Travelled on a day trip to Yokohama to see a few sights. We went to the Manyo Club after researching they had private onsens on site. Our family of four rented the family room for an hour. We were not disappointed as we had a great time and it was a tick on our bucket list.

However, we were rushed for time and could not enjoy the rest of Club Manyo's amenities that were included in the admission fee we paid. Communicating with the club staff was also challenging as we spoke little Japanese and they spoke little English. However, the staff were lovely and welcoming. We were happy for the experience.

We decided to give Manyo Spa a try after finding out that they have a private family bath that we can book per hour. You need to call and book in advance for the room, per hour is 3200 yen. however none at the counter speaks English. Best to ask a local friend or your hotel concierge to make a booking.
Upon arriving Manyo, you need to pay entrance fee 2,500yen, per person and 940 for child above 3 years old. There are 9 floors in total and registration is on the 7th floor. after choosing jinbei or yukata, and changed you can roam around the spa. We tried the foot reflexology on the 5th floor. Was good. And children friendly floor. There is also a lot of relaxation chairs to chill and rest.
6th floor is where the private bath room is located. The view is of the bay. We can see boats passes by. Especially beautiful at night.

after the onsen, we had late dinner at the restaurant. service was fast and food was good.
Quite pricy but worth the experience for a private bath onsen.

It has everything from Onsen, Massage, comfortable couch for a nap and restaurants. So it is good to go there just to relax. There is also a floor for game and kids (I didn't visit). Price tag is a bit on the high side though, entrance fee for Onsen is about 2.5k yen but you can pretty much spent your whole day there. But if you're looking for a place not too far from tokyo to relax, I think this could be right answer.

Came here in the evening, after a long day of walking with our Japanese friends. The place was nicely decorated and provided all the necessary amenities, such as shampoo, soap, yukata, towels (all included in the fee). We loved the open air bath where we could enjoy the Yokohama bay view at night. The sauna was also good to enjoy. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I always enjoy hot springs (onsens) in Japan. The experience is always heightened when I actually stay overnight at an onsen and have the full-experience.
Manyo Club has a wonderful rooftop onsen with a amazing variety of baths. The outdoor baths offer a view of Yokohama Bay and the Bay Bridge. The early morning view of watching the sun come up over the bay was lovely.
Manyo Club takes away from this lovely feeling by creating an institutional type atmosphere. From the moment you go through the turnstile to enter and go through another turnstile to leave, you feel more like an inmate rather than a guest. Your wrist band is scanned, you are given a set of clothes to wear, the huge line of washing stations in the bath, and the rows and rows of massage chairs with TVs all make you feel like your are an inmate in some asylum.

BEWARE:
IF You pay your spa/onsen bill with a credit card they will AUTOMATICALLY calculate the bill in your home currency "for your ease" and THEIR benefit-- the exchange rate they give you is MUCH LOWER than my credit card company was providing me. TELL THEM "NO"-- provide bill in YEN (then you get the exchange rate from your credit company-- much better deal for you, not for them)

As for the Onsen itself-- Fair to Average--PRICEY (I downgraded it to POOR due to the billing issue). (I guess they also have a Hotel attached to this property).
This review is for the ONSEN SPA.

I went to this "in town" Onsen (mineral bath spa house) after my "Cup Noodle" Museum visit — for this onsen, in the middle of a major city without natural access to a hot water spring— they truck in the water.

It was a good ONE-TIME experience— but as I’ve been to MANY spas in China, ALL that put this one to shame I wouldn't go back to this one…But go and be aware. I went solo and speak no Japanese...so was flying by the seat of my pants, except I wasn't wearing any pants in the spa.

