This is an ideal hotel to stay if you want to visit hakone. The train station and the tour buses operate from just outside the hotel. They have 2 breakfast options, the main buffet closes by 9 and the western fixed menu is open till 930. The hotel also has its own public and private onsen.

Stayed here one night for a quick visit to Hakone. The onsen at the hotel is nice, with a beautiful outdoor area for bathing in nature by the forest. My biggest complaint is the smoking. I know it’s par for the course in Japan but I had a non smoking room (with a sign saying I’d be fined for smoking) but my room is on a floor surrounded by smoking! The room stinks and I spent the night wheezing and coughing and I’m annoyed my clothes are going to smell. At least I could open the window. The staff are nice, and were helpful when I had to tell them a man had passed out drunk in the fifth floor hall... not classy. The restaurants on site are pricy and require reservations, but the food at least at the Japanese one was mediocre. The location can’t be beat as a gateway to Hankone steps from the train.

Stayed for one night at this hotel whilst transiting between Mt Fuji and Takayama. Simple 4 star hotel which has hot spring baths offered to the public. Room was Ok except for : - no USB plug or non Japanese sockets - only a few Japanese TV statuons available Big disappoint with all the dining / bar situation. We dined at the Chinese restaurant. Nobody could speak a work of English The service by the kind smiling waitresses was no good. My food came all together (soup, appetizers and main course) whilst my wife's took forever. I had finished eating when he two dishes arrived. At 9.30pm we were looking for a bar but nothing wZ open

We stayed for one night as a family: husband, myself and 3 year old son. It is all about the Location for this property- really ten on ten for this. It is right outside the railway station, a 5 minute walk- so very useful for a short stay, with bags and when travelling with a kid! The hotel is quiet, tranquil surroundings and has a good view. It is in need of renovation, but not a must if you are staying here for 1-2 nights. With a kid, it is better to make your own arrangements for the food, but no difficulty other than that. Staff is friendly. Definitely recommend this one.

Stayed only for one night really wish I could have stayed a few more days. Rooms were nice and well kept. The hotel has a lovely view of a river right in front with easy access to it and if you cross the bridge you have a street full with lots of shops very close.
