My family of 4 just recently stayed at this hotel. i spent over $600 for a one day stay that included dinner, breakfast and an onsen bath on our balcony. The food was decent. Not amazing as advertised. The onsen on the balcony was nice with a good view. Since it is summer and very hot now in Japan we wanted some cold drinks. There is a small fridge in the room with an ice bucket and tongs sitting on top. We called the front desk to ask the location of the ice machine. There is no ice machine in the whole hotel! There is an ice bucket in each room but no ice machine. We were directed to buy ice from the hotel store. For $600 a day what a rip off that you need to buy your own ice. Seriously!!!

I went on a day trip and stopped by. I had a discount ticket but couldn't use it on the day I went. This establishment is not worth the full price. The view from the outside bath isn't all that great, there weren't that much of varieties of baths, the relaxation room was full with people saving seats with towels, the temporary relaxation room they offered was just one big room with no cushions or blankets and it reeked of cigarettes, the restaurant is expensive and taste is pretty average. Parking is free for 5 hours and 200yen per hour after that. That's not bad, but not great service. If the parking is full, the attendant will tell you to just find somewhere else and walk back. The location itself isn't bad. You can leave the car at the parking, walk down to the station and do some exploring. There's a fall behind the establishment with ducks and koi fish. All in all, it wasn't an enjoyable trip. If paying full price, it's better to go elsewhere.

We didn't stay here overnight, just came for dinner as they were nearby, had many options, and were open to the public. Food and service were okay, not bad but nothing to rave about. The ryokan itself looks amazing though. It was hard to see from the windows at night but it looks like there's a pretty neat garden outside. The place is also huge. I might consider staying here next time. My issue is the waitress who was sick and did not wear a face mask. I don't know whether this is company policy but she was very clearly sick (lost voice, struggled to talk) and she got up real close in my face to talk to me. And then it happened to me: fever, sore throat, lost voice, intense coughing, freaking pink eye, a double ear infection. I can finally talk again after 2 weeks but I'm still recovering. It's not fun being sick on vacation and I really wish they gave her a day off or at least had her wear a mask. If you're working at a vacation spot it's important that you don't get your customers sick.

Hotel setup is nice with a small pond in it. Service is bad though that doesn't worth this price. We're not allowed to use the hot spring because we have tattoos, but we're forced to pay hot spring tax!! Staff at counter also speaks poor english & cannot explain all these happenings. Anyhow, this is the first hot spring hotel I have been to in Japan in the past 10 years that still hold this outdated rule, plus implementing it in such a bad way for their guests.