So in essence you go into same-sex only areas: 1) clean/wash/shampoo yourself VERY WELL sitting on short stools in a little 1/2 sectioned off cubicle in a row of 15 other such cubicles…then and only then, you have the option of dipping in the indoor pool 1.5 ft. deep, or the outside shallow pool/in a natural setting, or outside in a cedar tub in same natural setting overlooking the bay-- very nice of a sort….all on the 7th floor of this building. I didn't go to the top floor--where I hear you can view the huge ferris wheel and soak your feet in hot water (that area is co-ed so everyone is wearing their spa clothes)

If too hot—options: sit 1/2 out of water, get out of hot water, or go to the COLD water plunge. In addition, there are dry sauna, steam sauna, steam herbal sauna, and full-body scrubbing room done by little Asian women.

Then the next option is to put on a spa-provided outfit and wander bare foot into a restaurant area…there is a one with menus (photos, no English) and a buffet with food sold by weight (nothing marked in English, no instructions that is the way it is sold—) all a crap shoot…my six item 28usd meal with one beer, had only two items I should have bought—I am learning!

Supposedly there is a room where you can lounge in huge lounge chair and watch your own individual TV— never found it.

By the end of two hours I was cooked “well done”. And knew the bus I needed (comes only once an hour) was soon arriving…so I checked out— two hours, several very nice relaxing soaks (2500yen for entry), two great dim sum shumai (didn’t like the other items), and a nice very cold glass of Kirin beer—the whole learning experience a pricey 55usd (65% of that was the food and drink).

The Yokohama Manyo Club is located in the trendy, famous area of Yokohama called the Minato Mirai. This all inclusive building is a hotel and day spa which reminded me of a modern day set up from the Hayao Miyazaki film, Spirited Away. It has nine floors with a Japanese style onsen, restaurants, mineral saunas, relaxation room, massage of various types, hair and facial salon, game center, and a 360 degree foot bath on the rooftop. And of course, for guests who would like to spend more than a day, there are rooms available. The moment you enter, you are given a barcode wrist band with a key attached. This is for your personal locker and will allow you to charge for various ammenities. You are given a choice of a yukata or jinbei (a more comfortable top and pants set). Once changed you may wander the different floors to choose which form of relaxation you would like. The place is impeccably clean and convenient. We went during a weekday which I heard is less crowded. If you would like to experience an all in one Japanese spa, the Manyo Club is a must. It takes you away from the busy fast paced world outside, and helps replenish your body and mind.

I went there for onsen and massage (not staying in the hotel room). I have been similar facilities in Japan before. This one is very average or slight below average. Positive stuff: the place is big with multiple floors; good options of various types of massage; location is quite convenient (probably 10 mins walk from the nearest subway station). The most significant downside of the place is that it is quite dated, especially the shower area. Otherwise, it is not a bad place to relax.

Manyo is one of my go to onsens in the Tokyo metro. While the experience is not that of a ryokan in the country side the convenience and size of it mean you can always pop in for a bit of relaxing.

The highlights are of course the rotenburo in winter and the massage services available. I can't share the name of the therapists i always book with as that would not be in my own self interest.

The food is solid although not quite as fancy as say Spa LaQua in Tokyo Dome City and the relaxation room is not quite as nice either. That being said it is also 20% cheaper.

This spa is huge, non sleazy and has everything that wld occupy u for at least for 3 hrs. If u dun hv the time, I suggest u dun come as u will leave here disappointed not enjoying the facilities and the relaxing time it offers. The spa is separated by gender, and the other facilities r common for both sexes/ family.

1. The spa section has indoor and outdoor pools. Really like the outdoor pool as it overseas the bay. Really relaxing. There r also number of low temp/ herbal saunas to choose from. So many choices, so little time.

2. The water in the pools r brought in daily from the mountains, u will appreciate the freshness and the minerals. So pls follow the rules, wash urself thoroughly so that the next person can also enjoy the precious water bath.

After the soaking, u can go to food section. There r at least 3 restaurants that I saw, but I really enjoy the cafe, as it is more communal, and I can pick the food from the spread.

4. There is a manga section and free internet kiosks. But the wifi does not seem to work at all.

5. There is a game machine section, very suited for kids and family, and its huge.

6. The top floor, has an open pavilion for u for enjoy the scenery.

Will come back. Thoroughly enjoy this super spa experience.
