 3 friends (4 of us total). We had our own private onsen, were served a kaiseki dinner (4-5 courses, with an incredible selection of food, including many seasonal vegetables, fish, and unique preparations of tofu, etc) and Japanese breakfast (1-2 courses, but pretty substantial, again... Ah, from the outset we did book a budget room. We were on the fourth floor of the converted office block (not sure if it's true but looked like it). The room was very clean but basic no frills here. No wifi in room had to pay 500 yen for a portable router per day with not much connection. Use... More

This hotel is in a setting that should be from an old Japanese film. It's stunning and the surrounding natural stream and bridges just make it an ideal place to stay. The rooms are equipped with a kettle, glasses, cups, tea and a fridge. Plenty of bedding. You have a choice of beds or old fashioned original Japanese experience (please... More

We had the 'twin room with Tatami'. It was old, outworn en musty. There was a continously smell from the drain in the bathroom. This hotel is pretty expensive and presents itself as a ryokan. But it is nowhere near a ryokan. In the lobby they showe a tripadvisor award form 2010. seems that was the last year they have... More

This is the ideal hotel that I have been looking for in Japan for a long time. It's a traditional Japanese Ryokan in which you can have superb experience around the world. They bring excellent Japanese meals both in the morning and in the evening. You can also have a friendly female staff who offers cordial hospitality during your stay.... More

We stayed in the 山月 room. The room was more like a suite - it had it's own bathroom with small soaking tub (and shisedo bath products), living area with the low table and leg less chairs, bedroom area for the futons, indoor/outdoor sitting room with small table and couches, and outdoor terrace with more seating. The hotel felt a... More
