The hotel was old but beautiful, settled amongst a beautiful landscape I felt in special. Then I met the staff. Treated poorly, not given any direction within the hotel itself. Refused access to their own restaurant and refused other services such as their in house massaging. After paying for the accommodation before I had even arrived in Japan, I was... More

Hotel had a helpful receptionist called Mi-O. Sorry about spelling. She helped us out in timetables for buses n trains. Hotel shuttle also sent us to Gora as well as picked us up. Also free Hakone bus using Hakone pass is on the street right outside hotel. Very easy to get to all museums and rope car stations. Breakfast was... More

Our supposedly non-smoking room stank of smoke (putting a "no smoking" sign in there doesn't make it a non-smoking room). The style of the bedroom was totally 70s, the bed side table had an AM radio built into it! Everything looked dated, and I don't mean "retro", I mean, as if it literally hasn't been redecorated for 45 years. We... More

A rather worn hotel. No possibility to adjust the temperature in the room. No WiFi in the room, only in the lobby. The breakfast was not good and it had to be ordered one day ahead. The view from the room was nice. I did not eat any lunch or dinner in the restaurant but no one else did it... More

Chose the Half Board and was Blown Away. Food at the restaurant is French inspired and was a very pleasant surprise. The staff were exceptional to our needs, rooms a bit out-dated but the views and amenities certainly outweighed this. Onsen a delight . Great not to have internet in room!!!

A very quiet hotel in Gora area although a little old situated next to the Gora Park. Probably around 5 - 10 minutes walks from the nearest Hakone Tozan Railway station. Simple but pleasant breakfast is provided but you need to make your order with the reception the day before. There's an indoor & outdoor onsen at the hotel, nothing... More

The staff at the front desk was unfriendly the room wasn't clean and the food was very bad. You can't chose the dishes so you're stuck with whatever they serve you. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they renovate the hotel and change the staff and the way the restaurant works.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Do not to reserve that hotel: 1) no Internet in the rooms 2) Breakfast :. We go a plate with two pieces of lettuce and two small sausages. Coffee and juice diluted with water and no bread / rolls at all to eat with butter. No restaurants or shops in the area... More

If the staff isn't proud of the hotel they work for, it says a lot. Terrible room (101), with sheets that are so dirty it was appalling that they deem it ok to show people. It was disgusting. The carpet was dirty, the room has 2 mosquitos we fought with just to lose the battle and have our kids bitten... More

Place is satle dated and somewhat stale... meal regimen is much too rigid with no flexibility for those who travel with children... meal times and not able to be changed and room service is not permitted. Not sure how one expects to have kids begin a meal at 19:45 with actual entree served at around 20:30... cannot recommend and will... More
