Comfortable and easy access make this an excellent stay for both business and pleasure. Close to the indoor arena and business centres. Good quality rooms and excellent service. A definite stop for all needs in Yokohama

I went for a business trip and spent five day in Shin Yokohama. The hotel, though a bit old, was suitably managed and kept in perfect condition. It was right next to the JR station and subway which made travelling, dining and shopping very convenient, even when it was in the late evening. The hotel had a 24-hr operated 7-11...

The hotel space is quite huge and the building is tall but the room is very small and it was hard to move together inside. The view from the room was industrial Yokohama city style. Instead of booking hotel's buffet breakfast it's better to eat out in the local caffe or restaurants. Hotel's buffet is narrow in food varieties.

We stayed overnight and I could not wait to leave. Our room was next to the elevator shaft and all night long was the whoosh of the elevator flying up and down. The room was small with a pre fabricated bathroom much like being on a ship. The view was exceptional as we were on 37th floor. Good if you...

A nice and convenient hotel in Shin Yokohama. However, the room both I tried standard double and twin room upper floor are still very small. Washroom is small as well. Recommended for the very short stay or single visit.

The rooms are miniscule. The bathrooms really are the size of an airplane toilet. My bathroom also smelled not so nice. The rooms are very noisy since they're right on a circular walkway. Not the place to go for business travel. Our Japanese colleagues booked us there and it is a rude awakening after the Okamura in Tokyo. No one...

This hotel is modern and well maintained. However the standard rooms are extraordinarily, even for Japan, small. So it is worthwhile spending that bit extra for a Deluxe room. Be aware also that things that you might expect to be built into the price of a room are chargeable (pool, gym, etc.). Even the TV NEEDS a card because the...

This is the perfect place to stay and this can be cheaper than Tokyo, yet, you can catch train to go pretty much anywhere. Shin-Yokohama is one of the station all bullet train stops. It also connect to web of many train system that spread to other parts of Japan. If you are arriving from Haneda Airport, then I would...

We moved from one hotel in Yokohama to this hotel for the rest of the week. The room is the size of a shoebox and i normally don't feel claustrophobic but the way the window is positioned it gives the illusion that the room is so tiny. The beds must be micro twins because they are so small. There is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Shin Yokohama is a sculptured, urban-style building rising 42 floors above ground. The gentle, cylindrical shape gives it a futuristic appeal. Just 16 minutes from downtown Tokyo, the hotel is connected to the Shin Yokohama Shinkansen Station and the Shopping Plaza Prince Pepe, making it a convenient hub for both business and leisure activities. The area surrounding the hotel is in itself a large amusement complex featuring various sports facilities, including a skating rink, indoor tennis courts and bowling alleys. Also nearby are the landmarks of exotic Yokohama city, Chinatown, the hillside parks and the Yokohama Bay port. ... more   less
